EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread

Nice job darkagent! It's much better with the queen next to her husband and the red carpet on the floor I'd only change the flags sticking out of the wall to flags hanging on the wall, because it looks quite busy that way.. Otherwise it's very well done! Thumbs up! -

sorry it's taking so long, but in the coming weeks I'll have to study quite a lot, so I don't have much time to build new mocs.. I hope the community build won't stop within the next few days? Go alpha! -
First of all, you should buy what you want most I know, sometimes it's hard to chose.. You could buy 44 Imperial soldiers (what would be a great investment if they're in good condition), because I think these are going to be worth a lot of money in the future! One disadvantage, you can't build something only with minifigs So if you'd buy ship pieces and other bulk bricks, you could build whatever you want.. I'd recommand you to split it.. Buy 20/25 soldiers, and with the money that is left you could buy loose pieces. But,, it's up to you do decide of course! Kenny.

Hey, it's just a hobby as any other hobby!! Never forget that! There are people who are thrilled to buy the newest miniscaled train, and there are people who would fight to get the latest Legoset! When there's someone talking bad about Lego, just let him say what he has to say, and don't listen to it.. I'm 19 years old (almost 20) and all of my friends know that Lego is one of my (many) hobbies. Most of them even react: "I'd play with it too, if I had the money to buy it" It's them who laugh that are imature, not you Just enjoy Lego! Kind Regards Kenny.

Wooohoow, barbed wire! It's a lovely piece!

Aliencat, you can handle any theme, isn't it? Lovely vehicle I must say! It could easily be sold as a set...

Great use of the powerfunctions! I really like some movement in a castle! Otherwise it's so dead.. (when it stands on a layout) In the castle I'm building now, there will also be some electrical things (but not the gates). Nice job!

You've already made a great entrance here at Eurobricks And welcome! You used simple techniques, but the final result is outstanding! It's a very realistic castle with nice details in it! Very well done! I'd gladly see more of your works in the future... I especially love castles with wooden structures in it, such as the wooden coverred passage on the back of the main gate & the wooden pieces in the tower! Certainly keep up the good work Kenny.

Yes, I'm planning to make a siege. First it'll be a normal castle, with medieval life in it, and afterwards I'll make a battle scene too. I'm also a bit disappointed that I couldn't finish the first one, but it would have taken too many pieces, money and time to wait! There were already a lot of buildinghours in it, so it was quite hard to suddenly make the decission to demolish it, but oh well.. it's too late now

Here's the beginning of my second castle.. Due to a (rather huge) lack of pieces to finish the first one, I've started this one. I have a lot of nice details in mind to add to it. Most of the things will be kept: Waterfall, river, the army, the tower with the pointy roof, the look of the walls, the houses, the tree in the courtyard, etc. The surface will be the same: 4 x 4 / 5 x 4 baseplates (so totally about 20 baseplates). There's a drawing too of how it should look like. It won't be a 100% the same, but the basic structure will be maintained. Comments are very welcome! 2nd try Here are the pics of the first castle, to compare them both Capital City Castle And to all: A very Merry Christmas and my best wishes for 2009!

Lovely! They're very detailed! But what are the round plates 1x1 standing for?
-
I've heard from these cannons before, but didn't know they were this size!
-
omg.. have these cannons ever been used in battle? they're huuuge..
-
Blurry, as you said, but very interesting! that camper...
-
The figs are great, but the cannons are just too adorable .. especially to make a battleship!

The basic structure of the hallway is , but wouldn't it be better to tile the whole floor (with a pattern)? And about the height.. I think that the Entranceway will be a bit higher than 7 bricks.. Certainly when there's a staircase in it. -
