  1. Very nice Dragster Hopey. I've been working on one myself but never thought to put 6 M motors in it your mad as but I like it. Mine Below Bigger Photo The biggest problem I found was the weight of the battery boxes tends to drop the middle of the car but with a bit more support I got it right. I'm still working on mine and hope to post it on here shortly. But yours will win the quarter mile (if the batteries last!) hands down. Brendan
  2. Never mind, Kmart missed out on my $$$ Toyland (correct spelling not Toyworld) at Robina has 20% all Lego I think for the month. Limited stock but I managed to grab a Creator 7347 which I missed during the mid year sales. Nice truck looking forward to building it.
  3. Bugger, heading to Kmart today but the sale starts tomorrow. Hate living in the country sometimes nearest Kmart is 200km away. Those Creator sets would of been great.
  4. OMG that is awesome. Now on my to do list 'An amphibious Motorhome!'
  5. Very nice Mods rm8. Won't it be great when TLG start making tyres like those. Did you have to glue them on?
  6. My ignorance didn't even realised there was a B model for this set. Looks pretty good and BIG. Thanks for posting it DLuders. Now I really can't wait till this set hits the Aussie SALE market. Bring on the Xmas Sales!
  7. I suppose a dozen sealed air tanks might do the trick! Photo shopped pic surely?
  8. updating our website

  9. Very nice crane and truck. How you can fit so many features into such a scale is beyond me Looking forward to some video/s. Brendan
  10. I've been using these due to there size and weight difference over the standard PF battery packs. Just a thought! Looking forward to more pictures.
  11. Looks good and the scale looks spot on, but the photo's don't do it any justice. Would be a great mini RC if you could fit them in. Brendan
  12. 35yo here and having a 7yo son is a MAJOR help. Our family is supportive and continue buying my son Lego for presents and I've even convinced my wife to buy ME some for Xmas. I think eyebrows might be raised if I requested Lego off my in-laws or parents though. Those who say 'to much time on your hands' probably sit in front of the TV watching the football having a beer. I'd rather sit with my son talk about his day at school and build something. Brendan
  13. Thanks for all the replies. @Alasdair Ryan I think it had a clutch gear but it just wasn't well supported so hence the gears slipping. I must of built that slide out systems 15 times before it worked properly. In hindsight I should of used a linear actuator but I didn't have any at the time. @rm8 More planned for the mechanics. Which I enjoyed trialing each and every gear and axle combination. I basically ran out of large Technic parts to cover the walls. I was going to pinch my sons 'City" studded pieces to cover them but I moved onto another project and unfortunately the motorhome had to be recycled. Brendan
  14. Very nice crane SFRIP. I'm amazed you could fit all that detail and features into it. I have the same designer weakness but it just gives me thinking time. It took me a while to workout the outriggers but when I realised they where hidden I thought Wow great idea. Brendan
  15. $80 bucks damn good buy at that price. I just can't bring myself to pay $300 on a set when there is so many Technic sets I don't own.
  16. Hi All This is my first attempt at a MOC. Not quite up to scratch with some of the other marvelous MOCS on here but I think it turned out ok. It had a few manual features including lowering tailgate and lifting side door on the trailer. The slideout on the Motorhome was fitted with power functions M motor and remote which worked ok but not so good when my 7 yo would go full tilt on the remote and gears would skip. Steering was manual and worked pretty good. Also featured 4 pneumatic cylinders for suspension which where linked to a tank and hand pump. Plus small pneumatic on the door opener/closer. Mainly used parts from my Unimog 8110 and Supercar 8070. Just the front wheels and remote where from other models. Website with more photos. Thanks for looking Brendan
  17. Very nice Crawler Hopey and VERY inspiring for me to have a go at one. Considering the parts you had I think it looks great yellow. Brendan
  18. Really nice Ute well done! I hope I never require lime green piece for a MOC cause I think you must have them all. A HSV Maloo would look great beside the XR8
  19. Hi the receiver has a number underneath it '41K1' but as for a batch number No there is only a small barcode on the plastic seals. I double checked tonight and both receivers have the same numbers and both don't click and hold tightly to any battery packs. Brendan Thanks, I'm tending to agree with you especially after looking at the parts in more detail and noticing the fine writing under most of the parts.
  20. Interesting you mention that website G.I because I had originally put that website in my post but thought It would be better not to mention it. The box the 8043 came in had that website all over the box. Maybe it is just a 'bad' set or rather just a few 'bad pieces' because everything else works the way it should. Which is why I asked if there is any counterfeit sets going around. I've always found Lego to be 100% perfect, never had a missing piece, and parts always work the first time. My 8043 set however has a few little issues which is why I raised the question. I certainly hope this isn't the case. Sorry, as you can see below there is a bit of maintenance going on at the moment with the 8043. Will put it back together once I've finished using the parts for my latest project.
  21. Hi all, I raise this question after my latest purchase of a excavator 8043. I purchased this through Ebay and I thought it was coming from my local state (New South Wales, Australia) but when it arrived it was came from Europe. This didn't worry me as it arrived quite quickly and undamaged. But during the build I noticed the connectors just didn't seem to pop in as usual. Then when I got to the remote receivers I noticed they don't pop onto the battery pack at all. They pop onto each other fine but not a battery pack (I've tried a few different ones and same problem) Also the back cover plate continually pops off too. Which is why I have my suspicions that this might be counterfeit as every other technic set I own (which have came from department stores) all work perfectly. It looks like it's official Lego product but I just cant help but wonder. Is there any way of telling? Brendan
  22. Gday Nickylarson13 Newby here too! Looking forward to seeing your creations. Brendan
  23. Should be easy, not much to them really. A couple of bottles, a blow torch, a few tangled up hoses, a trolley, a pressure gauge or 2. Ok so maybe there is bit more to them as I first thought! Good luck looking forward to seeing one.
  24. Thanks again for the welcome/s My main reason for joining this forum is it's busy with something new everyday (unlike the Australian forums, sad but we just don't have the population I guess.). As a bonus there seems to be plenty of Australians around which should help finding a few local bargains, shows etc.
  25. Excellent Ute with great detail. Like the electric eel too. Has he go an Oxy kit? (my neighbours a plumber and his is always on the back) I've always liked the 'Snap On Tools' trucks. But I guess you've done of them?
