I have 5 legends now :-) Ackar is missing. It is so obvious that Stronius is the best canister set ever, and only beaten by other Bionicle sets like Kardas etc. because of size. Stronius is the best Bionicle ever made, period
-
I am amazed, very good quality. Keep up the good work. Front

...when your work at Lego, and most of your pay go to buying sets at the employees store.

If you see my review of Stronius here on EB, you will see that I placed the torso armor one module too high by intuition, when I rebuilt him. I only realised that after I posted the review. I don't understand your view of the possible head/neck movements when that armor is placed high. I still think he can have his head placed nicely down between the two shoulder armors. I have a feeling that the armor has been placed in the low position in the building instructions and all other graphic material, by a mistake. I think the designer Dave actually wanted the armor placed in the top position. Front

I enjoyed seeing this model at Legoworld in Copenhagen in February 2009, but also having a quick look at the building process, when you worked at the similar large Koldinghus castle, inside the very same castle. Lego is getting big publicity value from your models, only having to supply the bricks. I know Ina together with others also did the 6:1 scaled Creator House (4954, Model Town House), and I've enjoyed having a closer look at that impressive work. Keep up the good work, I hope to have the time and oppertunity some day, to join you in a similar crazy project. Front

I have both Mata Nui's. Do you realise that the weapons the titan holds, are way to big for a canister sized set ?
-
Do you know: brickset dot com bricklink dot com ? The first site will give you a list of sets (browse bionicle, chose year) The second can give you the part list of a set, so you can see exactly what pieces should be together (enter set number as catalog item in search) I hope your soon will enjoy them. I suggest you don't give them all to him at once. Front

They are on my desk. But I will recycle them, and only keep one at work if the designers need one for a future look back at history. Sorry, but that's how it is.

p-squiddy is outstanding. My vote reflects that. I don't care if we all are victims of a criminal.

Lego 8258 Crane Truck
Front replied to TechnicJuan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If the rack is offset 0.2 modules (stud distance), and the height of the steering parallelogram is 2 modules, the angle is: angle = arcsin (0.2/2) = 5.74 arcsin also often written as sin -1. A function that returns an angle. -
REVIEW: 8265 Wheel Loader
Front replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I hate to buy Lego at full price, but some Technic sets trigger me to lay down cash as soon as the set is available. Will have to check the store early in the morning. I have to see if I still can get the Combined Harvester (8274) too, I had to give mine away to a friend last week, after we built it together. Don't bring your sets to your friends house, if you want to keep it -

I would like to see a different kind of review of the set, in a few weeks time. Please consider that, and I'll let it up to you, what different means :-) -
I did not notice which accent he has, but his voice is so nice and deep, very mean. Which seems to fit the character we see fighting against Ackar.
-
Yes, the fit on that one is fine, a thing we try and make as good as possible, especially when the head gear is very tall, like Nute's. Nute's hat was made in red prototypes :-) Several colours are nice, but don't expect a hat like that to come in different colours, it's probably to be used in SW only. I just tried several Rebel Helmets on a head, they seem tight, but I could not get any to pop up again, or creep slowly upwards. But you guys don't seem to be that fortunate, having helmets that don't fit perfect. Front
-
Head gear pieces are always "eight-sided" and not round, on the inner diameter that fits over the stud on the minifigure head. To me it sounds like the head pieces fit too tight over the stud, making them pop up again, when forced down. A lose fit would not make anything pop up again, but would only make the head gear lose and too easy to take of the head (or fall off when minifigure is turned up side down). Front

I could hardly think so. Suspicious may occur (I think) if someone tries and request something that could hardly be missing in a set, like some SW torso, head etc. that is expensive on bricklink). No need to be afraid of them being suspicious. If you are honest and friendly, I'm sure they will never have any doubts. I've never had hands break though, but obviously you have. I've tried once complaining about breaking ball cups, and I recieved replacements, some extra too, although some of them were wrong (lol). I suggest you just try and make the contact again through lego-dot-com, and tell what parts had failures, from which sets, which colours, etc. (btw. check the inventory in the building instructions, here you'll see the part number). I guess there are several things that could go wrong, that results in you not getting the replacement, like customer service being busy, not actually getting the parts sent, or that they the parts just did not get to your address. You are a long way from Billund in Denmark. If you do it again, I think you can write comments. Just write you don't think you ever recieved those from your previous replacement request.
-
Please remember to contact costumer service, and ask for replacements of ball joints. I've had some in new sets break too
-
I like the set after having built it myself. The issues with the legs: Yes they can only rotate upwards one click. A bit disappointing. Rotating downwards, you don't actually break anything, but you will bend the cross axle and "cylinder", until they dis-engage from each other. Not the best design, but I think you can do that 1000 times without breaking anything.

LEGO Pirates Tic Tac Toe - includes 10 minifigures!
Front replied to The Cobra's topic in LEGO Pirates
Compared to the "skeleton-knight" Tic-Tac (and all other similar I know of), it's nice to see this new one with not just two different minifigures. That may also have increased the price a bit. -
Technic Exotic Supercar
Front replied to TechnicJuan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I really like a car like this. I don't care if a model got holes or whatever it has, for me Technic is about building structures and mechanisms in three dimensions. To me studless building is real Technic, and studded building is way too much like building with System bricks. One brick on top of another. -
Much bigger, but that one is just basic plastic. The wheels (tire) on this set are rubber, like on technic sets. I'm pretty sure the rear wheel is the same that was used in the 2008 Exo-Force tank. I'm not sure which Technic sets use this tire, but surely some must do, maybe the 4wd off-roader of 2008.

I my, I love that pool table, thank you so much for showing the instructions. I don't think I have a brain to see through a model, figuring out how it was done. Great work, the arcade machine is nice too. Front

Thank you for a nice review. This is a set I haven't built, but it is one of the best looking of the 2009 vehicles in my opinion, only second to Skopio. It is disapointing though that it's hard to make a turn with it, while rolling it on the ground. But I have to say, I did not even know you could seperate the two halfes of the vehicles, making two fine single track stand-alone vehicles. Front
-
A nice review you've put together, thank you. I've had the chance to build it too, as we needed some sets for an exhibition in our cantina, showing off the new summer-sets and promoting the movie. Though I don't have the set anymore. Built Skopio too for the same reason, a bigger but also more tedious build, with four exactly similar legs. I enjoyed building this set, just as you described you did too. And I've done all the big and recent technic sets. So I really think the build is fine. The vehicle is big too, a bit skinny, but really bigger than I thought it would be when I started out. I like the colours of the set, but would like the driver having matching colours. And yes, I forewarded the discussions here on EB about poor drivers, to the design managers of Bionicle. Personally I'm fine with a simple driver build, as long as the driver could be in a more matching colour scheme, in relation to the vehicles. Front

366 pieces A lot are simple technic connectors, but to give some examples there are: 21- yellow ball cups (old Bionicle hand) 23- 3-module cross axles 10- black balls with cross hole all the way through Front
