  1. Much as I hate bulk quoting, blueandwhite managed to say everything I was thinking (on the subject) in one tidy little paragraph. Thanks! God Bless, Nathan
  2. Can I enquire as too your motives? God Bless, Nathan
  3. Brilliant, and an added bonus that the new piece features plume connectivity! So unexpectedly great I won't comment on the bley... an honest mistake... God Bless, Nathan
  4. Gory but nice. Any reason why the pole is blue? God Bless, Nathan
  5. And we... are... happy for... no I'm not going to finish that you lucky... God Bless, Nathan
  6. Not bad at all... in fact a very appealing design. Great work! Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  7. One of the best Castle sets in ages! Especially with the correct assortment of figures ; ) God Bless and thanks for the review! Nathan
  8. Has anyone got a link to Didier's unofficial brick technique manual. I have one downloaded but can't remember when/where I got it. Though I'm sure it would be a lot of help in this case... God Bless, Nathan
  9. That stuck out for me amongst the list of alternatives... Great answer! God Bless, Nathan (Yes I was too good for a dark age... that or my complete disconnect with popular culture kicked in yet again...
  10. Ideologically I'm for unsorted (traditional, not dumbed down, I am generally trying to get a feel for the pieces included rather than the set itself) though I'm willing to admit when I'm breaking down sets for parts it is a big time saver. As to cost. I am more limited in funds for lego than time at the moment (especially since I often build a set to relax) so I would definitely not pay for sorting... Superior quality again on the other hand God Bless, Nathan
  11. Thanks for posting these lads. Very neat to see! God Bless, Nathan
  12. At this rate of development she'll probably never read comics... Great shot btw. God Bless, Nathan
  13. There is a simple answer... The bulk of them are located in Whitefang's closet... God Bless, Nathan
  14. Nice waterfall! I've being meaning to try the flags for ages... so great to see someone show how it's done! Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  15. While it was one of the weaker members of a great value pack, this was still a nice set. And as Phes noted the generosity in including two animals (which were special back in those days) as well as gold pieces, was very nice. I always personally liked the multipurpose pot, is he digging with it? Drinking from it? Carrying gold in it? God Bless, Nathan
  16. Since I didn't particularly care for the bulls, for me this was about as close to a one piece set as Lego got.... And yes I still bought a few on sale God Bless, Nathan
  17. I intended to use a standard one, but after seeing the number of pages and how easily the book bends I am considering using a premium edition, just to ensure any time I spent doing this wold not be waisted! God Bless, Nathan btw cheers for pointing out the premium edition on S@H Ire brickzone!

    Irish Lego Group

Hey all, I'm pleased to announce that the first meeting of Irish AFOLs was a complete success. We've decided on finalists for a name, begun work on a permanent web home and were even able to watch Liverpool topple United (for better or worse ; ). For most of us it was the first time meeting other AFOLs, and along with some general relief we were able to show off some planned and finished models, as well as discuss bargain hunting and our faviourite lego based haunts. We look forward to more to come! If you're Irish, or on the Island, please drop by and see if you can be part of our next get together... Notice Board God Bless, Nathan
  19. So I've finally got round to posting my views on the new Collector's guide... Apart from the title being the wrong way round on the spine (continent?), it was brilliant! A great, and fairly detailed, resource. So far I've only found one set I have that is not listed. I really look forward to compiling one edition with all the sets I own, marked. It is wonderful(?) to flip through and see the ones that got away, along with sets I missed through ignorance. It is also great for meeting and comparing memories when internet access is not readily available... It is like someone took the Lugnet set guide offline. The only minor issues I have are that the initial asking price would have been nice for each set, but probably that's impractical. Also the rareness icons could use some work. The gold C3PO is 'common'... God Bless, Nathan
  20. Sorry to raise an old thread... but I just noticed this in Sinner's sig (it was posted while I was away...) and had to reply. A great build, I love the degree to which the model compliments the story. So many dovetailing elements always mark out my faviourite MOCs. The overall scale, and relative height of the mobile still is also brilliant. Great work and thanks for sharing! God Bless, Nathan
  21. Hmm... Castle! Pirates, aquazone, and western round out the mix... God Bless, Nathan
  22. Sorry to be off topic, but that is a nice little memorabilia collection! Great work and God Bless, Nathan
  23. This really catches the eye in a great way. Small ships are so hard to make work. But this is excellent, the playful spirit and construction really compliments the ship's displacement... God Bless, Nathan
  24. Cheers for posting this. Some great pics! God Bless, Nathan
  25. A nice scene most remarkable for its naturalness. Some good work and nice building there! God Bless, Nathan
