  1. Terrible news today, Francis Matthews, the man who voiced Captain Scarlet, passed away aged 86. A link to the BBC news article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-27859814 Rik Mayall, Sam Kelly, and now Francis Matthews, so many people recently have passed away I've held in high regard, you will all be missed, rest in peace.
  2. Thanks LT! I've had a go at making it smaller, and it looks better, I'll post pics soon. Well, seems like I broke my own rule again! My plan is to post something every Friday/Saturday/Sunday, so hopefully I'll stick to that! As I realise classic town isn't everyone's cup of tea, I've got something City based. I got 7208 Fire Station ages back from a friend for Christmas, I've MODed the building itself since, but more so the Fire Tender. Getting in through the roof? No controls for the ladder or the fire hose? It, personally, was asking to be ripped to bits and rebuilt, so here's the results. Comments, criticisms, and suggestions are all welcome, oh, and sorry about my "studio", it fell to bits after fifteen shots so it looks a bit dishevelled. Without further ado, A front-ish view, I added a side door, rearranged the parts on the bottom at the back, and added a handle bar for minifig safety. A side view. Fire officer Redshirt demonstrates the door. You can see the equipment inside a bit. The other side, note the nozzle controls. The inside, more controls and a couple of cheese slopes to illustrate a dashboard. Nothing fancy, also a TV screen is located under the white panelling for up to date info on blazing infernos. A parting shot of some intrepid Fire redshirts officers next to the tender. Enjoy!
  3. Faefrost, though I've never bought an Star Wars UCS set, nor am I likely to in the future, I got a similar feeling when I built the Imperial Flagship. I sat down from eight in the morning till four in the evening, and savoured building it. Probably the best build I've experienced, and when I built it, though a supreme sense of pride filled me (my first and only D2C set currently), there was a small part of me that regretted that I'd never build it again. The PR looks superb, I've seen and handled a Market Street, Green Grocer, and a Café Corner, and I've nearly bought the Town Hall and Palace Cinema, but when I saw PR, I knew I had to buy it. Looks like it may be by Christmas, but it will be mine! Thanks for the clarification, I was in a mini dark age due to events out of my control when this topic was made, so I've found it and read it and then kind of got it confused in my head with other sites, I couldn't remember what rumour was what!
  4. I've got to say, I'm on the verge of buying the Parisian Restaurant, but if they made a detective agency....I may have to buy that too! Damn I'm hooked, "Crackular Buildings" I thinks a better term for them, and I haven't even bought one yet! I really enjoy the Dixon Hill episodes of Star Trek TNG, and after making Dixon out of Lego it'd be great to give him a home. I get the feeling I'm trying to make excuses to myself to buy it, and it isn't even confirmed... Has there ever been a rumour of a Modular that's been wrong? I remember talk about a Police Station and a Post Office, but I'm not sure.
  5. Words cannot describe how stunning this is! You've really captured the craziness and insanity of Arkham's usual residents, the detail on this is just crazy, unbelievably mind blowingly superb. If I could afford a plane ticket, I'd be on my way to Chicago to see Brickworld. Good luck, I hope this is front paged.
  6. Rebuilt my city from the ground up, went to sort 38 unsorted containers and gave up immediately, and rebuilt a castle tower.
  7. I quite like it! I'd agree with some others over the fact it's not symmetrical, but hell, most buildings near me aren't symmetrical after years of renovation and decline and repair and demolition. I do like the tunnel though, with all the fire vehicles Lego make, you'd think the fire service would need a spot at the back for some, or to wash or repair the current fire fighting equipment. I don't own the original, so I'm no expert, but to me the tunnel and the window look like an extension of the original, if you look at the front only. As others have said I'd say to improve perhaps an attempt to make it look more uniform or something like that would be good, though ultimately I'd go with what you feel is best. Either way, I look forward to seeing the interior!
  8. Wow! Really impressed by both, I echo previous comments by saying I'd love to see a truck/car to tow these, not to mention the whole trailer park! I personally like the purple, something different about it that makes it look unique, those windows in particular look appropriate for a caravan. Great work as always eurotrash, I eagerly await more!
  9. It depends which alcoholic beverage we're looking at. Whisky and Brandy tends to increase my concentration whereas rum for example turns me into a blithering idiot. Wine, larger, beer and anything else you can throw at me has varied results.
  10. I've been using XL grey plates due to price and availability (I started using these in 2009/10). Back then I didn't have many buildings, so it was the best thing. Now it's a pain in the rear, and is actually hampering my building currently, though I'm after the 90s style roadplates on eBay.
  11. I'm Irish and live near Birmingham, UK, though I don't like to be more specific due to fear of EB paratroopers privacy.
  12. Hi, I found the old town layout index: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=62405 Lot's feature modulars but a few are either Town or a cross between Town and City. EDIT: mawich's city Brickshelf gallery, not in the link above, made of Town sets from 1978 to about 2000 plus a few MOCs: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=410928
  13. Thanks Rinzler, and sorry for the late reply! I've been looking infrequently on eBay to see if anyone has spare minimate parts, particularly weapons, for any Cardassians, Klingons, Romulans etc. So far, I've made: More redshirts for a (hopefully) upcoming DS9 MOC Sloan Weyoun A Mek'leh blade for Worf Half way through making Dukat, the female changeling, and Winn, and I'm looking at perhaps making Keiko, Eddington, and, though I currently don't have the parts, the crew from Far Beyond The Stars. If Dukat's successful, I'd love to try making Tain and Dumar as well. Beyond DS9, it's possible I may branch out to TOS and Voyager, but before hand I'd like to expand my TNG stuff, as I've found a great hair piece for Shelby.
  14. 6397 Gas N' Wash Express, the first petrol station I've bought, and a damn good one I might add! Waited since 2008 to get a good deal on this one, and well, I bit the bullet and paid more than I thought I should've, though now I realise I would've paid double for it had I realised how good it really is!.
  15. I was browsing the various forums one night when I happened upon an interesting comment from user Panthro in "The Simpsons 2014 Rumors & Discussion" on 20th May 2014, "Toys R Us, Worlds Apart and Forbidden Planet (I think) have them too. I had a good feeling session with a member of staff in the Liverpool Lego Store in order to secure Itchy and Scratchy." The first part's perfectly fine, but the second made me spray coffee across my keyboard. Perhaps a no-prize award is in order for "most dedication in finding Itchy and Scratchy by an AFOL" or something akin to that.
  16. Groundhog day. Never gets old, must have watched it a hundred times and it's always enjoyable, one of my favourite films, though I've noticed the marmalade effect with it. You either really love it, or really hate it.
  17. Brainiac perhaps in that picture?
  18. Thanks greg3 and LT! LT, glad you like it! Any suggestions on how to improve it? greg3, glad you like them, and I know what you mean! I've really been in a classic town frame of mind the last few weeks (after getting a whole heap of classic sets) so lots more in that style! I've had flu all week so I've been busy building stuff, so up next, a few jeeps, a classic four wide convertible, MODed Fire Stations, a merged classic Exxon fuel tanker, plus a few other things.
  19. So, as pretty much promised, a telephone box! Not based on any countries Telephone boxes in particular, I was inspired by the (few still complete) modern British boxes in terms of the reflective glass. Everything else just came from either my memory or imagination. The telephone box, designed to be sturdy, but also modular in a sense for quick destruction I mean, disassembly. A side view. When I got these panels I knew I had to use them for this project. Their stickers, I believe. The back, not meant to be viewed, I may add a printed piece or something to cover the back. Any suggestions would be great! Another side view! It's exactly the same as the other side, expect for the accidental reflection of my desk. A top view. An inside view. A pic of Joe inside the box. An extra "alternative" model, a British version! Complete with urinating drunken fool, smashed glass, burnt out innards, and nicked petty cash. Enjoy!
  20. Is currently revelling in his anarchic flower beds.

  21. Thing wore white pants, and a white vest, when the FF changed to the Future Foundation. Thing also has wore red along with the rest of the FF recently I believe, though I have no clue why, I'm out of touch with the comics so perhaps someone else can help. Loving the Thing! Though I believe he should be one of these quasi big figs (like some of the TMNT figs), I'm still going to get this one. Looks great, is it original or is it based on someone's custom?
  22. Thanks laka! I've been considering getting some of those panels, unfortunately I've got none spare, except in black, white, and yellow, so to save the colour scheme I stayed with the 1X1s in the mean time. The panels (I think) would also act as "shelving" for the larger crates (the 2X3s, if that makes sense). I'd never thought of that! Thanks for the idea, I love that truck, it always seemed a shame that (to my knowledge) no other vehicle sported the same colour scheme and insignia (though I'm aware a few tow trucks have had the same motorway logo and a yellow/red colour scheme, such as 6674 Crane Truck).
  23. Thanks LT (If I may call you that)! I'm not a very good MOCer, far from it to be honest, I find I'm better at getting official sets and modifying them. That's not to say I don't MOC though! I may break my own rule and upload a Telephone box MOC tomorrow while I have spare time, so keep an eye out.
  24. What about awards? I'm no expert, no clue when these awards happen and it's a stretch for sure, just an idea.
