  1. Excellent news from Thraxus! I forgot to mention I am taking a leaf from Mitgardia. I wish to offer reward to the 4 greatest builders in this guild in the form of rewarding titles and additional internal building challenges as well. Shall we all start off with some vignettes? Consult some of Angeli's ideas or the story of Nocturnus in the first post as well. Lets see what demons look like, lets see some swamp land and creatures, lava pools etc Lets whip this place into shape! lisqr, Dr Rod and Cij Daoke are already leading the way nicely.
  2. Great to see some new races emerging from the dark corners of the East! If I still had a heart it would be pleased. All these members from Van diemens land too, most appropriate. Angeli I appreciate your efforts mate. It's just a lot of your ideas we already planned on saving for the comp rounds! Your ideas need to feature all of the eastern landscape too, otherwise we won't flesh out our whole region. People are already planning some cool builds too, we just haven't attracted a lot of builders with smaller collections due to our landscape and select minifigures. The whole idea is to get you all building and having fun, and you can all ask your questions here too. Now who is keen on the Watch tower idea? Who will earn some gold four our guild?
  3. Hell's gate is impressive my second in charge! I for one would love to see some lava spewing forth rather than water, but it is pretty close to neutral ground, so maybe not likely. Rakath mountains are after all a little way away from the edge of our guild land.
  4. We were working towards making the points useful for purchasing arms etc or taking land away from other guilds etc. More news coming soon.
  5. What an icon of the AFOL landscape! I guess its time had to come, as long as you have no regrets. PM sent btw

Totals Mitgardia- 3,119 Nocturnus- 2,935 Kalphlin- 3,180 Avalonia- 3,292 ANNOUNCING: Prelude to Challenge V is up! Challenge IV - "Elemental Mayhem" has been announced! Challenge ends on August 5th, 2012. Announcing: Challenge III - Treasure Hunt 1st Prize 10223 Kingdoms Joust! Description: Build an epic scene which depicts your adventurer entering and searching a mysterious location for the Elemental Crystals. The location may be any fantasy/castle site you wish, but it must feel ancient, remote, and ominous. (Ancient tombs, catacombs, jungle ruins, long-forgotten temples, sewers, caves, bandit hideouts and many others are all possibilities!) The crystal must be guarded by some sort of guardian or trap, and a heavy emphasis on thematic building is encouraged. (For example if you are building an ancient tomb, undead may guard the treasure, and if you are building a jungle locale, natives/wild animals may be the guardians)Guardians may be dispersed throughout the location, or only appear in the treasure chamber. Anything can be a guardian; from people, to magical beings to mechanized sentinels. Specifics: • No size limit: Build as big or small as you wish, points won’t be based on size, but on quality, detail and imagination. • Build must be an ancient site, may be set indoors, outdoors, in any climate and environment. • Build must include guardians. (see above) • Build should be accompanied by a short story about the adventurer's trials through the location. (Either comic-form or narrative paragraph) • Build must contain the correct crystal/gem piece for your Guild as a treasure: If you haven't already joined a guild, you must do so with a picture of your character and elite troops as detailed in the first post of each guild. Avalonia - Green (Earth) Kaliphlin - Blue (Water) Mitgardia - Clear (Air) Nocturnus - Red (Fire) There are two months to build for this round, (Due date April 28th, 2012) and we are raising the bar of expectations yet again, so take your time and build quality MOC's! We will be looking for details, imagination, building techniques and good presentation. Let's find these crystals so that we may unlock the greatest treasure in all of Historica! =============================== Origins of Historica The bard’s song tells a tale of a world long forgotten, Race against race, clan against clan, shields clashed with swords; long ago when Men of the Lion fought Men of the Falcon, and human armies succumbed to Orcs and undead. Each group clashed with its neighbor for power, unleashing upon the world a great scourge, and the arcane land was thrown into chaos. When it all seemed but lost, a council of wise men and sages was summoned. From all the lands they came to convene in the old world’s great city; the fortress of Cedrica. To settle the grievance and end a millennium of bloodshed, the sages declined all the treaties of old and joined all the clans into one mighty Kingdom; Historica. They founded the Four Great Regions- each one a realm in itself; - Mitgardia in the North, Nocturnus in the East, Kaliphlin in the South and Avalonia in the West, so that trade routes would spring up and clans would meet in the markets and not in the theatre of war. The wise men chose a family of great honor, to uphold the truce and to keep the four guilds from dispute, and descendants of that mighty kin to this day rule the Central lands of Historica. So goes the legend. For ten decades the races of old have migrated and spread through the world, following the trade routes, establishing cultures and prospering towns. Today, it is a world of wonder and natural beauty; a realm where a man and a woman may find peace. But peace is short lived… Treacherous assassins have tried to murder the King! The capital is in shock and there will be repercussions; the Four Regions assemble their forces as the balance of power shifts, and blame is passed around. For the first time in a century, the guilds of Historica build up old defenses and prepare for the inevitable confrontation; everything hangs in the balance, and Historica is on the verge of chaos once more… Guildsmen; this is the world you inhabit, this is the place where you will make your fortune, build a mighty empire and battle for the glory and honor of the banner… Current score total: Mitgardia - 1195 Gold darcis Nocturnus - 1114 Gold darics Kaliphlin - 1174 Gold darcis Avalonia - 1181 Gold darcis Old Challenges: Your first task will be to; Challenge 1: (All Along the Watchtower) Build a watchtower to defend your realm. Build a tower of power for your troops to defend a corner of your realm, We are looking for a small fortification on no larger than 32x32, let you imagination run wild as to how best defend the land, towers, treehouses, shanty barriers, rock slide etc, knock yourself out. The five best from each guild as decided by the guild will earn bonus points, bragging rights, possibly new titles and tags as well! All guild members are encouraged to take part in the build categories. Points will be earned for participation, but don't rush, you will have a month to complete the first task. You may post WIP shots as well in your guild thread to gain assistance, but all completed MOCs should be posted in their own topic with the Guild name in the description and the guild standard in the MOC as well to classify as a Guild build. Lets see what you can come up with people! The guild leaders will sit this round out to allow you all the creative freedom to start developing the world of Historica in your own eyes, so go forth and create.[/i] You may ask your questions in this topic. Just remember: WIP shots in your Guild pinned topics Complete MOC posted as separate topic Have fun!
  7. Lo to the Drow, do not forget your place in the kingdom of the east! Whilst your challenges are indeed worthy challenges, the decree shall be handed done soon that will reward many Nocturnus guild members. Lord Ssillrylith will take your challenges on board as future tasks, and of course guild members are welcome to join you on some quests too. Let's just say your skills will be most valuable shortly. Lets not forget its best to define our lands defenses and style before launching an offensive, we can't afford to leave our lands undefended afterall If members would like to try these ones for now, that is cool. Guild points may be awarded as well, but no guarantees 1.Perform dark ritual Make a dark ritual of any kind. Anything that you think is suitable - it is! 3.Craft a weapon Invent new weapon in minifig size. Use what ever you like, any bricks, as long as you can bring some punishment with it, you are on the right track! 7. Craft a wand Spelcasters love to wield staffs, wands and other magical items that are imbued with power. Make one! The rest shall be considered for great reward in future quests I think, what say the rest of you? Do you all have ideas for creations and raiding in the future as well?
  8. Mountain Mummies, that's too good! Rakath strikes again!
  9. Great Colosseum, love the thriving atmosphere you have crammed in. Not sure which way they got the elephant in though
  10. Thanks for the kind words guys. I really need to put up a picture of IG88, Zuckuss and 4LOM, so here goes.
  11. Well done my loyal subjects, I am most pleased with the armies you have assembled thus far.... I present the Reptrians, scaring off those foolhardy enough to travel into the Kelra labyrinths. We shall have some challenges before us shortly, of which we shall earn points against our foes. I understand not all will have time to build all the time, but working as a team we shall triumph, we shall invest time in helping each other MOC better and define our lands as lorax already has. (We will put forward candidates for the building challenges, as the guilds may have uneven numbers, for example we may build 5 watch towers from each guild. We can work together to help people out with tips and ideas to make the MOCs better, more authentic, nicer photography etc. Its all about having fun building and improving our skills, so enjoy fleshing out this slice of Historica or Historia or whatever I wrote ) We shall recieve points already for avatars and armies as well, so hold firm and fill our ranks with all the denizens of darkness.
  12. Yes please guys, head to your favourite guild and sign up there. We have places for all! I may even the guilds up later if one is lacking in members, so I don't mind if you guys leave the selection up to me.

I will try in vain to work out who is in what guild in the meantime. If anyone sees this post then they can post in the appropriate thread as well. Cheers.
  14. All of you of course, didn't mean to torment you Khorne Please post your intentions into the relevant guild topic as well. Each Guild leader can add you to their respective lists.

  17. We are so close to launching guys, hang in there. @Rook, this project will run for at least a year we hope, some builds are small like avatars and vignettes, others will be more extravagant builds etc, competitions are along the way as well.

The Kelra Labyrinths are home to the Minotaurus and Reptrians, who hold sway over the arrivals of foreign guilds to the eastern darklands. Often a sizable 'donation' is expected as well as the correct answer to one of the many riddles posed by the Minotaurus. Should guildsmen fail at this task, they may be pursued through the labyrinthin stonework and bracken by the Reptrians who hunt for their prey within. Those skilled at passing through the depths of Kelra will find themselves with the next challenge of how best to negotiate the mountainous divide of Rakath, home to Dwarves, Orcs, Dragons, and of course the Drow, an ancient species of dark elves. Is the high road the best plan? Does a trip to the underworld yield better results, not many return from these ranges quite as they were. Finally off to the eastern Moruth swamplands, home to the army of undead things....the least said of this ungodly marshy area the better, though it is rumoured that this was the homeland of Lord Ssilyrrlith, and where he began his journey to ascendancy of the guild Nocturnus. You will find humans surviving scattered throughout the darklands, they will always find a way to prosper, but its how they prosper that leaves them a scarred race... Ruler: Lord Ssilyrrlith Not a lot is known about the Lord Ssilyrrlith, Guildmaster of the Nocturnus, other than his decades long tenure uniting the varied beastly inhabitants of the Eastern darklands. His appointment was shrouded in secrecy though some say he earned the right to lead in a bloody tournament featuring the five trials of Karna. Standard: The standard of the Nocturnus represents not only the blood spilled, but the lust for exploitation of natural resources. The rich veins of ore running through the Rakath ranges draw many races to its bosom, only to be horribly changed by the hostile environment within, only the strong adapt and survive. The red and gold are a constant reminder and rallying cry to all the creatures of the darkland, it is a symbol of the strength that the guild master must possess to lead such a varied and unpredictable band of races. Economy: The Nocturnus guild earns a lot of its wealth from the sulfuric lava flows, rich veins of mineral ore and a recklessness for personal safety. First Task: Guildsmen are expected to have a character prepared that will represent them in MOCS, and will appear as their avatar on Eurobricks. I strongly suggest you include the colors of the Guild, and get some flags ready, our enemies will tremble before the might of the East! Second Task: Design the look and feel for the Nocturnus Army which will be comprised of many and varied races. Ideally it should be made with relatively available parts so that everyone can build their own. Third Task: Design an emissary and vehicle Fourth Task: Design a weapon of war, ie catapult etc. There will be a points system for creations coming soon to see which Guild is supreme!
