Sarge smirked and winked at Boomingham, then nodded knowingly and patted his bulging gold purse. "I'll keep it safe for you here, don't worry." feeling a bit more comfortable now that the lions had left, he rested the demonic greatsword on his shoulder, and almost thought he heard it hiss. He pointed back to the palace district, looked around at his party then sighed happily. "We'll 'ead back to the aunties, see what we can do right lads."- 1,180 replies

200 gold - Sarge 224 gold - Eric 224 gold - Heckz Rakshasa Blade - Eric Rakshasa Flail - Eric Rakshasa Scimitar - Eric Rakshasa Waveblades - Eric Sarge watched as the lions staggered away, feeling pitiful and a tad disturbed. He had made the first move, he had first attacked those children. He regretted it, but no point dwelling on the past, he'd found his daughter, been cured, found a purpose, he'd damn well buck up. He exhaled heavily and looked up at Eric, then at Boomingham. "What now?" he half muttered at his party.- 1,180 replies

Ooc: Damn me, I missed Sandy's post, sorry guys Sarge lowered his sword and approached the lioness. He proffered his hand to pull her up, and spoke softly. "You're spared. Use this gift of life to teach others mercy in Orthaniel's name." He hesitated and shook his head, and the kind face was replaced by the usual sly grin and he continued. "Course. Despite bein pious meself, nothin to stop Eric here choppin yer 'ead off, so some, remuneration'd be wise lass."- 1,180 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest#130: Sisters in Salmanda

The red mist faded and the old man stood over the corpses of two dead were-lions. Taught them right for knocking his daughter down. Revenge, alas, had not made him feel any better, any less helpless to protect her. The angel would protect her, it would protect him, cleanse him. He looked down upon the weeping lioness, and for the first time in his life felt pity. He pondered for a moment why the angel had let him, as amoral as they go, live. He hesitated as he realized, this was not a kill or be killed scenario, this was why he was spared. Did he not owe the divine being a life saved in return for his redemption. Some intellectual bullcrap like that anyway. He vaguely noticed Boomingham seeming to plea at the group, and Heckz shouting back, so he shook his head to reorientate himself. He calmly raised his sword, at arm's length to Heckz's neck, and gave Eric a stern nod to cease. He murmured something in a level voice, an cocked his head. "Aint no glory in killing like this. Calm down you excitable brat, before I calm you down forever."- 1,180 replies

Sarge staggered back to avoid Nalah's fury, and looked upon in pure horror as it hit Periwinkle. He rushed to grab her as she fell to the ground, and cradled her in his arms. He found himself sobbing and wiped his face hastily with his shirt sleeve. He fumbled for a pheonix essence and slowly poured it into Periwinkle's mouth. The old man embraced his daughter and whispered in a soft but rasping voice "Revive the sorcerer, and keep your head down." He nodded at her. He stumbled away from his daughter and composed himself momentarily, before utterly losing his shit in rage. He charged the two young lions, swinging wildly and mercilessly with the speed of a spoken word, screaming unintelligible obscenities at the top of his lungs (Rugs were mentioned) His eyes red with tears past and full of the anger of a volcano. Battle order: Sarge revives Peri Sarge uses the health core in his sword on himself Peri revives Heckz Sarge attacks Tarzean (And Sumba) from the front row. Sarge grinned, and though his face was concelaed by his helmet, the smirk shined through. "This isn't about honour, this is about survival, being the ones left standing. Which is more than what will be said about you lot in a minute." Battle order: Sarge attacks Nalah from the front row (double) Sarge attacks Tontor from the front row (double) but from the back if he rolls a damage/special damage on Nalah. Ooc: Idiot me, I had a post written up but hadn't pressed post yet, you're right though, I wasn't really making a proper action. Sarge hung back, leaning on the doorframe, and listened to the dialogue whilst smoking a cigar, head hung back. Upon the mention of the tyrant statue he sneakily slipped outof the building, and waited for the werelions to exit. He drew the demonic greatsword and leant on it, the red steel glinted in the sunlight. The old man gave one final huff of his cigar before stamping it into the ground. He waited patiently for both his friends and his enemies.- 1,180 replies

Sarge raised his eyebrows as he realised that nobody had mentioned the dead sister. "Shit. Well, two nights ago me n Eric went to the Sister's fountain in the swamps. The sister there had her throat slit" He drew his finger across his neck and nodded "And the water was poisoned. One of the aunts said the venomari are hiding out in the swamps."- 1,180 replies

Sarge grunted and drew the demonic greatsword about 5 inches. "Over my. Dead. Body." he pronounced every syllable with great diction and emphasis. The old man pocketed his hefty gold pile and nodded knowingly at Boomingham. He snorted in disdain and smirked "Pretty sure our original mission was the relaxing boat trip here." He stared at his feet momentarily and remembered the statue. He looked at Boomingham with little hesitation and spoke; "You go to that duke. But I'd rather not see him with the statue I'm keeping. I'll check out those venomari in the swampland. Though that may have been Ulrica."- 1,180 replies

Ooc: He'll become a super-successful businessman and then we'll be rewarded with a 50% share in "Hats of the orient" or whatever Sarge awoke the happiest he'd been in a long while. He lay in his bedroll for a while as the others got up, content; though after a time he himself arose, and dressed casually in a light shirt and breeches. Starkly juxtaposing the red greatsword on his back and serpent-head shield leaning against the wall. When it came to deciding what to do he shrugged in a leisurely manner. "I don't mind what we do. Got no deadlines to reach anymore. We should probably check up on the sisters. Those cobra priests are still out there. Though that may've been Ulrica." He stood up rather awkwardly and half hobbled half strutted up to the priest. "I have a lot to thank you for sir. And I'd... Errr. I'd like to know what I can do to spread the word. 'Bout the angel."- 1,180 replies

Sarge smiled warmly, pointedly ignoring Eric's sarcasm. Then, without hesitation recited his daughter's names. He hoped Peri would see some resemblance in them, but his daughters were all born to different mothers. "Well, there's Ella, Emmeline and Elise. They're all about your age lass, work in exports, mainly - all in Eubric."- 1,180 replies

Sarge held his hat in his hands for a moment in silence. Then nodded solemnly. He then looked at his feet, and smiled with no shame. He hesitated for a moment, and thought about what to say. After a second, he spoke "Well, I don't exactly need to raise ya, but. I'm sure your half sister's'd love to meed you." He looked at Eric's muttering and gave him a happy knowing look.- 1,180 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest#130: Sisters in Salmanda
Pyrovisionary replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Any shame or remorse that Sarge held for the girl's fate fleeted away from him now. Even Ella wasn't this bratty, and she used 'whom' for crying out loud. A mild rage of amusement filled him, and hesitated, bearing a bemused look. Muttering "What?" to himself with great diction. F*ckit, he would be cured soon, so he fumbled with his baccy pouch and lit a cigar quickly, but soon returned to the subject. He turned to Peri once more, being as blunt as possible, then began, cigar still hanging from the side of his mouth. "In my misspent youth, before all of this mercenary megablocks o' course; I spent alot of me years in fair Charís - killing people." He waved his hand at this as if iy was assumed. "Keep up, this is the relevant part love." He barked irritably at Peri. "In Charis I had my third. Damned. Child to the witch that done cursed me." He paused "Blonde bitch, not some green skinned bint." He muttered swiftly, almost to reassure himself. "Years later, I aint seen either girl in decades. Curse still f*cking me up though, so I go to Babeleth with Eric here to find answers, fabled tower of Babel innit. It's there we meet, all grown up, my very own prissy little insufferable dame. You. My kid." There was an awkward silence, in which the only sound was the puff of Jon's cigar. "So don't give me cheek love. I brought you into this world I'll damn well take you out of it." With that, he scoffed, stubbed out his cigar and lay down on his mat. They'd be paid tomorrow. Ooc: Speech in greentext for ease of reading- 1,180 replies

Sarge had stopped sobbing long ago, and now leaned back with his head in his hands. His eyes were still slightly red, but his face was calm in its resolve. He sniffed to unblock his nose and stood up; this would've been less awkward but for the pegleg's hinderence. He exhaled and rolled his shoulders back. Before walking up to Periwinkle, and in an embarrased tone; spoke. "Miss, I aint usually a man of long words, but this aint usual times, so sit down because I got some news for ya. Good news - I hope." He paused for a second, and felt very stupid "Do you know who I am?" He tried to smile happily but it came off as a sheepish smirk, scars would do that to a man.- 1,180 replies
