Funny how the brunette switch improves it for me... God Bless, Nathan

It's fairly inevitable that I would vote timeless ; ) However while the theme never gets old the set selection certainly does. I think many of your perceived complaints could be alleviated by just widening the set bracket away from the stereo-typical 5-9 sets each range comprises. I personally am not that excited about 'Kingdoms', the figs/accessories look nice, but I still hate bley ; ) God Bless, Nathan

I enjoyed this set but still have to look away from the one detail which ruined it... If the fin is vertical the horizontal ribbing lines don't align along the blimp. It couldn't have been that hard to align when the screw thread was cut. This short coming always really annoyed me. (Maybe I'm too much of a perfectionist...) God Bless, Nathan

[UK] More free Lego from Mirror Newspaper (Racers theme)
Norro replied to Big Pete's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Agreed. By the time I buy a terrible paper, and pay postage (I don't have time/money for going to smyth's each day) these work out at just even with or worse than polybags. Not that I'm complaining it's great to be able to grab some of the unusual ones... God Bless, Nathan -
If only there were some shields... their absence is a perpetual spoiler of small set multiples. God Bless, Nathan

Interesting and pleasant, a lovely little castle! Keep up the good work! God Bless, Nathan

Why stop playing? When I was young you probably would not have described me as much of a 'play'er. I didn't mash two figs together in mortal combat, or crash cars into walls. I did, however, name every fig in my collection, compile extensive story lines (in which they all featured) and painstakingly build the key scenes from each. I can remember extended family and friends commenting that my room was like a stop motion theater, each time they came back the scene had changed, but the characters and story were still smoothly progressing. Final battles were sprawled all over my floor and gradually updated (sometimes sword stroke by sword stroke) over the course of days, but the real adventure was always in my mind. It still is. I still do much the same thing, unfortunately I have less time (and more interests) but the Tales section of my website represents exactly what the young me would have expected an older, more capable, version of myself to produce... Even when my friends came to 'play' lego with me, it was always for the story, they always wanted to be 'caught up' on the bits they had missed and would bring their guest characters to the world. Maybe I've always been more of a story teller, but for me physical 'play' was always just a sub standard illustration of what was happening in my mind... it still is On a separate note: Not everyone's models who appear this way, actually are... I've been accused of this in the past, but I actually stood on the Entrance to the Caves, Cliffton Castle, and Forgotten Beacon to stress test them. And the vast majority of my models feature homage style functionality, just of a greater complexity. Interestingly, this summer I built my first ever 'blow over' models, and while I have to admit they are some of the most gorgeous scenes I've ever produced, I'm not sure if it is an experiment I will continue with. I'm fairly sure that is a large chest (of Belville origin). But Mr Phes, there is a new style skeleton in the new pirate line... you haven't hunted him down yet? God Bless, Nathan

I still use Lugnet and peeron. It's all about the parts... God Bless, Nathan

Tall and imposing, "does exactly what it says on the tin" I would like to see this in some more context, I think it would really set it off well. Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan

Some nice work there. A brilliant debut. And don't let the 'man' convince you that all the concepts are taken, there are a lot of original ideas still floating out there. I liked your ship, and the tower, while familiar, is well set in its surroundings. I look forward to seeing more of your works... God Bless, Nathan

Interesting, I missed the original (so no prejudice there...) but I still can't help feeling that this MOC is missing something. And probably something easily added since the current elements are all quite well done. Cheers for posting! God Bless, Nathan

This is really looking nice, I particularly like the raised landscaping in the corner. Thanks so much for sharing! God Bless, Nathan

My Newton is good enough for me... it can fax BL orders to select stores God Bless, Nathan

Thanks for showing us! Some nice models there, the dwarve scenes are particularly appealing... God Bless, Nathan

Searching for RARE lego sword....(what set it came in)
Norro replied to Dan the Brickman's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
While it is hard to guess at Lego's production runs, peeron is great for set appearances: Yellow, 12 in 10 sets... Blue, 15 in 11 sets... not counting the bley ones in HP... God Bless, Nathan -
LUGBULK - New concept for the AFOL community
Norro replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This is what I resent... When the blend between hobby and business creates something worse than either could in their own right. One question: is this program going to be profitable? If so, a business would provide it to everyone. Or is this a hobby service, in which case do we really need millions of rules? Best intent would, presumably, be fine. I don't mind that a business would ignore the two years of labour it took me to start a LUG. I don't mind that it wouldn't notice the thousands of people I have personally reintroduced to its products. I wouldn't expect it to... But I do mind when an organization posing as a hobby lobby starts instituting elitism... Obviously I'm not worth the investment. Technicalities always indicate the true value of an individual . Taking a real life LUG in a country which previously hadn't had one from a membership of 0 to 13 is not as important as a checklist when it comes to dedication. Hopefully, my MOCs will soon be ranked (sarcasm). Obviously I don't influence or inspire building as much as some (those in pick a brick echelon 1 presumably) but what about others... Just to defend myself, I am the guy who rejoices when I see pick a bricks opening in other countries because I figure it will drive down the BL price of items. I love Lego, I love the exclusives, I jocularly complain about limited/regional availability but end up coping, what I dislike is the recent tendency of Lego to 'explain' why I don't need/am wrong/don't have TLC's best interest at heart... I don't, I'm a fan of the brick- not irrevocably married to the company. Which brings us back to asking is this a fan movement (by the way- "most of you aren't fans") or a company (which would treat us all equally- looking after their own interest first: so that we don't have to...)? Cheers again Lego, I have some plans which could use some bulk bricks- but I guess I'll end up at Bricklink, oh wait that isn't what you wanted Nathan -

I think I have far more of the shinier version as well, though I don't actively discriminate... God Bless, Nathan -
Arkham is surprising when you consider all the unwanted copies on sale a few years ago. I used to wade through them at TRUS and even at 30% off couldn't justify the bley... God Bless, Nathan

Pirate Island with harbor mountain beach and many more
Norro replied to maydayartist's topic in Pirate MOCs
Very impressive! I love the scale in combination with the display quality of the whole island. So many great touches, and of course the essential blend of natural and artificial terrain are excellent. Very inspiring! Thank you so much for sharing! God Bless, Nathan -
Scale credit! Looks like a massive project, and a grim one for any pirates out there... God Bless and looking forward to more, Nathan

No, I couldn't afford it then, I bought mine on ebay, but I splurged on sets that came with the box (I don't generally collect the boxes, so that is a real mark of respect...) Chalk up another one God Bless, Nathan
