  1. "Look at that Nur. Good thing you didn't listen to a word I said!" Boomingham bellows with laughter. "No reason to not go again. Everyone feeling good? Good." Boomingham continues his attack.
  2. Boomingham hefts his sword. "You're going in my inn room," Boomingham tells the rug as he swings at it, same weapon, same row. "Nur, if you wouldn't mind attacking this round when you can't be hurt, and sealing next round, where a miss won't result in damage to yourself, I think that would be optimal. Right, chappo?"
  3. Boomingham stares at the rug, shocked. Docken had been with them seconds before. "Get out of my head, Barty," Boomingham bellows. "I don't need thoughts of Ennoc now. Or ever, for that matter. Nur, since you're speedy and all, I'd appreciate it if you'd pull our leader out of the jaws of the beast. We're going to need him, that beasty is still doing well, even with your hits. Haldor, bring him back with your Phoenix essence, would you? I can do more damage than you with my King of the Desert. Jess, you're sticking with me for a full forward attack." Boomingham raises his sword and slashes at the creature from the front row once more. OoC: Boomingham is bossy, I'm not. If you don't agree with my suggestions, ignore them. I won't be offended, pinky promise.
  4. And before we sound too harsh, I really don't think anyone would be opposed to them if they were used for roleplaying only. Or, at least I wouldn't be. Can't speak for everyone.
  5. I've given this thought too. I already knew if you were chosen for a quest of mine, your journal would be taken away for the time being. Again, for roleplaying it seems fine. No one wants to limit that, and if you want to hand out journals to talk to everyone in the hall all the time, I'd honestly be a-okay with that. However, I agree it's a bit of a game breaker when everyone can help with every quest. It's like when you're dead in Mafia and still help out your team - it's just not that fair. NPC index has finally been updated with everything I've been sent. If anything you've sent me is missing, please tell me! I've omitted some very minor characters that were sent, but other than that, everyone should be there. That means I get to start Round 2. Sandy, when you have time, send me the ends of Q14 & 15. Sham and Reno are the two that spring to mind that I think are MIA. Also, any changes to the end of people's bios. BD, you need to send me the end of Q17 NPCs. Anyone else who is missing NPCs, the format is below. [insert Picture Here] (Character Name) - (Character Race) - (Character’s Allegiance) Appeared in: Quest ##, ##, ##, etc. Bio: [Plug in any relevant information here, specifically their background, character traits, and how they’ve affected the heroes and the adventures of Heroica Hall] (Current Status [At Large, Missing, Dead, etc.]) And give it a read! It's pretty interesting, I think. We've got a very rich world out there.
  6. OoC: Despite it's name, the Frozen Saber is not a ice elemental, but rather a light one. When I get my hands on an opal, that will change, but for the time being...
  7. I love challenges. I think it's a perfect enemy. I'm already enjoying the Quest. Mystery, puzzles, strong enemies, beautiful settings... just like the Salamanda Quest, I feel like this is a diverse and colorful Quest. Exactly what I think fantasy should be.
  8. "Spies, traitors. Someone must have planted that rug so it would eat Blue Hood. Good thing I said to come here or the thing may have digested him. Bleh. Well, what are you waiting for. The thing is clearly demon spawn, Lawrence, you can go ahead and kill it." "Thanks for the blessing," Boomingham grumbles. "I'm glad you're okay with selective killing." "Of course. The virtuous are always responsible to eliminate evil." Boomingham raises his Shadeux shield. He had been hoping to run into Umbra at the docks. No such luck. Just magical heads and rugs. "Alright blokes, behind me. Nur, Docken, stick to the far reaches of the shop, don't let it near you." Boomingham slashes at the rug with his King of the Desert from the front row. "Docken, what would you prefer? This baby will singe if I use my King of the Desert, but he'll be stunned for a turn - near frozen solid - if I use my other blade. What's your call, sir?"
  9. Boomingham removes the rug 100% tablecloth style with a powerful whisk of his great arms.
  10. Boomingham yanks up the rug and tosses it in a corner, looking for a secret lair.
  11. WBD - loving the Lion Rug. I was young and naive. My second one had personal written riddles that I personally thought were pretty clever. I'm an offender. Sometimes QM's (including my self) need a poke in the ribs to get a move on.
  12. "Waves? Rains? Can't we just lope this head off and go inside. Or just go inside and leave him alone. Have we tried the door? Is it locked?"
  13. "Ignorant bliss?" "Honor?" "Selflessness?" "Where are you getting these?" "He said it's something heroes seek but don't have. I'm listing your missing qualities."
  14. "Lawrence, that was very decent what you did back there, I've never been-" begins Barty. "Stuff it," says Boomingham, sidling over to the man with a bottle, keeping an eye on Docken at the door, ready to jump to his defense at the first sign of danger. "Hello, chappo. Care to spare a sip for a king?"
  15. ...should I know what everyone is referring to...?
  16. I actually did give pause while writing that. EVERYONE in the hall drinks heavy amounts, but I don't know if other players use alcoholism as a defining character trait... though there is of course the high possibility that I missed it.
  17. Appearance came after character sketch. I wanted a kind of wonky non-heroic heroic character. People in the world aren't all good or all bad. I choose some character traits I thought would be fun to play off of each other, and that other heroes wouldn't have. The good things I choose: Boomingham is fearless and daring and in a lot of ways, I try to make him cow-boy-esque: he is very gung-ho. He's also always up for a fun time, and likes nearly everyone. He is a decent commander, I think. I also think he's charming on a certain level, and he takes a fatherly interest in many of the young gals of Heroica. He also is noble in his own way, and very loyal. Alternatively: Boomingham is racist (something I knew from the start he must be) because I thought that would be a trait people wouldn't play up much. He doesn't like mages, something I decided when I finally fully sketched out his back story a few months into the game. He is as far as I know, up to this point, the only heavy alcoholic in Heroica. He is a social ladder climber and loves money. He is often in debt, as other players may or may not have noticed. He is bitter. He has zero nostalgia, which, while it exists as a defense, bothers me sometimes. He is sometimes very hard for me to play. I am not like him in nearly anyway.
  18. Dear couples of Heroica: I want to see a break up some time soon. Just thought I'd tell everyone I'm pulling for it. Life isn't perfect, not even for the Heroicains. Come on, I know at least two of you want that juicy character building. Also, question about the classes... it seems to me that the Knight's only real advantage was that they had SP. That has been given to all the classes now... what's the reason for that?
  19. Quest 30 sign-ups.
  20. "Well, wasn't that nasty? I want to go after Blue Hood first." Boomingham realizes that in all honesty, beyond the hall, the market, and his inn, he hasn't seen all that much of Eubric. He visited the Warehouse district only once, and it's the only other place he knows. Now that the fire is out, he assesses his fellow party members. Nur is a decent man, as far as Boomingham can tell. He seems smart and he sold Boomingham the diadem that he now has snuggled under his helmet. Haldor too is a famaliar and friendly face. Barty has clearly already taken a liking to him, and whizzes around his head. Boomingham has noticed that Barty seems to take to strong noble looking men. His disappointment in being saddled with Boomingham was not lost on Boomingham. He figured it was just a misunderstanding. Jess was another old friend, one of his first from the hall. Boomingham hadn't quested with her yet. He was excited to see what she had. Finally, Docken rounded out the party. He seemed cool under fire, and his shield was a work of art. This was someone who may end up an ally of Boomingham.
  21. "Well, that was a shock," grumbles Boomingham. "I'll leave that bad boy to you, Jess, you seem to be having better luck with it then I. This could get nasty pretty quick. Ah well, onwards and upwards." Boomingham attacks the Flaming Storage Tanks with his Frozen Saber from the front row.
  22. I don't know if I'll have any returning heroes from previous Wren Quests as of right now. I get to play with a whole new pack of heroes.
  23. "I'll happily take that gem out of its place. I think we've got time. Once in the war I took a lone mage, before I knew they were not to be trusted on the large part, sorry Nur, and we waited in ambush for the Orcs to come running along. They passed under a rocky outcrop that we were going to make collapse onto them with a rock, we had one chance to get them, and if we didn't hit them at EXACTLY the right moment the survivors would get us. We did it. Mind you, Fireize was scum of the earth, but his shot was good. Still should have wrung his ne-" One of Boomingham's sleeves has caught fire. Barty whisks forward and seriously pats it out while screaming at him. "For the love of Ennoc, Lawrence, attack! Blathering old blathering fool." Boomingham attacks the Repository Left from the front row.
  24. OoC: I assume so... I can take the damage, and its very Boomingham to go ahead and charge in to a fire.
  25. Boomingham flies at the machine with no regard to personal safety. "By the gods, I guess someone has to do something. Morannannais, direct me, why don't you? Tell me what to hit and what to smash. Barty, if you see me going up in flames, patch up my skin or what have you. Haldor, be a pal and lend a hand to the healing too if need be." Boomingham fiddles with the machine. He will get as close as need be, and will expend any and all ether necessary to prevent himself from becoming a charred crisp.
