  1. He is not favoring both types. They are weak against the same elements, but are technically different types of monsters.
  2. I did, I just accidentally hid it and made it seem like it was opening the post. As in, the health will be subtracted from you guys. Again, good luck!
  3. OoC: Why only encouraged for the first round? Sobering up rather quickly. "This time? I can hardly remember fighting you last time. Ah, what the Hel. Same rules as with the Rocklings, chaps, leave them alive. If you want to give that fancy new scroll a try, now would be the time, Ellaria. My counterstriking could do wonders with it." Boomingham draws Scupperer and slashes at Colby from the front row. "You two take the strangely clothed cadets." Battle Order Boomingham Harkenshire Ellaria
  4. You guys... sorry, I really didn't expect you to split up into three parties, so... this is your punishment... battles that were balanced for about half the party... maybe this will make you guys think more carefully when presented with too many chooses later on...
  5. OoC: Will fix the SP and bright armor. Sorry, there was lots. Dark and Demon are separated by a "/", so read it as "demon humanoid", which I think might be susceptible to... nothing diamonds actually would still work... Gnash should be at perfect health, I apologize, again, there was a lot. "Will do, Cronk. Perhaps we should have heeded the Dark Lady's warning. She is evil, but she is smart. I don't relish dying today." "Aw you old sorry put, we can take them easy. Stiff under lip, keep your sword up, and fight to the last breath."
  6. OoC: 'Fraid it's too late. You've had lots of time, sorry.
  7. I think Quest 42 has got to be the most paranoid and stingy party of all time.
  8. "I'm actually not overly fond of games, believe it or not. There is one I like however." The door of the shop opens, and four figures with no skin walk in menacingly. "You see how many of my friends you can kill, and I'll see how many of your friends I can kill. Simple game." 9. OoC: Your power will be corrected! And you forgot to speak nice to her and get her to lick your cheek again. The Apothecary's eyes nearly bulge out of his head when the heroes don't leave. "I told you, we're closed. Please leave me alone. I don't want any trouble. Just, go on your way. I can't just let heroes in here all of the time. They nearly burned it down last time. Hel, this place burns down so often, we have to rebuild it about once a month." The man keeps sweating. His eyes keep darting under the counter. "Now, go along, go away." "Surprise," says a low gravelly voice as an Orc in a Jester Hat rises from behind the counter as well. "You can calm down, Peter. You are welcome. Hello, heroes. My name is Zane." The Orc's voice is low and monotone. "I am the jester to the Court of Demons. Are you here to stop me from activating this spire? I'm afraid I can't let that happen. Which means you have two choices. You walk out, or you fight me." ----------------- "Hello Nyx, hello Dyric, hello Atramor. It's a pleasure to meet all of you. Now, you've told me that you're heroes from Heroica, and that you're on a picnic. Slightly different stories, but that's okay." Zee gives a convincing smile. "You speak of another Chaos User. I assume you are referring to the Dark Lady Wren. Zoot has warned us all about her, don't worry, they aren't on good terms. We're here to let him into the world before she's able to steal his power, so that he can swallow her, and then us, and then the city, and then-" Zee freezes. She stares at Thothwick. "You. I know you. What is your name, ape?"
  10. I'll warn you guys when we get to perma-KO. There will be a plot point explaining it and everything, don't worry!
  11. The Bladearang had a chance to assassinate all enemies when it hit them in Q39, as per Sandy's ruling. EDIT: I also can't remember, but I'm pretty sure, ALL weapon's effects are only used if it's a physical attack, spells disregard them, right? So the explosive staff and book, when used by Nyx, would only have the ability to do it's 1/2 to everyone or summon when she physically attacks?
  12. OoC: What happened to the good old days when everyone just used their own items. CHECK THIS, I tried to keep a sheet, but if something is off, correct it. And remember... you were warned to not split your forces three ways... The heroes march into the Apothecary and glance around. None of them had been there previously, but if they'd had, they'd notice that it was markedly different. The clerk glances up nervously as they enter. "Go away, we're closed for the day," he says nervously, glancing behind the counter. "I don't want any trouble." They make their way through the twists and turns, guided by Vipera, until finally she tells them that they are coming up on the spire up ahead. They glance down an alley. It is a dead-end, but there are figures at the end, and a startling bright blue light. They walk towards it and begin to hear voices. "Come along, Zander. We have a job to do. Mephisto won't like it if we're late because you spent too much time electrocuting some poor dead guard." The heroes finally make out the scene. A man, Zander, presumedly, stands electrocuting a very dead member of the City Watch, his skin burned gray. A woman in all red stands next to him tsking. "Hehehehe. I'm just killing time! Don't worry, we'll not be late." "What are you waiting for?" Zander wheels around, and the guard falls out of the air, hitting the ground with a thud. "Here they are! The voice in my head said that she might be sending me some new friends to play with. She said that they'd be harder to light up then the guards." "Oh. Hello heroes. I'm afraid we're on a bit of a schedule, so there's not much time for introductions. I am the Magacian of the Court of Demons, this is Zander, Prince of Power. I assume you're here for us. We're prepared to fight." A few more of their associates step forward, and the heroes begin their first fight with the court of Demons. 13. "We're heroes of Heroica investigating a murder and trying to return some cloths to their rightful owner. Surely that doesn't upset anyone in the Bonaparte family. If we were to make use of any of your services, we would pay up. I'm Lord Lawrence Boomingham, by the by."
  14. OoC: Your battles will start tomorrow! The different parties trudge out after exchanging a few items (will rectify the phoenix essences, and will move around the crown/gloves/scarf/etc). As they march, they are left to their thoughts.
  15. OoC: Phil will be coming with you as well.
  16. Special thanks to Endgame for our most recent interlude! Gotta love those snarky Proggs. Now, I'm off to build an apothecary and my version of the Hovels. :roflmao:
  17. <I'm afraid that my species is not able to access the Plane of Azazot. I guess that could be a possibility. Your city is very hard to navigate by magical means, there are many anomalies I cannot understand.> The Gray Wizard looks up from his readings. "Sycamore hid the towers using ether. We just don't have the time to figure out how she did it, and in all honesty, we wouldn't take their cloaking off them if we could. The Court likewise does not draw its power from Azazot, I believe. Or, at least no more than one of them do. I have looked at the wanter posters that Bennetton has been distributing, and I have reason to believe-" The Gray Wizard is cut off as Wren's voice floods into the hero's heads. "Hello dearies. I thought I'd come and say hello. I've gotten some reports from my generals saying that you're not taking my advice and staying out of my way. I thought I'd made our positions perfectly clear this time. You stay out of my way, I don't kill you. It's very very simple, you see? But you're not playing the way I wanted you to, which I guess should be no surprise. So I've thought up a game to keep you busy. I'm hearing a lot of blah blah blah about the Court of Demons, but what good is talk, right? Wouldn't ya'll just jump at the chance to meet them? Three spires, one in the Hovels, one in the cemetery, one at the apothecary. Don't stretch yourselves too thin, my loves. These ladies and gents pack a punch." Wren's voice recedes as quickly as it came upon them, and Vipera cries out sharply. Felton dashes to her as the Gray Wizard begins to viscously thumb through books. "What was that?" asks Gnash, holding his head. "Why can she speak inside our heads?" "You will get used to it," Felton says as sardonically as ever. "Vipera, what is troubling you?" <I do not know, Master Felton. I- I sense something strange. Something unworldly. I believe Wren was hiding it before, but now she has uncovered it. There are- they are moving towards where she said. Three strange creatures. They do not make sense in the Spirit Pools. They are both alive and dead, but they are not undead.> "Well, Wren is right about a few things. Talk can only do so much. It is time for us to see what this Court of Demons is all about. She's also right in saying we can't stretch ourselves too thin. It may be important that we allow some spires to be opened. If we try to stop every spire, we may not have enough man power. This time, heroes, I am coming with you. Hans, stay here and help the Gray Wizard with his grunt paper work. Vipera, you must remain behind as well to coordinate." "Gnash must head to the Hovels, if there is a group going there. My section of the City Watch is meant to protect that area, and we will when we can. Cronk, divide up your men, and let's get rolling." [iNTERLUDE - LUOSH] Two seasoned Proggs sit in an underground cavern, their eyes occasionally glancing up over their hands - hands of cards, of course. A large stone table separates the two comrades, locked in a battle of wits and will power. Or, in other words, poker. 2 spaces are unfortunately empty, their normal occupants slain in combat. A single candle lights the room as the Proggs compete in the dank cavern, isolated from the rest of the Progg forces. Water drips from the ceiling of the room, providing an eerie yet seren atmosphere for the two "combatants". The Suffering and The Regret eye their cards carefully, and converse with each other over their game. "Yet another member of the Gladius Unit slain." "Apparently so. Even Vanguard's colossal ego wasn't enough to save the pompous Progg." "In the Murkwood, Prometheus. Why didn't you kill them? Why are letting all of the princes... all of our friends... die?" "Come now, Bellum. Surely you know that when ever I am involved, the line between the living and the dead is blurred pass recognition." The Regret snickers, but The Suffering glares at him. "You're planning something, Prometheus. I know you are. I can feel it, you old man. The snickering ceases, and this time it is Prometheus glaring. "Odd, I am feeling something too. Annoyance at your remark calling me "old man", for starters. Secondly. Chaos." "What? So you're saying there is a disturbance in the force or some sort of other demon dung? With all due respect, Sir: I think you're going mad." "I am currently sustaining 25 conversations, 24 of them with dead people, and one with the likes of you. My mind is a formidable thing, Bellum. I think I can detect something as simple as a raise in Chaos. The avian Progg was getting frustrated with his superior, to say the least- he was dangerously close to nearly jumping over the table and throttling him. he instead lashes out with his tongue, not his fists. "Are you sure you are not simply detecting the heroes slaughtering more of our men?!" The Regret remains unfazed by The Suffering's anger, and continues. "Calm down, child. I already told you: the line between life and death is blurred when I am around. And no, I am not. I have the feeling that this entire invasion is just one little blip in the grand scheme of things. Sure, it may seem large to us all right now, no doubt. But I think something far bigger is brewing here in Uland. Something that reeks of chaos. And I can't stand it." [iNTERLUDE - CONCLUDED]
  18. "Looks like we're off to Warehouse 3. We'll tell you if we find anything of interest."
  19. <No bad word. I had told Skrall earlier, in all likelihood Wren does not know that those spires exist. Sycamore, whoever she was, did a good job of hiding them. They don't show up in the Spirit Pools, or the Ethereal Plane. Every other spire that Master Felton and the Gray Wizard has found, I've been able to sense, once they tell me where to look. These ones are more troublesome.> Vipera cocks her head more. <You live in a truly magnificent city, Master Gibbin. I have never seen more magic in one place, other than perhaps Drakencourt, and we have existed for a much longer time. You have an oracle, those are rare, and I sense many more things. These Aoi, what are they? I have never felt something like them before? And the Zeigfrieds? I sense a Dragon somewhere below too, I have tried to contact it, but there is so much magical noise, I am having trouble.>
  20. Thank you all, it does appear that I'm on the road to recovery, so the quest should be back up to speed as of tomorrow! We're going at a good pace so far.... coming up on the perma-KO part.
  21. OoC: Everyone, please re-check your stats, I feel like something may have slipped through the cracks between Grogmas gifts/loot distribution/shopping. Thothwick, this goes for you in particular, I just copy pasted from your Hero Statistics page, but I don't know if that is up to date! Pandy, I saw you check the thread, so I decided to move ahead. If you wish to have made a purchase, then you can do so in *flashback*. With their shopping done, the party makes it's way back to the City Watch Barracks as well. Johnny tosses the second party their Grogmas gifts, grinning, but with less fan-fare than the previous party had. "Merry Grogmas, heroes." 22. Sorry all, still fighting off this nasty fever-cold hybrid that came my way, but I'll update as soon as Nyx goes shopping!
  23. Boomingham raises a quizzical eyebrow and whispers to William. "Perhaps it would be best if you'd stop trying to ransack the office while we're talking to this man. And keep your voice down about the gold. The numbers don't quite add up, I'd like to talk to whoever had Spad running errands before we hand this gold off to anyone."
  24. Boomingham scratches his head. "Red dust, missing gold... look, we'd like to help you rectify this situation, but you've got to give us something to work with. Have you seen anyone employing a little pumpkin looking man around here? Do your records say anything about lead sales? It's possible that your missing gold and the man we're after are connected, this employer seems less and less a savory character with every passing moment."
  25. "I can't sell you that for 60, sir, or my bosses will kill me. Trust me, if I told them you saved my life, they'd think nothing of it. 75 is the price I can go to." "The remedy is all your's! I'll round down, why not, a nice Paladin like you."
