Those are two excellent MOCs steelharbingerofdeath, they are very detailed, and very fitting to a futuristic military theme. The front cockpits are probably my favorite parts but the APC's wheel assembly is also very cool. The one thing I think you're missing is an interior shot of the APC with and without troops inside.

Review 7155 Trade Federation AAT
Skull-Mark_Ladybug replied to Skull-Mark_Ladybug's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for all the comments guy's, this was my third review so it is hopefully my best (so far). I think that this set was just barely an above average set, but this was part of Lego’s first wave of SW sets so I guess it was the best they could do with so little experience. If anyone else has comments please post 'm . Yeah this set was also one of my favorites when I was a kid. I think you're right about it being excellently designed for the time period. I mean we hold everything to today's standards which are much higher than they were several years ago. Heck when I was a kid I don't think I was ever bothered by the blue on the back off the AAT because back then it was cool enough to have an AAT from the movies. Thanks for the comment, I too like to see reviews of older sets, it' nice to see how Lego has changed over the years. Since I'e recently rebuilt this set I' probably not going to buy the new AAT, I'l instead buy some droids or clones to go with this one. I also noticed that Lego added random colours to sets back then, I still don’t understand why. Maybe it was to save money or maybe it was to make it easier to build, who knows. The minig=figs were another problem in this set as you mentioned, but I would have preferred Naboo guards or republic forces over battle droids because then there would be something for the AAT to shoot, but I guess that' why we buy other Lego sets. Shhh if jolly ol'St. Kim hears you dissin'his ride you won' be getting any of the new SW sets this year. -
Battle For The Base Plates
Skull-Mark_Ladybug replied to just2good's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well it would be nice I guess, but not necessary. I mean most Lego sets really don’t need a base plate, as they wouldn’t add much to the sets besides just being there. Besides whenever a set does need a base plate (say a building of some sort), one is included. If you are in a tremendous need of base plates I suggest simply buying some off of shop@home. -
Well he’s quite the creepy little monstrosity indeed, but I love him. Frank’s very interesting to look at all the small battle droid parts being used seem to add plenty of details to look at. My favorite part has probably got to be the head; I love the use of battle droid legs here. I honestly can’t stop looking at him he just is so cool/creepy looking; I really hope to see more “tan fantasy” from you.

Bursting out of Star Wars Episode I the fearsome AAT is one of my personal favorites. When I first saw it on the shelves of Zellers I knew I had to have it. After saving up for it I finally brought it home to terrorize my Jedi. To date Lego has made two versions of this tank. Although the newer one is bigger and perhaps more detailed, the first rendering is still a force to be reckoned with. Name: Trade Federation AAT Theme: Star Wars Episode I Set Number: 7155 Pieces: 158 Year released: 2000 Minifigures: 2 Price: USD $20.00 (when released) Helpful links: Brickset My Brickshelf Peeron Box As Usual first up is a picture of the box. It has some nice CGI effects including the lasers and explosions, which are very similar to today's box art. I love the little icon in the top right corner. I wish Lego would start adding them to the box art again. As I no longer have the original box here's peeron's: Minifigs Minifig wise, we only get two standard battle droids. One to act as a pilot, the other as the gunner. I think that a set like this should have at least one more minifig, either a Naboo guard or another battle droid would fit the bill nicely. Accessories The battle droids come armed with two megaphone blasters. I always thought that these two blasters were more powerful then other blasters, because the usual one by one plate has been replaced with a bigger cone. The gunner also gets a pair of binoculars... to bad he can't use them. Models There is only one main model in the set, which is also built in one part (no numbered bags here). AAT overview Wow looking at this thing from the front you can see how deadly this thing is. I count thirteen guns including the printed designs on the large round pieces. For a 9 year old set it's also pretty detailed. Back View Alas the back view of the set isn't nearly as spectacular as the front end, mainly because there's plenty of out of place blue bricks. Honestly would it have been that hard to swap them for some tan or brown pieces? Top View Here's a top view of the tank, and yes the hatch and the big round pieces are printed. A little bit of tiling wouldn't hurt in my eyes. Engines/Gun Rack I always loved the use of the circular pieces in this set they just seem to fit so well as engines. Here you can also see a little gun rack that Lego included for the droids. Due to their location they look a lot like booster engines. Cockpit The printed hatch piece is made to be easily removable to allow you to put the battle droid in and out. Besides having no controls inside ( I suppose the pilot just plugs's into the AAT) there are also some large cracks on the side. Turret exterior The turret is built on a turntable so it can rotate, but only a little since it gets jammed against some other blocks. I like the choice of piece for the hatch. The gun barrel is good as well being very detailed. Turret Movement The main gun is also built on hinges so it can move up and down. This picture shows how far the turret can rotate in one direction and how high the gun can go. Turret Interior I sure hope that the Trade Federation's health care plan includes chiropractor visits, the gunner is going to need it. The top hatch is connected via hinge bricks to allow it to move up and down. Behind the gunner is a pair of binoculars. The joystick being used as an antenna is also a nice touch. Finished set and Comparison Lastly here’s the finished set, and a photo of the 2009 AAT from Brickset, to compare with: 8018 Armoured Assault Tank Rating Time! Price 8/10 The finished model is pretty big, the price seems fair. Playability 7/10 The tank is nice and swooshable, but you need to have some other Star Wars sets to destroy with the tank. Minifigures 5/10 Two standard battle droids, again another minifigure should have been included (even Jar jar would have been nice). Also the battle droids should have blue markings on them they are pilots after all. Design 6/10 From the front the AAT looks really nice but the backside is very lacking since there are random bits of blue throughout. Total 6.5/10 Overview As one of Lego’s first Star Wars sets 7155 is a decent set, with plenty of nice tan pieces. Although not one of the best sets out there it’s still faithful to it’s movie counterpart, and holds a place in many of my childhood memories. If you can find this set for a good price on E-Bay or Bricklink I recommend picking it up if not maybe you should instead buy the newer version.

Although this set is not officially part of the 2009 Pirate line up, it's still an attractive set to Pirate fans. The main feature for this set is the unique minifig. The rest of the set is composed of standard pieces, but for the $13 bucks 150 pieces is a good deal. The set has three main models, but due to the parts it's easy to build plenty of other models. I for one plan to use some of the parts to help mod the other 2009 pirate sets. Name: Pirate Building set Theme: Bricks and more Set Number: 6192 Pieces: 150 Year released: 2009 Minifigures: 1 Price: 12.99CAD, 9.99USD, 6.85GBP Helpful links: Shop@Home Brickset Box Front of Box First up is the front of the box, which shows the main models of the set: Back of Box The back of the box showcases some of the alternate models that can be built from the set, which is quite rare nowadays. Parts Inventory An index of parts is printed on one side of the box which mimics past creator type sets. Minifig Minifig Front Side I'm actually kind of surprised (in a pleasant way), that Lego went so far as to and include a unique minifigure in a small set. Truth be told, the torso is my favorite Pirate torso to date, it even has a printed backside. The face looks a little to young to be a hardcore pirate, but I guess that's because the set is intended for small children. Well enough talk here's a picture of the pirate in all his glory: Pirate Back Side And here’s a shot of his back. This years pirates seem awfully fond of sashes. Accessories There aren't many accessories, but it does include 2 swords (one is extra) and three diamonds/clear crystals (whatever you want to call them). Would have been nice to include a pistol since I'm low on them. Parrot The pirate also has a nice brick built pet parrot/tropical bird. It’s very nice and colourful to represent the colourful nature of tropical birds. I for one love the cheese slopes being used for wings. The Pirate and his pet The two together: Manual Manual Sample Page There’s a small instruction manual included. The front manual picture is the same as the box, but here’s a sample picture from the instructions Models Since there are a huge variety of models in the set I'll only show the main ones. Treasure Chest First up the brick built treasure chest. Man this thing is big, but it’s no wonder. Holding diamonds that big one would be stupid to put them in only a standard treasure chest. The chest can open and close thanks to a hinge piece, but the diamonds need to be put inside in a certain way so that the chest can fully close. Shark Next up we get a nice shark, not much else to say, besides it’s brick built and has some nice blue slopes. Front Overview Lastly the biggest main model the Pirate ship :skull: . This is actually pretty cool in a cartoonish sort of way and this thing can probably be integrated into anyone’s pirate display in some way or another. It’s clear to see that the designers put some effort into this, as it includes almost everything a ship needs: such as a mast, cannons, a plank and a steering wheel. Only thing it’s lacking is a figure head, but I guess that’s what the birds for . I'll start off with an overview of the model: Mast and Flag Seems Lego forgot to add a skull onto the sail, good thing it has a nice black flag to warn everyone of the potential threat instead. Interior Next is a picture of the interior. Did I forget to mention that the mast is on a turntable so it can rotate? Back Overview Lastly here is an overview from another angle: "Parrot Island" Since this is technically a creator set to encourage young builders to design models on their own. I figure it wouldn’t be proper for me not to post a picture of a model I made from the left over parts from the main models . Taa daa! It's a Parrot Island! (A.K.A. a rock. ). The Whole set Finally the whole set together (including a few extra pieces that weren't used): Rating Time Price 10/10 150 pieces including an awesome minifigure is a great deal for 13 dollars today, nothing I can complain about. Playability 9/10 A nice small pirate ship and treasure which is basically all you'll need to have plenty of fun. Minifigures 8/10 One minifigure for a $13 dollar set isn’t bad especially considering it has a unique torso and head. However it would have been nice to get a plain bicorne or tricorne to go on the minifig, instead of a printed one, since it doesn’t have as many uses. A pistol would have also been nice, but I can’t take away to many points for minor flaws like those. Design 9/10 A nice quick and easy build for young fans, plus almost nothing seems overly fragile. Only problems are that the flag falls off often and the chest has trouble closing properly sometimes. Total 9/10 Overview 6192 is a great overall set, especially for younger builders but it still has plenty of appeal to older fans as well. For such a small set Lego included lot’s of pieces. It also included instructions to build a few solid models, and for the cherry on top it included an exclusive minifig. Overall it’s an excellent set that no Pirate fan should be without. I gave it a 5/5 what about you?

Well I think it's very probable that Lego will start making sets based off video games. I mean if the megablok sets sell well Lego would be stupid not to start making their own video game sets. Of course Lego won't do sets based off games such as Gears of war or FEAR, but there are plenty of more child friendly games out there. At the moment it's really just a waiting game to wait for more news on Lego's future moves .

I know it's really sad I mean think about it the current ATTE and Gunship together are $260 Canadian. Yet the Walker and drop ship are 350 and it appears that each model is smaller than a similar counterpart. The drop ship is just like the gunship but missing its main hold . Ugh the rest of '09s line up will probably end up following suite.

That picture was brought up a very long time ago. Its fake someone made it for April fools, in fact I think that the article it came from stated it was fake. Besides Megabloks has the Halo license now.

Questions and Concerns for TLG
Skull-Mark_Ladybug replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Weird the croc from my Loot island had the same problem . I thought that there already was a lego store in Toronto or somewhere in Ontario. If Leog does build some in Canada why don't they build one somewhere in the western part of Canada as well. -
Haha I noticed that too; I believe that we also broke the last record last week. I agree we should get rid of the current number, I think it's bad luck :skull: .

Very well done Memory; your fighter has a unique design and incorporates plenty of detail. My favorite parts of it are the use of stickers and dark green they really add to the overall feel of the model .

Power Miners a flop?
Skull-Mark_Ladybug replied to Legomyeggo's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I have mixed views on this theme. I like the whole idea of some sort of large scale mining operation, and the sets have some nice pieces, but a lot of the sets feel rather empty. Most of the models are big but have tons of large holes in them, so set design quality seems low. The rock monsters also seem like an afterthought, since they have no real weapons or bases. I think that once more stores get more ’09 stuff sales of PM will go up. Oh and the 25% sale at TRU isn’t just on PM it’s on most themes like Pirates or City, by any two sets from a theme and save 25% as I understand. -
Well you certainly have skill when it comes to photo editing and background stories. As for the wagon it's not that bad, but I agree that it would look better if it was more rickety looking. I think using some brown or black plates with headlight bricks on the sides could improve it a bit .

Latest updates on LEGO set sales
Skull-Mark_Ladybug replied to gylman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Toy's R Us is having a nice sale in Canada on plenty of products. Buy any two sets form Pirates City etc. and save 25%. My mom bought a Brickbeard's Bounty and a cannon battle so she saved $30 bucks off of BB, which is great news for me . -
I'm liking what I'm seeing . This is the first MOC I've seen to use the new Brickarms rockets, and for such a small MOC you've incorporated plenty of details; the red is also a nice contrast to the gray. Is this MOC but a part of large Rebel base you plan to reveal sometime further down the road?

Thinking of buying your own Death Star?
Skull-Mark_Ladybug replied to Ras 74's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Interesting very interesting... Now I'm wondering how much it would cost to build a Death Star made of Lego . -
As far as I know, it's not possible. I too have tried to change my password, but I couldn't find an option for it anywhere. I also googled it, but it only said that it was impossible .

Helloooo Mr. Moo Cow.
-
Really it wasn't actually sold. That's rather cruel to pretend to buy something, then not buy it . Honestly though, I'm not surprised it hasn't sold. $10,000 dollars isn't that bad of a price for a large model like the stadium, but I don't think anyone will be able to drop $10,000 for Lego in a single E-Bay auction. I hope they continue building and have better luck with their next model/s.

And here I was thinking that Lego world had an epidemic of albino’s. I doubt that you’re the first to use fleshie’s to represent people of other nationalities, but it’s a good idea nonetheless, since I’m sure not every minifig was born and raised in Springfield.

Mega Blocks Gets Halo License
Skull-Mark_Ladybug replied to BingoBrown's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Well I'm a 1st person shooter fan so in my eyes Halo is a pretty good game. However I doubt that MegaBlockz will do that good with it. I mean I’ve seen some of their other current products, and it seems none of them are simply solid building block sets. So the halo theme will probably end up as a bunch of oversized action figures with 5 piece warthogs. Also I wish people would stop bashing Halo and condemning it as something Lego would never do because there are guns, violence, and purple blood. I mean war is war, I’m sure the skeletons and crownies would much rather hack each other’s limbs off; than go to a tea party together. War is war. All that matters is that it sells well. Still, I would like to see some of their Halo products... just to see how they look. -
Anything and everything made specifically for Galidor. I really hope I don't have to explain why I think it's the worst . Neat idea for a thread BTW.

Watch your back!
Skull-Mark_Ladybug replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Maybe you could replace them with a slightly larger pillar made from slopes and bricks, it would look a little more natural. However this is still an excellent MOC by all means I to like the cave wall effect and the flying rock monster.
