I typically only build large scale vehicles in the Model Team and Creator type themes, but recently have been trying more natural designs. Here are a group of bonsai trees. Multiple people asked me to submit it to Ideas, so I did: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/133892

Here's another hot rod. This time I went for a more custom, radical "rat rod" design. It's 100% original, unmodified Lego, including the spark plug wires, pulley belt, and chrome pieces. The V8 engine is modular, so it can easily be swapped out for another. The seat includes 19 different colors, which I thought was fun, too. It's on Ideas, if you're interested: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/133897 ...and a couple more, one of the interior: ...and one of the seat:

Yeah, I know that title is used for another, official Lego set. But it seemed most appropriate and I couldn't think of anything else. Anyway, I built a forest scene using Smuggler's Hayride from set number 1974. It's a little different from the vehicles I normally build.

The majority of it is washed and sorted, fortunately. The bins in the garage and storage unit are sorted by type and labeled, as well as some of the Lego room contents (the built-in drawers). I've taken a good look at everything and the sets I have listed are worth saving, in my opinion. There are probably another ten or so smaller sets that might be worth the effort, but I'm considering everything everything except my list above to be bulk. I'm primarily helping however I can to sell the sets. That may or may not mean I'll end up with a portion, or even all of it, myself.

Literally, a half ton. I found a massive collection for sale. I would greatly appreciate your opinion on what it is worth. I have uploaded all of the pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/XYcOe To summarize what's here, The garage in the first few pictures has several large bins of loose Lego. I've weighed all of them and came up with a total of 350 pounds, which is roughly the weight of the Lego itself without the bins, bags, and boxes. Not included in this total is a box with a partially assembled Star Wars Death Star model. Unfortunately, this is incomplete and dusty. The minifigures I noticed weren't all from that set and they're not all there either. I notice there's no picture of it, although I remember taking one. Let's say it's 75% complete. The dining room in the following pictures has the best stuff. There were a handful of polybags, including a couple Clone Troopers. Easily the most valuable items are the modular buildings: 10182 Cafe Corner 10197 Fire Brigade 10211 Grand Emporium 10218 Pet Shop 10224 Town Hall 10232 Palace Cinema Obviously, Cafe Corner is the big one. Additionally, there are two large ships, 4184 The Black Pearl and 79008 Pirate Ship Ambush. I couldn't tell for sure that they were both complete. The storage unit, the individual picture after that, is entirely bulk Lego in plastic storage bins. They're almost all the same size, which I've weighed eight of at forty pounds. At an average of five each, there are 94 bins, two of which I've doubled due to being about twice the size, I've estimated this total weight to be about 480 pounds. Also, to clarify, this lot isn't entirely unsorted. These bins appear to be completely sorted, as different types of parts are grouped into Ziplock bags. Some bags are labeled, some bins are also labeled. The pictures after the storage unit is the remainder of the collection. For the most part it's all bulk Lego. Without removing all of the contents of the drawers, and weighing everything from there or elsewhere, based on previous measurements I think there is roughly close to a couple hundred pounds, which puts the grand total of all bulk Lego from each location to be very close to 1,000 pounds, if not a little more. This figure does not include the complete, to mostly complete, sets in the listed above or below. A few of the notable sets I found: 7662 Trade Federation MTT 75020 Jabba's Sail Barge 10236 Ewok Village 10222 Winter Village Post Office 10229 Winter Village Cottage 79111 Constitution Train Chase 7676 Republic Attack Gunship 70814 Emmet's Construct-o-Mech 75025 Jedi Defender-class Cruiser 10193 Medieval Market Village 10217 Diagon Alley 8098 Clone Turbo Tank 10937 Arkham Asylum Breakout 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer 8039 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser 21108 Ghostbusters Ecto-1 I would consider everything else in that room to be bulk Lego. One big concern I have with it all is the smell. I'm not sure if this is an issue for sure. But it should be considered. There used to be nine cats living in that house. I've come up with a few numbers. I've considered a value for all bulk Lego together, as if it would be sold as is in one shot, as well as broken up into smaller increments. Ideally, it would be worth a ridiculous amount. But consider that these pieces aren't being sold individually via Bricklink. And I've considered a value of all the sets listed here, assuming they are complete, or can be completed.

They don't really announce it, but the awards are placed by the creations and they're listed on the website. The public favorite was The Vatican: St. Peter's Basilica and Bernini's Colonnade.

Putting the Pieces Together: A Classic Lego Collection
drdesignz replied to drdesignz's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Just added to the album, here are the minifigures found in the bag: http://imgur.com/aIF1X8N,Hq7TVqF#1 Three dozen Classic Space and nearly all are mint. There isn't a single broken helmet and all graphics are crisp and clear. There are 29 Classic Town, five Futuron, five Castle, one Blacktron I, one Blacktron II, two Pirates, and an Ice Planet 2002 (some are just out of view in their vehicles). -
Putting the Pieces Together: A Classic Lego Collection

Glad you guys enjoyed it. Almost all of these will be built at some point. A select few that I'm not interested in, a couple duplicates and sets I already owned, will be sold. It will be a while before I can build and display all of these. I honestly don't have the space for them now. But it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. -
An amazing classic Lego collection from 1979 to the early 90's, complete sets in their original boxes with instructions. Album with descriptions here: http://imgur.com/a/zO6qm Purchased all at once (by me) from a single collector, this is by far the best example of classic Lego history I've ever seen in one place. I've photographed and researched the entire collection. If you notice any errors or know of additional information, I'd appreciate you telling me and will update the album accordingly. Enjoy!

Cadmium - Bouncing Lowrider
drdesignz replied to mahjqa's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think it could be a first. I haven't looked in a while now, but I've never seen it done before. It's a clever mechanism. I couldn't think of a way to do it when I built mine. -

Very cool. I myself a long time time ago, but never finished. -
I'm not sure... I just removed the wheel and reversed it. The tire is now closer to the support arm, just barely touching with some play in the hub. I thought maybe the offset of the wheel was different, but it looks like it is the same and it's the tire itself that's not perfectly symmetrical. I took pictures. This image shows the wheel installed per the instructions. This one is reversed. You can see a slight difference in the gap.
-
I just finished building this last night and the tires do not touch to support arm. The gap is about an 1/8" of an inch or so (4mm, I think). Maybe you installed the wheels backwards?

Anybody here attending Brickfair?
drdesignz replied to drdesignz's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
That's unfortunate to hear, Paul. Wish it wasn't like that. I was thinking of updating my website for the event, too. It's not a store either, but it sounds like I'm not going to be able to "advertise" it. Same thing for Cuusoo/Lego Ideas. I'm actually bringing three of those. I remember seeing Cuusoo links a couple years ago. It seems crazy they won't even allow that anymore. Oh well. I'm paid for and going for sure. I will be bringing all of the models I currently have together, and hope to have time to build another before the event. Here's what I'll have with me for sure. If you guys see these there, say hi. -

That's unfortunate. I'm sorry to hear that. Would you mind explaining a little further? The website seems pretty clear that this is run by AFOLs for AFOLs, like we dictate how things are run. Is this not entirely true? I'd love to know more, before I fork out ~$800 on hotel accommodations, registration, transportation, and food. -
I went a couple years ago and thought it was neat. I got a couple hundred pictures online here: http://imgur.com/a/SkTrH http://imgur.com/a/985f6 There were a few Crowkillers' cars, which was pretty cool. I also saw the concept model for the Mars Rover set that came out this year. You'll probably recognize some of the MOCs if you look through all the pictures. I think I'm going to attend and actually display some of my own models this year. I have to check with my work schedule to be sure, but it's looking likely I can make it. If so, I'll register and book a hotel. I was just curious if anybody else here is going for sure. Also, if you've been in the past, what's it like for five days? I see it's only open to the public for display for two days. What do you all do the rest of the time? The schedule hasn't been published yet, so I'm just wondering. Anything going on at Holiday Inn? Is there a limit to how many models I can bring? I can bring at least four. Will there be a power outlet available I'm able to use with my display? I was thinking of bringing a LCD display to show pictures of my models.
