Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Borex replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Kingo was certainly an amusing part of the movie. I just saw the movie as well earlier this day. Not a very good movie, but probably necessary for a bigger story arc. -
He first started in the original Mario Bros says the interwebs. Btw is this the first snowy world white platform, together with the one with the penguin

Chinese New Year Sets - Rumors and Discussion
Borex replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Does someone from Hogwarts have a penguin as patronus? I like the ice skating set. A little too cramped with all that is going on, but for playing it is perfect. I also love the sticker with the blocky foot with ice skate. the vignettes are too similar for my taste. But i can understand that for the Chinese it will be much cooler as they recognize all situations. I only think Golden Hotdogs and Tiger tile -
Do you what game the ice shard is from? I can’t really remember. edit: never mind, i think it’s supposed to be Freezie

Pictures are out! series 4 has some nice additions. The wallet?frog?, mecha-koopa, purple antguy, the black ball with the bull horns that keeps bumping into you, a goombrat, a ladybug and a bee, a penguin, a scaredy rat and a piece/shard of ice. two sets are heavily based on water/beach scenes with Dorrie in one, and a big Urchin in the other (and one of the fly-fish you can stand on and a yellow Yoshi) last set is that flying thing for baby bowser, that can used for mario (or luigi) to stomp enemies, so a different kind of new suit

Chinese New Year Sets - Rumors and Discussion

It’s orange and has stripes. Must be a tiger! But i agree, it’s modded into a very childfriendly tiger. Is it the same orange as that tiger kid? So i can exchange his torso for a striped one? -

What's the average age people grow out of LEGO?
Borex replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It depends on how you love toys i guess. Kids are just like human beings, all different. Their way of playing can vary a lot. Some just build, some really play with it, some collect, some are allowed just to play with it if doesn’t make a mess in the house. There are so much reasons that anyone stops being interested in lego. I just think that lego did smart by producing licensed sets (star wars, batman) to reel in grown folks that stay attracted to the old toys and pop culture. once grown-ups cross that bridge we get hooked again :-) -
Yeah, and they already started making them in the 70’s i wonder if there were other countries with these lego newspapers as well

I think we always had good and a lot of toyshops in the Netherlands too. When i was a kid it was 100% you would get a lego set on your birthday. It was the perfect present to give, because it was affordable, you could play with it, it was quality and it had bricks. I even used lego to build spaceships for my kenner sw figs. You could mix lego with every toy that you had. That whole generation has grew up with lego and they are now still passing it on to their kids. We even had a seasonal newspaper about lego in the 80’s So, probably why there so many BL sellers from the Netherlands could be that we just have so much bricks lying around overhere. The younger generations aren’t in those classic sets that much, so the old bricks are being sold off maybe? I like snooping around in thrift stores, but you seldom see lego there. Sometimes i think that those thrift shop owners use those stores to get cool stuff for free to resell online (and not only lego) Fun thing is that we were pretty late with getting an official Lego Store. link to those newspapers: [link]http://www.miniland.nl/legokrant/legokrant lezen.htm[/link]

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 22. Rumors and discussion
Borex replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It’s weird. They look so similar, but indeed something is off with the ears, but also the cut-out for the face seems a different shape. It would be nonsense to make a mould that would be almost identical to the fox, instead of using the fox one. Also, there is no telling if we’ll get a new tail piece from this angle. I do hope so. -
In love ! never expected to get luigi’s mansion sets! Best news today!

You’re right! Janice plays the guitar and Zoot had the saxophone. Because of Zoot i wanted to play the sax as a kid x-D and because all 80’s songs had a saxophone in it. Anyway, if there ever is going to be a second wave i hope for the rest of Electric Mayhem and Dr. Teeth, Sweetums , Sam the Eagle, the newsman, beauregard, the pigs in space crew and the Mahna mahna guy

Thanks. Weird choice of colour for that hook in a set like that by the way. Let’s grab the lion cub with a nice blue pastel hook -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Borex replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I am curious how they are going to pull this one off. Not interested as of yet, but if they are going to make Dutch soccer women, then i’ll be interested. Especially if they will give us Shanice van de Sanden with the leopard hair. -

It does look good. And yes, she’ll need medium legs indeed. -
(good choice)

So what could they have as accessories? kermit - the lute from the next regular cmf wave? Robin as a Throg-fig? Miss Piggy - lip-stick? A comb? Statler and Waldorf - witty remarks printed as a sign to hold up? Rawlf - the music of ‘Together again’ on a tile? Fozzie - hopefully a rubber-chicken mould Bunsen and Beaker - just some bunsens and beakers? Gonzo - a trumpet with a flag in it? Camilla the chicken? Swedish Chef - printed carrots? Printed pumpkin? Janice - just a saxophone Animal - some drumsticks (magic wands) and maybe a chain?
-
Very good list. I get it why they chose Janice, but personally i rather saw Scooter in her place. Not because i don’t want Janice, but i think that the rest of the band won’t be made (hopefully i’m wrong though) and that’ll keep itching. Everybody will need a new mould for their heads, so i think there won’t be too much extra moulds.

A capybara printed on the friends hamster? No, i don’t see it just like that chima beaver printed on the bigfootmould.

Santa as a warrior isn’t a good idea for a kidfriendly toyfacturer i think. Maybe it’ll be a fantasy take on a Gengis Khan type/hobbit’s lake-town of warrior?
