Boomingham looks at the quest Board long and hard, considering his options. Four heroes that he knows would potentially be departing. Sylph and Nyx had remained behind while and and Marvelo had set out to investigate the frozen lands with Benji, and he would relish the chance to quest with either of them again. Sylph's appearance remained intriguing, and Nyx was no question good company, for a mage. His quasi-side-kick, Mr. Marvelo, would also be setting out with them, and Benji, who had proven his worth, would also be gone. He doesn't know the two remaining members... Boomingham is torn. He would love to quest with these people again, but he does not want to help the Zeigfrieds. He debates which is worse, being left alone in an empty hall, or helping mages that he disliked and distrusted along heroes he already knew. Boomingham needed to expand his circle. Boomingham bit his lip, and then walked away from the Questboard. Barty hovers near the quest board after Boomingham has departed, and working hard with his petit wings and petit arms, picks up the small hunk of charcoal near the sign-ups and scribbles Boomingham, Paladin under Quest 21. Huffing and puffing, Barty drops the charcoal on the floor and zips quickly after Boomingham, trying to catch up.

OoC: I'm taking it that no one wants to wait and we can just get this show on the road? WBD, I'm assuming you'd take Poletad as it is your last chance to do so and you're allowed to, but if you'd prefer to not, just send him back to camp! Felton stops outside the doors to a giant factory. The heroes peer around. There are no guards. "The surest sign of impending war. They've abandoned their factories, they're consolidating their forces. We have a long way ahead of us. Follow me, heroes." The party enters the factory. Felton walks over to the anvil and brushes his hand over it, and then walks over to the fire, slips a hand into his pocket, and then seems to think better of it and whips it out to instead warm it at the fire. The flames crackle loudly. Smith Station - Heroes may improve their weapons by 1 WP (bold your action if you would like to do this). Oh well, while we're telling our creation stories. I want a cowboy-like character, because I wanted to create an unlikable likable person. There seemed to be too many hot-headed/happy-go-lucky/genuinely good people in the hall when I first joined. I stand by the idea, I think there's still too many of them. Boomingham hates mages and Orcs, is rather creepy with gals, doesn't believe in gods, and is a political and social climber. That being said he is a genuinely happy person, and while he thinks everyone likes him even if it's not the case, he does truly like everyone (minus most mages and all orcs). I have him being sealed away because I think it's important that he's rather out of the loop, but still young, and it's a concept that intrigues me. I know his back story (though most of the specific war stories are on the spot), and I have only one idea of what his future will hold. I don't need future plans, those come from the quests. He still has a lot of back story to be told, especially if you read over the stuff he's said, you'll notice Boomingham is a liar, and that you don't know that much IMPORTANT information about him. He was a king and general and was frozen in time, but that's all we've got so far. The circumstances of both going into freezing and coming out of freezing are unknown. Class came from me thinking Knights would be useful. I went Paladin because it fit, and we need healers, and I want Boomingham to be lively, and with that Health boost plus the ability to heal himself, plus the shield, plus the ability to heal himself, he will never be KO'd. The name is self-explaining, I think.

Maybe not playing was your implosion. Anyway, thanks for the awards! They are fun and a great way to look back at the year!

The heroes travel back to Samuel. "Ai, I get it, but you're only getting twenty troops from me then. I'll settle things with Haddock myself, when the time comes, until the battles, I will not be seeing you, heroes." Samuel turns back to the training, the heroes return home. At camp Felton greets them and they all settle down quickly... ------ And wake up the next morning. It is the final morning before war will be declared by the Rebels on the town of Haddon. The heroes arise and prepare themselves to complete their final objective: clear the third factory.

Thanks! I actually did have a bit of a panic when I originally saw the new classes, but I think a Paladin works well. They seem to share his racist qualities, and he WAS actually a general and leader, so a support class makes sense. I'm chilling in the hall for a while, perhaps we'll get to quest with each other, finally, when you return!

OoC: Boomingham has not, for story purposes, re-entered the Hall. He'll enter now, and you'll be paid, don't worry. The doors to the hall burst open, and Boomingham walks in, swinging his hips, walking with determination in his step, two bewautiful swords clipped to his side. This entrance is not unlike Boomingham's original entrance, though this time he has a new feeling to him. He is more confident. And a little, tiny, itty bitty angelic figure sits on his shoulder. Boomingham surveys the room. His eyes dart back and forth, taking in each figure in the room. His closes his eyes tightly, and smiles widely. "This is my realm now," he whispers to himself. His angelic buddy is the only person who hears, and he keeps silent. Boomingham saunters over to Sylph first, sitting, meditating at the bar. Boomingham plops his gait into a chair next to him, and the chair squeaks and sags in protest. "Here's the gold I owe you, buddy boy." Boomingham grabs a small coin purse, a deep red (20 gold, from the gold ore), out of his pack, and tosses it up before slamming it into the bar. "Thank you for the loan. I do not forget who has treated me well. I hope to serve again with you, some day." Boomginham hops off the chair... or rather, slides off energetically, and makes his way over to the table where his two quest mates sit. He produces two more coin purses from his sack (30 gold each, from the gold ore) and drops them heavily onto the table. He does not sit down. "Here you blokes go. As I said, it was a pleasure serving with you." The two heroes eye the little angelic figure on Boomingham's shoulder. Boomingham takes the questioning looks as his cue to sit, and he slides into another creaking and protesting chair. "Yeah, I'm a Paladin now, but don't tell anyone, I don't know if the order will track we down or not, but if possible I'd like to avoid visiting them. Ennoc, Ennon, bunch of phooey, they're all loonies. Some of them are quite nice and brave loonies, fought along side a few of them in the war, but loonies none the less." The angelic figure looks prepared to speak, but Boomingham holds up a finger. "This is Barty. I have instructed Barty to not talk. He's a little bugger, and I'd be better off without him if I didn't need him for all the healing work. Barty, why have I instructed you to not speak?" Barty does not answer. Boomingham laughs. "Bless my heart he's already growing on me. He's a smart little bugger. I don't want to get all buddy-buddy with him. It seems this hall already has too many comedic duos. I'm not going for that with Barty here. We'll work with each other, but that's it. Isn't that right, Barty?" Barty remain silent. "Good man!"

"There's a good lady." "You'll have my troops." Haddock becomes a little uncomfortable on the Chaos Beasts. He grumbles and looks at the ground. "I hate those monsters, the idea of either side using them... but no, I'm afraid, or rather lucky, I guess, that I've never run into them. I am an alchemist, Chaos is something different. Only Wren truly understands it. It is a mixture of many things that I don't wish to delve into - necromancy, magic... and opening rifts that I don't like. Not one bit. But do you must to win, I suppose."

Sylvia steps forward to check out the knobs. How beautiful! I shall have to put these in a house some day! Sylvia tries pushing the knobs in the following combos: Front Right to Back Right, then Back Left to Front Left Front Left to Back Left, then Back Right to Front Right Alternating sides (front left, front right, secondary front left, secondary front right, etc.) She tries it four times - once starting front left, once starting back left, once starting front right, one starting back right.

I do love walls. I love walls so much I think I'm going to go knock on all of the walls in this room. That's a practical way to spend my time while you go fishing, you slackers. I wonder if any of them will be hollow! Some, under the archways on the right and left of the room, look like doors to me. *I got and knock on all the walls.*

Oh this is ridiculous! I'm assuming that once more, no one is bleeding? And shall we all cloth ourselves?! Thank you very much. I'm assuming that it would be foolhardy to share whatever clues we gathered yesterday, but I ask those who received the clues to be on watch for the sake of the rest of us. *Just to make sure there are no clues we're missing in this regard, I would like to see if anyone is bleeding, and check the floor/pool/ceiling for places that the blood could have come from.*

Boomingham throws open the doors to the training hall and bellows to Copper Fox. "Hello sir! Greetings, greetings, I've been dying to meet a veteran, but I haven't felt worthy until just about now. I have made my choice about how I would like my heroing career to advance, chappo. I feel the holy calling! A paladin is the way for me!" Boomingham pulls Copper Fox in, Boomingham's arm around his shoulder, and whispers. "Now, listen, I'm telling you this in confidence, but I'm not a holy man. I think it's a whole lot of mumbo jumbo. But, well, I'm a general, ladies-man, and King, and if people want to believe some god up there is looking after me, well, I'll let them be so inclined." Boomingham lets the man go, and holds a finger to his fat lips. "Don't tell. Now, it says here that I have a 'Holy Companion'? What's that all about?" Lord Lawrence Boomingham, Level 15½ Paladin 44 years old Male Human Power: 24 Health: 35/35 Ether: 1/1

Boomingham does not stop at the Hall after he gets off the ship. He walks with a bounce in his heavy steps straight to the Eubric Marketplace. Boomingham smiles. He has completed three quests totally successfully, and recently led his first one. He feels... in command once more. This is what he is supposed to do. He is a leader. He is a King. Boomingham walks straight to Anwyl and tosses him both his weapons and his diamond and amethyst. "Be careful with that frozen one, it can give you chills right down the spine. I want the amethyst in the King of the Desert and the diamond in the Frozen Saber... which I will have to rename some day." Boomingham hands over 100 gold (175-100 = 75). "I must continue on my way, but have those items sent to the hall when they're done." Boomingham bustles out of the marketplace.

The Curse of IMHOTEP - Day Three
Zepher replied to Pandora's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ishaq Ettaq brings up the most compelling point. Vote: Mustafa Nidia (Brickdoctor) -
"I have no interest in faking my death. Samuel must know I'm alive if I'm alive, we both plan to fight in the upcoming battles, how would you expect to 'keep me dead'? And all humans look similar to me, so stop saying all us orcs look the same."

The Curse of IMHOTEP - Day Three

Let us deal with one thing at a time. If Shelia is taken out, and if she is a cultist, then we worry about protecting Papa Smurf. Right now I am ready to vote for Shelia, what is her defense? It appears the two of us were talking at the same time. Does Papa Smurf have the mirror cloak? If so, I'm less trustful of him, it still seems wrong. -
The heroes proceed with Hans through the mountains until the reach a decent sized shack against the mountains. The door is thrown open for them and an Orc, Haddock, ushers them in. "Hello, hello, come in quickly. I assume that you have just come from visiting Samuel. That bastard wants me dead for no damn reason, I'll swear it. He did tell you to kill me, yes? Well, you won't, not unless you're stupid, which I won't rule out yet, but you don't seem too stupid, no, no. I'm sorry. Tea anyone?" Haddock puts on some tea, and then turns to the heroes. "What'd he offer you? You know what, doesn't matter. Here's my counter-offer. I have five troops, which I will give to you either way. But if you kill Samuel for me, I'll throw in something personal. I'm a alchemist, of sorts, and I have three vials of something I call "Thick Skin Potion". You kill Haddock for me, and I'll give you the vials." Thick Skin Potion - A permanent +1 to health. What would the heroes like to do? (Kill Haddock, Kill Samuel, Kill Neither)

I already tried, and think I dislocated something. That's what happens when you miss Pilates this many weeks in a row.

Oh... shiznits, if you'll excuse my french. William, get the hell out of there! Diesel, you are being a nasty. Can we do something about the thing in the pool? Throw the staircase at it... the beautifully crafted stair case... to try to get it to surface, and if it's a nasty, maybe conk it over the head.

Heroica RPG - Quest#22: Winter Problems
Zepher replied to Bricksandparts's topic in The Heroica Archive
Boomingham goes to the shop and gives up 150 gold to get his uncut gems turned into gems. He then boars the ship that is heading back to the Hall, and waits for his fellow heroes. OoC: 175 gold left. Won't post in the hall until we're all ready to go, since we have to travel back by ship. Thanks for the Quest! -

OoC: Final question, pinky promise. What, exactly, do the Jo-No Nuts do at this point? Also, I apparently did not get rewarded. -

"I'll take an amethyst and a diamond. That potion goes to Benji." Boomingham bows to the Village Elder. "You have valiant men and a valiant family. I hope you have many more years of good health and fortune." Boomingham then turns to his Quest mates. "Benji, you were quite the companion. Thank you. Marvelo, you continued to prove to me that mages are all bad, except a few, and I've been lucky enough to find one of the goodun's. Thank you too." -
Ooooo. Would you look at those pillars? Beauties, all of them. I'm afraid I'm a little distracted right now, and with so many people having already solved the puzzle, I feel my skills would be more useful elsewhere.

The party treks through the mountains with Hans as Felton walks off in another direction, the same way the heroes went to get to Vonnetate's camp. After a few hours the party arrives at the training grounds of the next Rebel, who greets them warmly and gets right down to business. The name is Samuel, and I ain't gonna sugar coat any of this fer ya lot. I'll give you twenty troops either way, no questions asked, but I'll give you a total of forty troops if you do me a favor. Go and kill that bastard Haddock. He thinks of himself as some leader, and I won't play games with ya, I don't like him, not one bit. Never can trust Orcs, and he's one of the worst! When we ransack that castle and rip off that McColt's head, I don't want him around. So, all you got to do is go kill him, and that's that. It isn't for any other reason other than the fact that he's a pompous prick. Alright?" Hans says a few words to Samuel and pulls the heroes aside. "We can go visit Haddock before we take Samuel's deal, heroes. He is an understanding man, and honest, in his way, I guess. So, he says you can go meet with Haddock before choosing anything. He thinks you'll hate Haddock as much as he does, of course." What will the heroes do?
