No wonder it’s such a good idea then! S24 will be interesting - after two no-animal series in a row, fingers crossed it’s overcompensation time. But it’s getting impossible to predict

Lego City 2023 Leaks, Rumours, Speculation And Discussion
williejm replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I for one think that even if we just stick solely to a ‘City’ interpretation of City - we still are animal-lacking. No pigeons, crows, ducks, raccoons, foxes or falcons for a start ;) -
You’re right. As usual. Coral was made for that flamingo!

Mountie, Lumberjill or Park Ranger with a beaver, I reckon 🦫 In practice the pattern is that EVERY animal released in CMF has been reused in time, either in sets, BAM, or more CMFs. That sometimes happens immediately, and sometimes takes a while. The ones which haven’t been or aren’t imminently being reused (mouse, flamingo, hermit crab, toucan If I recall correctly) are still *relatively* new.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
williejm replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I dunno. I think if *any* licensed series could break the new normal of 12 figures, it’s Disney. And two complete sets of a series of 18 would fit perfectly in the new boxes of 36… -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 23. Rumors and discussion
williejm replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Agree - and some pretty neat figures in their own right. The snowman, nutcracker, elf, dragon, turkey and wolf costumes are all great! Here’s hoping we are ‘overcompensated’ with animals and historical figures in Series 24 though -
Yeah they really went all over the place with the gator eyes, there’s no consistency across the adults or the babies

Interesting change to the standard cat mould. Up until now the injection mould point was at the base of the tail (giving the cats a defacto butthole). In the new 2022 versions of both ‘Crookshanks’ and ‘Mrs Norris’ from the Harry Potter sets, the injection point is on the top of the head. But ‘Sox’ in the Lightyear sets released this year still has the old mould with butthole. Maybe it’s just in the wizarding world that cat butts need censored?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
williejm replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It seems as if the January series will be Series 24. *Sometimes* the January series start showing up in shops in late December, but technically they’re next year’s release. -
Are any of the scarecrow parts new?

Given the Bricklink prices at the moment for the new animals, the Wildlife Missions set is a better buy if you get a decent discount. The secondary cost of those *tiny* piglets and lambs is totally obscene. I’m still waiting on a cheaper option for my farmyard beasties, but have managed to score the owls, panthers, hares, and crocagator.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Indeed. At this stage they might be better doing something like a quarterly ‘regular’ update on including new parts, to stop everyone asking and so they can plan around demand. -

It’s sweet. The bellhop is a great figure but the foal is the star -
City advent pics are out (although not many) - three animals in the calendar, the existing dark grey kitten, the dark orange chicken, and the foal in a new colour. Body is white, and tail/mane appears to be either tan or maybe light yellow @DBlegonerd7

So exciting. If the big set has M’Baku *and* Ramonda, it will be a dream. Now I just need every single hat and hair variation available for the Queen Mother … -

Lol @lifeinplastic no I agree with all of that. Since wombats do blocky cube-shaped poop they should be an ideal Lego animal inclusion 😂 I think I see the new animals, much as I want them aaaaaaaaallllllll, in terms of which ones are a) necessary to ‘sell’ or authenticate a particular theme, and b) which have usefulness elsewhere. That *seems* to be how Lego considers new parts, so it would make some sense. But clearly in some instances and for whatever reasons, they produce bespoke one-off animal moulds and confuse us all.
