Before Thalion can act, Watsap grabs him by the hand. His grip is quite strong. "That's enough of that. You were hired to solve the crimes and find the culprit, not point your fingers at m... us!" the kobold hisses. "Now do your job, dammit!" Amma leads the party to the butcher's door. "What things? Do you mean the burglaries? It's their own damn faults for not locking up their storages properly. I always use double latches. As for where I've been, I've been right here, tending my business. I have an appartment upstairs, so I don't have to leave anywhere. I do remember waking up to a noise some nights ago, and when I looked outside I saw a group of people gathered in the middle of the square. I couldn't see who they were, but they dispersed into different directions after a while. Hope that helps you fellows."- 327 replies

"Uh, I can't remember where exactly I was... Most likely at the barracks." "Well, I was at the barracks, and didn't see your cherry-munching face there until we were called to the captain's office for this ridiculous task." "Oh, I just LOVE to browse at Fabian's boutique, but it's not like I can afford anything in there with the waitress's salary I'm earning, you know."- 327 replies

"Hmm, we do, like, serve cherry pie as a desert at the restaurant, so there could've been something in the waste basket, sure." QM Note: What post are you referring to? All the posts I made are still visible. "This whole promotion thing happened, all of a sudden! I've only been in the watch for some months, I didn't expect it so soon. I wasn't prepared! And now you must think I committed these crimes?! This is just horrible!" "I've been a loyal member of the Watch for years, just so y'all know. Always doing the dirtiest work without any sort of recognition. Stuff like that gets to a kobold, ya know. But if you're asking whether I'm the burglar, then ya must be a little cuckoo in the head, dwarf."- 327 replies

I know I said there wouldn't be any rule adjustments for the rest of the year, but I began to feel bad about how complicated I made the Necromancer's Shield-skill, so I decided to give it a minor buff. The undead army will no longer disappear if the Necromancer is incapacitated by an effect, only if they are knocked out or the quest ends. Hopefully this will make the class a bit easier to handle. Also, the FAQ now has a clarification about how enemies with two conflicting types are handled in the case of "Raise Undead" and "Tame".

"Well, err... The thing is... I love cherries. I eat them like all the time." Watsap gasps audibly. "Et tu, 'dear' Warlock?!" The girl in the waitress uniform winks at Heckz. "Hiya, handsome! You mean, like, yesterday? I use this basket, like, every day to take out the carbage. But you should totally know that by now, since that creepy guy hangs out at the dustbins like all the time." The girl points at Watsap. The two lieutenants have already entered the Kingless Crown restaurant and cannot hear Thalion.- 327 replies

In front of her horseless wagon, Elphaba the Witch pases back and forth, throwing irritated glances at a certain crowd gathered in the middle of the square. "What's taking those people so long? I cannot leave until they find Beelzebub's bonnet, or there will be no end to the scratches. I should be on my way, but I guess I have to linger for a while more..." ~Elphaba's Magic Wagon will remain at the Marketplace until the conclusion of Quest#87!~

Bumble shrugs apologetically. "I'm zorry, buz I've handed zhem ouz generouzly afzer my career zook off in a rockez. I cannoz help you on zhaz." The sailor blushes. "Actually, I've been dating Mariel, a waitress in the Merry Mermaid, for some time now. I was supposed to meet her here before her shift, but something seems to be holding her. I hope the precious thing didn't oversleep... We were here yesterday as well, when that creepy lurker used that odd box to cause lightning bolts." "Meh, AIUPIIUP is obviously too advanced technology for this superstitious lot..." "My poor son Daffyd was no Wolfgang scoundrel! He was an honest and independent entrepreneur in burglary. He did meet up with that catty wench, Violina or something was her name, on occassions, but I advised him to stay far away from that girl! I suspect she was the one who put the thought of breaking into the Ziegfried Manor into his head. Such a shame..." "Sure you can, he lives above his bar and should be opening it for the day right about now. The Merry Mermaid is located a few blocks south from here, by the docks." "Mister?! I am a werehen, not a werecock! Bawk!!! The audacity of you werehumans sometimes get too much to bear! I cannot remember every werehuman I see, you all look the same to me. Take that, bawk!"" The turtle retreats to its shell as Thalion picks it up. It obviously does not understand common speech. Watsap throws his hands up all of a sudden. "Guys, focus! You already deduced that cherries were the common denominator in all of these cases! Now why aren't you trying to find someone affiliated to those?!" Warlock's eyes suddenly widen. "Oh... OH!!! But it cannot possibly be..." The detective goes silent, lost in his thoughts.- 327 replies

"That's what ya get for putting a kid to do a kobold's job..." "What are you insinuating, dear Watsap? I don't... Oh gods, look who are coming!!!" Sweat starts to literally pour down Warlock's face as two sets of boots clap on the cobblestones, approaching the crowd. The heroes turn to see two familiar officers of the Town Watch, and they do not look pleased. "Still working on the case, Detective Hoples? Has there been no progress whatsoever?" "I told you his promotion was a huge mistake, Serevan. What did you expect?" "But he was the brightest one of all the privates I've ever trained, Lilith! You listen to me, detective. Me and my colleague will now go get our daily dose of coffee and croissants from Yazmar's place. If you haven't solved the case by the time we come back out, you will be demoted back to shining Patricia's shoes." The two lieutenants flash a stern look at Warlock and the heroes and march into the Kingless Crown restaurant. "You heard the bosses, we're working on a tight schedule now. Wrap up any loose ends you like, but you need to come up with a prime suspect asap. Otherwise this'll be one mystery that was never solved." "Holy macaroni! You just HAVE to help me now! I cannot show my face in the barracks again if I fail this!!!" I never said three battles. In fact, if you had been extremely lucky going through the desert without igniting any battles, there would've been only one mandatory battle in the quest. But obviously you weren't that lucky. I suspect the quest will last until January at this rate...

Lifting the woman's hat, Heckz sees that she is just an ordinary human wearing a costume. "Lay your hands off me, you vandal! I'm only interested in carrots, and I am always in search for more shops that sell them. Sometimes I drop the ones I've bought, and I have to buy new ones. My hands are a bit shaky, you see..." "I'm just looking for more cookie-enthusiasts. I love it when people look at me with an insatiable hunger!" "Why yes, I come here every morning for a leisurely walk to buy more carrots. They are my breakfast, lunch and supper." "Bawk! Does this look like a costume to you, bawk? I am a chicken breeder, I sell the chickens I foster to Sir Loin's Butcher. It's easy for me since the chickens think of me as their mother, bawk. But sometimes the smarter ones escape." "Boo, Fabian is no fun! He doesn't want to eat me at all, even though there's rumors saying he's a real man-eater." "I offered my zhirzz zo Fabian a few dayz ago, buz he declined. I zlipped one among ze clozhez he zellz anyway, zehehe. He zoo zhall become a devozed fan of Bumble zhe Aerial Danzer!" "Seeds? Do ya mean the cherries? But that's actually a great question, now that I think about it..." "Hey, isn't that the turtle that disappeared from the Merry Mermaid a while ago?" "Oh yes, I visit that place all the time! How come I did not notice that? Hehe..." "I give zhem zo loadz of people all zhe zime! Do you want one? I can even auzograph iz for you."- 327 replies

Well, I didn't even know you were going to host your quest in the near future. It seems like an inopportune time, to me.

Thank you for the adventure Brickdoctor! It was great to finally participate in one of your quests! I realize it's a huge challenge to host a quest with as many options as yours do, but you somehow make it seem rather effortless on your part. I don't know how you do it! I have to admit that I was a bit lost at what we were supposed to do at times, due to the open-ended structure and the long span of time the quest lasted, but I hope that all in all I kept Ellaria consistently siding with the original citizens of R'kilf. I'm not sure if there were that many options on how things could have ended - the different factions were a bit too clearly jotted down as the "good guys" and the "bad guys", and the heroes chosen for the quest were a pretty lawful group (aside from a certain dwarven individual). In the grand scheme of things, the quest's task was less epic than usual, but I really didn't mind that we were helping out one village instead of trying to save the entire world. I have to applaud Chromeknight and Zepher for keeping the threads on their hands and steering the rest of us towards accomplishing our goal. One day I'd like to test out being a party leader myself, but this time I was happy to be a follower.
