Parts from other themes that go well with Castle
Dwarvenlord replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Technic sets are great to build machines from for the Dwarvenfaction. I always liked the idea of Dwarves with axes and a modern thing together, but I haven't build something like that yet . I've seen a few steammachines on this forum. Also are aliens from Starwars nice for goblins and orcs, and the Indiana Jones and other adventure sets are also very good for caste mini figs and buildings. -
Wow, thats an impressive MOC. I like the hoisting crane very much, give my more pictures! It just looks great!
-
Wow, that's a good idea indeed! But if it'll break the neck bracelet, i'm not going to try it. I have a very limited archery stock, with only crossbows in great numbers (KK1 )
-
Go Princess! I like the story very much, also the variation of fig pieces among your characters. I can see you don't have the king, but a nice improvisation! I can't wait till Chapter 2!
-
Yes, I'm also looking for that set, but my parents won't let my buying anything since my last order (Chess set and skelly battle pack), but maybe I could cheat a little by buying only the impulse sets in the stores (army building ON ).
-
Ok, but the only thing is I've never seen a waist quiver before . It doesn't mean it isn't a good idea... but I hope they'll keep using the old quivers as well.
-
I think the current bows are a bit... well, unrealistic when the fig isn't shooting. But tell me, how would a new quiver has to look if they WOULD change the mold?
-
Funny MOC, out of being realistic it's a great building! I like the figs you've made. Let me guess, you have the Tower Siege and the Dwarves mine, don't you?
-
Wow, that's realy amazing! I like the little goblins, the mountain and espescially the cool evergreens. You combined the old Legos and the new in an impressive way!
-
Great scene! I like the little details like the ground texture and the sadles next to it. But can someone tell me why a Vignette is actually called that way?
-
Well, why change the old quiver design? It worked out in the more classic sets, so why not here?
-
You know what? Lego Castle needs more sets for 2008!

SdPirate, i think you're talking about the Lego GIANT Chess set? Because the normal Chess set is not expensive at all. And I think that a Elf faction is very nice, but not a very big chance that it's realy going to be released... -
What faction from Castle do you represent?

I have to say that the troll wagons and other vehicles are a very nice job of TLC. I like the Tower the most. I think the Trolls/orcs would have been my favourites if there were no Dwarfs! -
I think it's a piece that you detache to the minifig the same way as a beard, plate armour, a pare of epaulets etc. I mean, the Dwarf beard is also a beard and pony tail in one...

I don't have any of those knights, my oldest knights are the fright knights from the Night Lord's Castle....

That's right! But for good MOCs, you need good pieces and figs, of course. I mean, before the Dwarves came out, i only could make one with a Dumbledore beard, and that isn't always very warrior-ish . It would definitely be great if we get some Elfs, I love LOTR! Out of the fact that Tolkien made the Dragons evil creatures...

Okay, you're right. I meant that the pieces aren't that good for other factions. But how are you using orc pieces in other factions? Well, except the helmets. (srry for Oftopic btw )
-
And if TLC would make a elf faction, then they would also be a great addition to those who are fond of the forestmen. I mean, the dwarves, orcs and skellies are cool, but some of theire pieces don't fit in other factions, like the beards, heads etc. The elves are much more human like, I reckon. Btw, I'm also new on the Forum. I like it very much here!

Revenge of the Forestmen (with dwarf assist)
Dwarvenlord replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Go dwarves! Nice battle scene. It combines the old lego and the new ones. I like the SNOT river! -
I've chosen the black one. Much more mysteriously then the others, since they all have such strong colours (except the grey one )

I definitely represent the Dwarves! Hard working guys who don't want do be disturbed by others, like those pesky orcs! (the orcs are also cool, but just to be the evil ones )
