  1. I'll go old. The sets were more conducive to rebuilding (in my opinion), aquazone, western, and consistant showings by the big four themes is the other big decider. Though I think this will really spin on whether you're a starwars fan or an all round lego lad. Starwars (I don't own any) does seem to have improved dramatically, while a lot of other themes were allowed to crumble... I also think recent lego releases have become too reliant on a special fig or piece to overcome other conceptual difficulties. That said there have been some great exceptions lately God Bless, Nathan
  2. The only large sets I've built were the Cafe Corner series. I build each in a few hours, no special thoughts. I do plan large builds when it will be my own work though... relative elevations, piece concentrations, etc all have to be prepared. God Bless, Nathan
  3. Hey and welcome! God Bless, Nathan
  4. This is a nice piece of work. I love the wall railings, fig choices, and all round concentration of compressed detail. Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  5. Invincible hockey helmet: God Bless, Nathan
  6. Keep us posted. If this actually sells I'm sure many people here would be wondering why they didn't do likewise... God Bless, Nathan
  7. That is just such a great image! I know the feeling. In 2002 I had only ever received one set with a missing part. Since then... God Bless, Nathan
  8. True... it was only the sets that let Mars Mission down although the one pictured was a highlight. God Bless, Nathan
  9. I gotta admit I really like this! It just has that extra special MOC feel. Great work and God Bless, Nathan

Thanks for the review! I agree entirely about the clarity, I got carried away with the style. Rest assured that future posts will be easier to read God Bless, Nathan
  11. I think it is due to those most concerned all ready buying less new lego. Personally red, white, and yellow. Are probably the three lego colours I use least of all the main contenders. So I wasn't too concerned until I started a recent MOC which involved a lot of white bricks... On a related note I think the shift is also down to the temperature these bricks are being cast at. The new factories aren't emulating the danish conditions. God Bless, Nathan
  12. So many people noticed (amongst AFOLs) that Lego felt they had to explain. The more modern colour shifts were not as heavily criticized because of the colours involved. The greys are a staple base for castle, space, and town. A lot of people noticed, a lot cared. I still ignore bley in piece counts when deciding if a new set is value for money... God Bless, Nathan
  13. I'm not familiar with the source, but this is a brilliant MOC in its own right. The detailing is superb and the overall balance of the weighting (in visual terms) of the various elements is very well done! Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  14. The background in this photo is well done. Thanks for sharing! God Bless, Nathan
  15. A little sick, but so well executed! God Bless, Nathan
  16. I would like this one, but it still seems a little over-priced to me... Thanks for the review! God Bless, Nathan
  17. The classic yellow is hard to beat... Then, of course, there is the reissued Guarded Inn (what were they thinking?) Of the relatively modern themes the orient expedition sets spring to mind... God Bless, Nathan

Thanks all!! I started the section with techniques I am claiming as my own, so they aren't seen quite as often I'll broaden out as I update... God Bless, Nathan
  19. Happy Bday! God Bless, Nathan
  20. I received an extra agents gun (loose in the box) once, but beyond that I've never received more than the standard intentional extras. God Bless, Nathan
  21. Actually I remember the famous "is this a lemon?" thread starting long before TLC worked up the nerve to "announce" the change on Lugnet. They actually made a similar point to yours in their announcement "assuming... that the change would go fairly unnoticed"... Yes I'm still annoyed. And in my opinion the prices on BL represent more than just diminishing supply, they represent preference... God Bless, Nathan
  22. I really like this MOC. Very striking! Brilliant simplicity and purity of concept. Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  23. If I was robbing you, odds are the Lego is what I came for... any cash found during the sorting process is just a bonus God Bless, Nathan

    Finally

Hey all, I've finally built a permanent home for my MOCs online: www.NTbricks.com The site itself will hopefully improve over time, but the links will now be safe. Please let me know what you think! God Bless, Nathan
  25. I had this problem with the last version of Safari, but only about one in a hundred times I was here. That's probably no technical help at all God Bless, Nathan
