I got to sell everything though, you know, the army and rebels both seem ready to move, and you know, if they're ready to go, I gotta be ready to get out of here. 2. Boomingham totters back into the hall after a brief trip to the library, where Byblos referred him to a number of books which greatly expanded his knowledge. He sat down at the table with his soon to be Quest-Mates as they told him that the three of them would be embarking together. "Good, you should have heard many stories of me! I tell enough that at least a few should make their way to you. But I must admit, chappo, that I don't really know much about you." "Yes indeed, we're off again! I hope that Nyx and Sylph come to see us off, I'd hate to leave without seeing them! Especially Nyx, she owes me a drink! I've also come to the terrible realization that seeing other heroes in the hall may be a little... challenging. We don't return at the same time too often, it's too bad. I haven't seen Tesni or Eric or Hybros since I left for the desert, and now it looks like I will be departing again without catching up. Makes it damn hard to maintain friendships." "As for the issue of a lack of a Cleric, if either of you would lend me twenty-three gold, I'd be much indebted to you both... literally, of course!" Boomingham laughs. "I want to upgrade my shield! That way I won't need as much healing!"
  3. Hello... def? I think this will help you greatly! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?act=idx You can just make a topic and tell us a little bit about yourself! Welcome to Eurobricks.
  4. <Nope. Screw it all, my original numbers were correct, you had me doubting myself. -8 for the best (290) then you won 3 for the one darkness, and 10 for the double fire. 303 gold total. My original number. >
  5. <No, but my number wasn't right either, you should be at 300. You bet 8 (5+3) putting you at 290 gold, and then won 10 gold, putting you up to 300. As Felton has reminded you, to actually make money in this game you need to bet big and bet on only one element.>
  6. Hehe, alright, looks like I need to do some reading! Just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missed over, thanks for the heads up. EDIT: What I'm wondering about if there is a rough time-line you had in mind. Boomingham keeps referencing his time in the war, and says he served from 18 until 22, and still was out before the end and the fall of Ennon.
  7. Bricksandpart, I'd rather wait, just to catch my breath in the hall for a few more days, since we may be inactive in the quest and I'd prefer getting to chat with people while I get the chance. And I never got to say it (though I said a thank you to the QM), but it was great to Quest with all my Quest Mates from Quest 8. Finally, Sanders, Boomingham is waiting in the library for Byblos if you ever get time off from having a real life and running two Quests and answering all the questions in this thread and questing and, you know, all the other awesome stuff you do.
  8. The dice roll and come up as such: Darkness, Fire, Fire Dyric's Gold: 303 Haldor's Gold: 60 Tesni's Gold: 180 Skrall's Gold: 38
  9. Boomingham walks, huffing, into the library and plops down in a chair next to Byblos. "You're lucky your kind doesn't sweat Byblos," Boomingham remarks, whipping out a scarf and wiping his face. "My kind does sweat," Byblos informs Boomingham. Boomingham chuckles. "I guess that's why I come to you, and not the other way around. Say, there's been something that has been bugging me since I got here. I was in the Orcish invasion, but, you know what they say, hind-sight is twenty-twenty, and when you're in a war it's hard to tell which battles are important and which aren't, you know? So, well, what exactly happened during the Orcish Invasion? How long was it, when did Ennon fall, how were the Orcs defeated in the end, you know, all that."
  10. "If we're heading out tomorrow, I should go to the library... and say good bye to this beautiful drink once more... I guess this is the life of a hero, here one day, gone the next." Boomingham starts to leave when he trips over a small shade. "Watch where you're going chappo, some fellows may not be able to see you past their own bellies," Boomingham advises the small creature before patting him on the head. "You should get out of this hall again some time soon. It revitalizes the spirits, you know, and gets you away from the spirits, if you know what I'm talking about." Boomingham laughs and then heads off to the library.
  11. The man turns to them. "You do realize that with only three gold wagered on two colors, the most you can gain is three gold? Come on boys, I can see your pockets, you've got gold to spare! Bet big!"
  12. Boomingham marches into the marketplace humming a tune that no one hums anymore. He steps up to Anwyl first, and hands him The King of the Desert and his ruby. "Resmith this if you would, and maybe stick the ruby in there. I'll be adding a garnet and an amethyst as soon as I pick it up. And hell, stick a name on the side if you feel like it." Boomingham then goes over to Portia and gives her a quick kiss on the cheek. "Good to see you again, my love. I'll take four of those meads off of your hands... and... that's all I suppose." He hands Portia some gold. (197-(10x3)=167) Boomingham then goes back to Anwyl, and picks up his newly fashioned sword, now WP: 9 and a fire elemental. Scribbled words in some other language, probably some lose ancient language, which Boomingham assumed said the sword's name. (167-(90+50)=27) Boomingham walked back to the hall in high spirits, hoping he'd remember to use the mead when he needed it as opposed to when he wanted it.
  13. "Well, hey, I'm not going to knock your right to like those smelling little buggers, Mr. Marvelo. You have your right to your opinions, but I have yet to meet a Orc that has proven me wrong. I believe you will learn that I have a reason for my grudge. I could tell you story after story in which they cut down my people, the men I was responsible for. I won't bore you with it, but I could, my good fellow."
  14. "Rumors?! Boy, I must have told you at least twenty stories of my time in the army while we were out in that desert. All the sand probably eroded your brain away. Here, let me get it out of your head for you," Boomingham offers as he whacks Marvelo on the back of the head lightly. "Yes, I fought in the Orcish Invasion. I was there until... well, almost to the end. I got frozen in time for the last bit, actually. Aged twenty-two years... I really should go ask that Librarian how it all ended, it's like not knowing the end to a great story that you were actually part of. As for coming to Heroica... well, I didn't have many other places to go, did I? Kingdom was damn gone when I came out of my little time lock. I spent the remaining treasure and needed gold. I knew a few of the veterans, so I figured I'd go looking for them... well, clearly, they weren't still around, but their labors were. If you ask me, letting Orcs in rather goes against what they stood for, but then again, no one seems to ask Ol' Boomingham. Bah. I talk too much. What's your story Mr. Marvelo of the woods? What forced you out of solitude?" Before he forgets, Boomingham goes to sign up for Quest 21 and Quest 22, gesturing for Mr. Marvelo to follow him.
  15. "Mr. Marvelo, glad you're joining me," Boomingham grins as he sips his drink. "Did you look at the Quest board yet? Always a good idea to do, it's right down there on the way up to the bar, you know. What adventure do you think you'll be heading off on? I'm thinking that I should head off to the snowy regions. Those mages... well, I don't trust them, no offense to you or Nyx, but I haven't met many good mages beyond the two of you. What say you? I'd like to head out again with either you or Nyx, or the both of you! That wintry quest seems to have quite a few nice spoils for us, if you're feeling up to it! Besides, it could be the three of us!"
  16. "Hey, quiet down. Remember, here you're Rone the army trainer, not some rogue with a hard past. And would we all stop talking about how much we've suffered in the past... I'm sorry, I'm stressed. The town does not agree with me." The heroes enter the tavern, and make their way over to a smug looking man. "Felton tells me you want to gamble a bit?" "Remember, heroes, to make money on this game you need to bet big."
  17. Boomingham thrusts open the doors to the hall. "It's been ages!" he bellows happily. "But I am once more home! Where are my friends?! How is everyone? Bring me drink, bring me drink. Where is Thothwick, and Eric, and my dearest Tesni?! That little Imp Hybros, I haven't seen him once I left. And Nyx, if you're around, you owe me a drink off!" Boomingham saunters up to the bar, and greets his orc nemesis. "Scheherazade, how lovely to see you again. I will take one of every drink you have, I haven't had anything for ages. Where are my friends? What has passed since I left? Last thing I heard was that some folks were off to look around some sewers or something, and this arena business was going down? Anyone care to fill me in? Whatever happened with those Lion Knight chaps everyone was all up in arms about?"
  18. Capt.JohnPaul, as is custom, I would like to critique your quest. Pros - You were a fun QM, and I certainly can't take that away from you. You were positive the whole time, made fun of the characters the right amount, put up with my incessant complaining about the speed, etc. You also had some real nice pictures, and I enjoyed the quest as a whole. Further more, I'm aware that hosting (having just started by second quest) takes up a TON of time and energy, and I appreciate everyone who hosts, you included. Thanks so much! Cons - I won't rag on you for the time anymore, you know that it was a long quest. Not that I'd be opposed to a three month long quest, but with only a little under 40 pages, it felt really slow, and we didn't do much. I will offer a way to improve, however, as I don't want to just complain and not offer help. In the future, I would be more careful about how many options you give. For example, the last option of returning to Cathargo could have been cut... there wasn't anything else to do, so why give us the choice. Also, some puzzles weren't puzzle so much as... events. The red v. black tiles... there was no way to "figure that out", so it wasn't a challenge so much as a guess. This game has enough luck already, let us make tough choices, it will spice it up for us. Once more, thank you, great job, room for improvement!
  19. Super clever. The minifigures as the... well, mini figures is a great idea, and even before I read the description I glanced the picture and was like "that looks a lot like bowling, I wonder what he was really going for". Turns out, it was bowling. I love the stockings and gutters, very inventive and fun MOC!
  20. OoC: Since there isn't really another option, can't you assume so?
  21. The party travels into town, leaving behind Hans and Sir Poletad, the first of who goes back to sleep, and the second of which hops around shooting his tongue out at passing insects. The group arrives in town, and Felton offers them a choice. "Heroes, I do not think that we have much time, I do not like going to the town. I don't want to draw attention to myself, or, more importantly, to you. You have two options. You may either go to the bar and gamble with a man that I know, or, alternatively, you could go with me to a black market merchant. Either one is your call. We will do them both, the order is all that matters."
  22. <WBD, what do you want to do? If you don't speak up I'm going to pick town, but if you want to do something else, please speak up. Sorry to bother, I'm sure there's something on your plate!>
  23. I love your pokemon man! I think you're doing a really nice job with the series. In this case, I think it looks a little off. Still instantly recognizable, but a little off. The bottom of his mouth is not as rounded as I feel it should be, and seems to hang out a little more than it should. The back of the neck loses some roundness too, but the fact that I only have two, minor suggestions proves how nice it is! I'd also improve the photography, the model is great but the pictures are a little blurry and I don't know if you're doing your work justice.
  24. I have to say that I'm really happy that so many heroes are going to war at the same time. It is obvious that things are becoming a little bit darker in the world of Heroica. Quest 17, 16, and 19 all heavily involve war.
  25. "That, my friends, is true swords play. I have no idea who this San Di was, but I'm happy I killed him. He was a worthy opponent. I shall now officially name my sword 'Desert King'." Boomingham laughs. "It's a dumb name, but I think naming swords in the first place are dumb, they're just swords. Anyway, let's see if we can see where this key goes, see if the Smithy will reimburse us for this unused canteens since we can't use them anywhere else, and then hop on a ship home. Nyx, Marvelo, Sylph, Barur, it's been a pleasure serving with each one of you, though Sylph, I'm still hoping that you'll treat us to what lies under that mask."
