  1. Aww, you're making me blush, Momma! I never knew you thought I was young and sweet and all - Mom? Hey, Mom? I was just trying to say - oh, you probably just can't hear me, you are a few yards away and all... If you're gonna suspect every lady who rubs up to Poppa then you're gonna be suspicious of every floozy in town... Why does she set you on edge, Momma? I don't like it when people just throw accusations into the air without givin' us a reason to catch them. I agree with you, Ma'am. It looks like the general consensus is that we're giving Sheridan (Scubacarrot) the benefit of the doubt for now, but we're keeping her at arm's reach (though she should be used to that by now).
  2. Well howdy, folks! Looks like we started off the day with a lot of excitement, isn't that right Daddy? Dad? Mom? I'm - I'm right over here... Ahem. Sheridan (Scubacarrot), what are you ramblin' on about? First things first, I wanna tell you a little story. One of my ancestors - her name was something like Etta or Ethel, I think - was a maid in a mystical castle. She had an accent that, well, sounded a lot like yours! That accent didn't work out so well for her, God rest her soul... The moral of the story is that valley girls and lynch mobs aren't a good combination. A good part of me believes that you're just trying to fool us by claiming so unexpectedly and that you're hoping we'll accept it just because of how brazen, absurd, and downright ballsy it is, like some kind of Trojan Horse. If that is your strategy, it seems to be working quite effectively! That said, right now I'm more inclined to think that a murderous Coyote wouldn't take that kind of risk or do anything quite so brash, especially on the first day. I figure that a Coyote would prefer to lay low.
  3. Well I'm happy as a clam to be here! The name's Abigail Nelson, though I'm sure you all know that. I'll see you folks around!
  4. 1) Mystery Castle, The Baritones, Witch Hunt, The Baritones 2, Galactic Paranoia, Mystical Castle, Police Infiltration, Eurobricks Mafia, The Pearl, Mafia Mafia 2) I'm very available (much more so than Mafia Mafia, haha) 3) I've actually played very little besides a vanilla townie, so I'd prefer to be something different. I enjoyed my turncoat role in the Baritones.
  5. Thanks for letting me in, Zepher! I had a crapton of fun, even if I was a bit quiet for most of the game. I have very little in the way of comments or criticisms, but I will echo the opinion that the game relied a bit too much on the pill cart and night actions by the end of the game. That said, the first four days were some of the most fun I've had in mafia!
  6. Thanks for letting me play, Zeph! I had a damn good time, though I'm sorry about being so inactive.
  7. Well darn! Just my luck! I'll take that Bobblyhead Pill.
  8. Vote: Snake Charmer (Darth Potato) And of course I'll take that Bobblyhead Pill. Oh, right. Hi guys. Stumpy in the house.
  9. Unvote: Snake Charmer (DarthPotato) Vote: The Usurper (TrumpetKing) I can't talk right now; I'm about to head to the doctor (no, not Piratedave). I'll be back tomorrow (in the real world).
  10. Frankly, you have had your head in the sand when it comes to me for a day and a half. It's like everything I say goes through one ear and out the other. I have responded to everything else several times before, but let me explain my logic one more time: you're right, the rule option is always detrimental to the town, even when used by a townie. The pill itself, however, is not detrimental to the person who takes it. Why the hell would a scum team let a townie take a pill which is essentially a free pass for the night and the day? It would be much more useful for them to subtly pass around the pill and then, if ever questioned about it, argue 1) that they chose the pill randomly and did not think that it would be the God Pill and 2) that since all of the rule options were detrimental to the town, they cannot be held accountable for the rule they chose. Don't you think that, I don't know, one of the scum PR's would want to get his or her hands on a pill which would protect them in the night AND in the day? Don't you think that a scumbag would be worried about the pill falling into the hands of a town block which could possibly figure out a way to use these rules to their advantage? If I were scum, all of these things would be running through my head and I would advise one of my teammates to quietly take the pill. To answer something that someone said a while back, no, I did not talk to anyone about my rule choice or tell anyone the identity of the God Pill. Why the hell would I? I had nobody I trusted, and nobody was contacting me. To confer with anyone about the rule choice would be to reveal to them that I had the God Pill, and I didn't want to risk giving the scum that information by contacting someone untrustworthy.
  11. The Pills 1) Hunter’s Pill Kadabra (Godfather), placebo 2) Light saber Pill KielDaMan (Role Cop), placebo 3) Infectious Pill Hinckley (Female Lover), upper? 4) Magical Pill mostlytechnic (Talking Animal), placebo? 5) Cursed Pill fhomess (Goon) 6) Pill of Valhalla Rufus (Cult Leader), placebo 7) Riot Pill Purpearljellyblob (PGO) 8) Mystery Pill Tammamono (Serious Roleplayer), God Pill 9) Mystical Pill WaterbrickDown (Witch), placebo 10) Bobblyhead Pill downer 11) Rum Esurient (NPC) 12) A Pearl Bob (BONAD), placebo 13) Deep Space Pill jamesn (First Day Lynch), placebo? 14) The Royalty Pill Piratedave84 (Doctor), placebo 15) Fairy Tale Pill DarthPotato (Snake Charmer), Lifesaver 16) Pill from the Dickhead Galaxy TrumpetKing (Usurper) So it looks like I'm taking the Bobblyhead Pill, which is a downer. I will say again, my thinking was that this rule didn't risk giving scum players an unfair advantage but still let the Town use its lynch. Don't take this to mean that I don't understand your argument against the rule, because I see your reasoning, but nevertheless that is what was going through my head when I got the pill result. The point of these rules, as you said, is that they are all bad for the town; it's a crapshoot. Maybe I made the worst possible choice in picking that rule, but I chose it with good intentions and luckily enough, it ended up working out for us. The God Pill makes you unkillable and unlynchable. Regardless of what rule you choose, it's a damn good pill to have regardless of whether or not you are Town or Scum. Someone is going to get the God Pill and choose a rule anyway. If I were scum, I would not have let a pill that would make me or one of my teammates both unlynchable and unkillable slip through my fingers.
  12. Dammit, this is my mistake again. I saw the NPC post that the Royalty Pill and the ZubZub Pill were placebos, and then I saw someone take the Royalty Pill, so I figured I would grab ZubZub. I belatedly realized that it wasn't on the list. Sorry, that was just plain stupid of me. I'm looking through the thread now trying to find an available placebo. If I were scum then of course I would advise my teammates to not jump on the Mystery Pill first thing. But I would've advised them to at least take it at some point. And nobody took the Mystery Pill yesterday, it was randomly assigned. Between the two people it could've been assigned to, Snake Charmer (DarthPotato) and the Cultist (Fred Daniel Yam), the Cultist was town. If I were scum, why would I let the God Pill be randomly assigned, especially when it could've ended up going to a Townie?
  13. Vote: Snake Charmer (DarthPotato) The two main reasons that people are using to accuse me of being scum are 1) my rule choice when I had the God Pill and 2) my negative reaction to the reveal-all plan. I have already explained my reasoning behind the two-lynch rule. As for my attitude towards the reveal-all plan, I was being cautious, trying to explore all possible risks to a major plan before it was put into action, and questioning information that came from a single source. I cannot see how any of those things are scum moves, though admittedly I did a shitty job communicating them. I also posted this in my defense earlier, but only the Serious Roleplayer (Tammo) seems to have noticed it: I'll take the ZubZub Pill, since apparently it is a placebo.
  14. I think you put far too much stock in counterclaims and spend far too much time saying "DUH" instead of trying to consider the risks of this plan. There are always inherent risks in claiming and counterclaiming. Remember that until now we have had nobody directly claim an action. Instead, they all come anonymously through outside sources. The PR has to think, "What if this is just a ruse to lure me out?" They have to consider the fact that counterclaiming will put them in the spotlight and bring them under suspicion. Very well; I missed your note on the JOAT, that is my mistake. I still don't see many reasons to trust the validity of these claims. Everything we know about them has come from you (with a note on the vig from the BONAD). If I have to vote for the reveal all plan to learn why I should trust these people, then I will stick to the vote I just placed. In terms of the vote being pointless, here is what I'm trying to say: after revealing the pills, the next issue becomes "Who will take the power pills?" At that point, we have to expose all of the PR's, otherwise we just sit around playing with our dicks and waiting for people to take those pills. The reveal all plan began with the revealing of the pills. If you have some iron-tight proof that will clear the vig and the JOAT and the Universal Backup from suspicion, then whoopee, I have no problems here. Go right ahead. But until then, I'm worried that one of these claims is not what it seems (this is already a possibility with the inventor). I'm worried that it'll be a scum who is taking that pill and not a Townie. You say "ALL DAY" as if the day DIDN'T start today (in the real world). This plan was suggested about five hours ago, and the pills were revealed within the next two hours. I arrived at the thread and learned about the plan about two and a half hours ago, and have been raising concerns since. At the end of the fucstumpking day, all I want is an actual reason to get behind these claimed power roles rather than just taking Hinckley's word for it. So stump it. Reveal everything. I'm going to stump my wife.
  15. Exactly. This is the first I'm hearing about the JOAT being known, there is conflict over the inventor, and the Role Cop and Blocker are UNKNOWN. Even if we accept the vig as the real deal, that leaves THREE ROLES THAT WE DO NOT KNOW FOR CERTAIN. Do you not see how having three unknowns can lead to multiple roleclaims? What if some of those roles are amongst the several dead townies? That leaves room for the scum to jump into the equation as impostors. Yesterday the Female Lover was all up on the BONAD's megablocks for jumping the gun and outing the Witch's pill. Now we just jump into this reveal all plan without any real discussion or examination of the risks involved. Look at it this way: say we accept that the vig and the JOAT are who they say they are (though I have heard nothing in-thread about the JOAT being known before today). They pop in and take some form of power pill, be it an upper or a lifesaver or the God pill. OK, that's fine. Then the Cult Leader and the other claimed inventor come into the thread, both asking for a pill. Who gets the pill? Next the Role Cop and the Blocker pop in and ask for pills. But a second Role Cop and a second Blocker arrive and also ask for pills. Then the Universal Backup comes along and says that nope, one of those roles is dead and that he or she has been offered the role. There are a ton of different ways this can and will play out. Female Lover, what proof do you have that the JOAT and the Universal Backup are who they say they are? How will we account for the other roles, like Role Cop and Blocker? This vote on the "reveal all plan" is useless right now. It's already been put into place. At this point all we can do is watch as people start to claim. So yes, I'll Vote: Yes for Reveal All Plan. If this vote had been proposed earlier, then I would be saying no.
  16. All of this is predicated upon the assumption that we either know where the Town power roles are assigned or that the real PR's will reveal themselves in the thread without contention. Already we have conflict over the identity of the Town inventor. What proof do we have to confirm these roles? What's to stop both scum and town from entering the thread and claiming a certain role? If that happens, how do we decide who gets what pill? From what I can tell, this is what we know about PR's (at least, what has been revealed in-thread): The Female Lover (Hinckley) and the BONAD (Bob) are in contact with someone who claims to be the vig and who claims to have targeted the Witch (Waterbrick) on the first night and nobody last night. The Female Lover claims to know the identity of the JOAT. The Female Lover and the Serious Roleplayer (Tamamono) are in contact with someone who claims to have received a gun from an inventor. How is any of this as iron-tight as it's being made out to be? Obviously I don't know all the crap that's going on behind the scenes, but from this information, how can we be confident in trusting these roleclaims and giving them power pills? I'm not sure this is foolproof at all. There's a chance that we will be making our Town PR's unkillable and more powerful. There's also a chance that scum will get both of those unkillable pills and that the real PR's will get lost in translation, adding more confusion and uncertainty into the mess.
  17. I did vote. Read the rest of my post. There is more to this than the rules we chose (or rather, what I chose, if what the Snake Charmer says about being randomly assigned his rule is true).
  18. I figured that the random rules were too risky in that they could potentially give the scum more power or nerf town power. The lynch is the town's best weapon, so I didn't want to destroy that with the 3/4 rule. I figured that if we pulled together on the two lynch rule, we had a better chance of getting a scum. It worked out, too: we used one lynch on someone who would get mod-killed and the other on a scum. Correction: the God pill made me unlynchable the day that I took it. So I couldn't be lynched or killed on night one, and the Snake Charmer (DarthPotato) couldn't be lynched or killed yesterday/last night. If we were both scum, then wouldn't I have told my scum group about how the Mystery Pill is the God pill? If you remember, there were two people that didn't pick pills yesterday and two pills that hadn't been chosen. One of those pills was the Mystery Pill, and the two people were the Snake Charmer and the Cultist. The Werewolf randomly assigned those two pills to the two remaining players. The scum would never have let the God pill be randomly given to a townie (the Cultist).
  19. This 3/4 rule sucks megablocks, but at least we nailed Loverboy (LegoDad). With our lynch nerfed, it looks like today will focus on us suggesting targets for the vig and any Townie with an invention, assuming that the gifted inventions could not be used last night. Female Lover (Hinckley), did the "vig" give you any reason why he or she didn't kill last night? I would've thought that a vig in contact with several other players would be more confident in a target.
  20. From what I can tell, this was the extent of your "points": So basically, arguing that I'm flying under the radar. That was the entirety of the argument set up by the Doctor (piratedave84) and the Male Lover (LegoDad) earlier in the day, and I already responded to that. In fact, a few other people posted some counterarguments as well, and I didn't want to repeat myself or anybody else. I'm sorry if you feel that my analysis is wanting. I will try to be foxier in the future. In the meantime, please understand that when I post I try to be as helpful and insightful as is possible for a stump. As for responding when I am "under fire", I would be an idiot not to address accusations leveled against me (unless those accusations noncommittally rehash a debunked argument). As for your comments on my comments on fake voting, it appears that you have misinterpreted me. What I was trying to say is that I absolutely appreciate the importance of voting; however, I also believe that votes shouldn't be placed lightly. It's as simple as that, and it's a view that I'm sure most of the players share. He will be mod-killed regardless of whether we lynch him or not. I'm satisfied with the Male Lover (LegoDad) as the second lynch candidate but I don't feel confident at all in lynching any of the other people that have been fake voted or voted for. I personally believe that forming a bandwagon against a third party is too risky at this point, so I think we should keep the Cultist and the Male Lover as our two lynches. So I shall Vote: The Cultist (Fred Daniel Yam).
  21. You have repeatedly told us to treat fake votes the same as real votes. My thinking when it comes to fake votes is, "Would I be confident in placing a real vote for this person? Would I be confident in lynching him or her?" That's why I poked Bob instead of fakevoting him. In hindsight this policy feels a tad Draconian, and I now realize that maybe adding pokes into the mix will generate needless confusion. Speaking of fake votes, I believe that the Godfather (Kadabra) placed one for me earlier, and it appears to be missing from your "here's where we stand" lists. This recalls the whole quality vs. quantity debate from earlier (though I will remind the Cultist (Fred Daniel Yam) that the rules require him to post in every day thread). I had wanted to hear (or, uh, read) what he has to say before passing judgement on him. Honestly, it'd take a damn good post from him to set my mind at ease, and I don't foresee that coming. I just kicked him a pigeon and hopefully that'll get his megablocks over here. However, the Female Lover (Hinckley) made a good point earlier: the Cultist logged on and chose not to address the accusations, which leads me to believe that he is trying to avoid the whole issue and is hoping that it will be forgotten or something. For that reason I'm going to fake vote: The Cultist (Fred Daniel Yam). Hang on a second. Are you saying that the presumed vig told you that he or she tried unsuccessfully to kill the Witch and that, completely separately, the Witch decided to reveal her pill to you? Or am I completely misreading this and did the Witch open up to you after you approached her with the vig's claim? Because if the former is true, then that level of coordination and coincidence is pretty damn suspicious.
  22. Walk up to the stump and this is what I see: Everybody stumps and they staring at me. It appears that the Doctor (Piratedave84) and the Loverboy (LegoDad) have raised concerns about my relative inactivity. It's true that I've been one of (if not the) least active player thus far, and for that I apologize. However, "policy-lynching" me (or any quiet player) is ridiculous, which several other people have since explained. In fact, in one humorously hypocritical post, the Doctor demonstrates this argument. Well, there you go. It's certainly true that a quiet player can impede the town through his or her silence and that the scum will generally try to fly under the radar, but ultimately the content of a person's posts matters more than quantity. You yourself just said this very same thing when confronted with your relatively small post count! You guys are definitely right in that I should be more active. However, there are plenty of people who have been legitimately flying under the radar, posting unhelpful comments and then retreating (I'll get back to this later in my post), and furthermore, there are people who have been growing more and more suspicious as a result of their actions, not their inaction (again, I'll touch on this shortly). I don't know, you seemed pretty eager to use me as the secondary lynch: As the First Day Lynch (jamesn) pointed out, I (along with several others) find the BONAD (Bob) suspicious. All I asked was that he respond to some of the allegations leveled at him, but when he did post, he said this: This is emblematic of my problem with the BONAD. He doesn't address concerns leveled against him, and when he does post, he says little of substance. This is his third post where he throws a blind accusation at someone and then fails to support it with actual evidence or reasoning (the first two being his vote for the Virgin (Clanure) and then his vote for the Serial Killer (walter kovacs)). The Female Lover is suggesting that we treat fake votes as real votes, and since there are one or two other players that have pinged for me, I will maintain a firm POKE POKE POKE POKE POKE. This touches on a prediction I have, that the scum will focus on using the secondary lynch to get rid of a townie. I would imagine that people would be less suspicious of the lynchers of the second person, especially since you theoretically won't need that many votes to confirm who the second lynch is (unless the votes are all tied up by the end of the day, which based on yesterday is a real possibility). Meanwhile, using inactivity as the basis for a vote gives the lyncher some plausible deniability ("hey, I didn't have strong feelings towards any candidate, so I thought it would be wise to just vote for the quietest person"). This issue with the Cultist deserves more attention than "woops, forgot to bold". I'll throw a POKE towards the Cultist because I would like to see him respond to the concerns that people have raised about him. BONAD (BOB): POKEPOKEPOKE It looks like I'm stuck with the Light Saber Pill.
  23. I'm a stump. I understood that: my point was to illustrate how misguided it was to lynch someone for "defending" (re: agreeing with/arguing devil's advocate) when in fact doing so is fairly common. That must have been lost in translation. Your first vote (albeit a fake one) was for the Virgin (Clanure) because "he's a bit odd and sticks out to me for some reason". Your second (and final) vote was for the Serial Killer (walter kovacs), it was the last vote of the day, it was the final nail in the SK's coffin, and you similarly supported it by saying that he rubbed you the wrong way. That stumps me the wrong way. I'm curious what seemingly put you off about both of the people you voted for, because the Usurper (TrumpetKing) has a point that bandwagoning and sealing the deal for a dead townie is a scumzo play. "He seems scummy" will only get someone so far when it comes to justifying a vote.
  24. Isn't it a tad ironic that you're putting up a "Day One defense" for the Cult Leader (Rufus), considering that the little bandwagon behind the Snake Charmer (Darth Potato) started because he supposedly put up a defense for the Serial Killer (walter kovacs)? Is this what you folks call a "ping"? I asked the Host, and he told me that the pills do not change, but the Cult Leader (Rufus) is right in that you cannot pick the same pill two days in a row. I was wondering if there wasn't some sort of twist to the game, because it's unusual for us to know everything about the game and its set-up from the get-go. Right now, as I'm starting to grow ever more suspicious of the Cult Leader (Rufus) and now the Talking Animal (mostlytechnic), I think that votes would be better placed elsewhere than the Werewolf (Zepher). In fact, where does it even say that the Host is a player? Counting the Host and the other players in Mafialand, there are 24 people here. ... And it very clearly says 23 players. So unless one of us secretly isn't playing, then the Werewolf technically isn't a player, even if voting for him isn't against the rules. Right now I'm leaning towards the Cult Leader (Rufus): it irks me that he was so quick to denounce the Snake Charmer while other "defenses", like those of the Talking Animal (mostlytechnic) and the Role Cop (KielDaMan), don't get the same backlash.
  25. I was trying to say that I didn't think they looked suspicious because they were making first day accusations (the Role Cop (KielDaMan) made this point much better than I did). Sorry, we stumps are stupid and have trouble getting across our ideas. By the way, good thought on the fake voting. People should also remember that the rules will apparently change from day to day. Based on the tone of all of his posts, I've gotten the impression that the Serial Killer (walter kovacs) was kidding around. That said, the Talking Animal (mostlytechnic) makes a stumping good point: It has been a while since the fake bandwagon started, and I'm really interested to see how he responds to it.
