  1. Beautiful.... I dont know what else to say really except that if this was an official set i would buy it instantly! I searched for it on CUUSOO but no luck and your link does not work, I want to vote for it!! You have inspired me to keep working on my Technic MOC
  2. I've been anticipating this set sine the first leaked pics etc Hope to have it by the time my holidays start so i can build it nice and slowly. Great review!!!
  3. Great topic! A couple of weeks ago i would have said for the models but i recently destroyed the trailer from 8049 tractor with log loader to use the power and pneumatic parts for a MOC im working on and when i laid out all the parts for 9396 Helicopter (yes i'm one of those organised builders) i thought "not a bad selection of parts there"...... sooooo 90% for the model but changing as i get into the hobby.
  4. Nice bike!!! I think you have captured the style very well and the headlights are very clever I'm still working up the courage to post my bike MOC's
  5. I built mine on the weekend and haven't stopped playing with it, the aftermarket tyres are definitely the way to go. Its certainly a good model to modify and try different things with, a real technic learning set i reckon TechnicNoob, I'm an Aussie also, Bricklink is my friend LOL
  6. Im looking forward to the Haunted House 10228 coming out, anyone heard what chain will be carrying it? I prefer to pick it up from a store and avoid the outrageous S@H shipping costs...... Cheers Ben
  7. S@H is showing 9398 crawler at $289 although "not available in this country" i wonder if it will stay at that price when they finally release it.......
  8. Man those two face tyres look HUGE!! i ordered a set and i dont even know when the crawler is being released in Australia..... Thats it, no more waiting for the set to reach OZ. I'm heading to bricklink LOL
  9. Lego online store has 10215 Star Wars Obi Wans Jedi Starfighter at half price - $87.49 (plus shipping)
  10. I was just in Miranda Big W having a browse and spotted 2 x 10212 Star Wars Imperial Shuttles with a markdown tag on them $348.00 There is one left now......
  11. Top review I will be waiting longer than most to get this one, we are a bit slow here in OZ lol. I love the colour combo and i can picture myself leaving this one out to play with and annoy my wife
  12. I called Big W Miranda tonight and they told me they had 4 SSD in stock. Myself and another guy bought one tonight so i assume they will be all gone pretty quickly.... Me =
  13. I scored a 8386 Technic Ferrari F1 car for $20 on Gumtree on the weekend I called the guy, and told him i would pick it up ASAP, when i got there 1 hour later he said he had 5 calls about it and guys were offering him $50 for it.
  14. I just noticed on the Target website that the sale starts 6pm today and most stores are open till midnight.(online from 6pm too) Catalogue prices on the same sets as their competitors are not as sharp though.
  15. I'm no purist so I think those F1 cars are just awesome! I myself just painted the rear fender on a MOC motorbike i made for my brother. Used sparingly and applied well i think painting add a final touch. Just gotta print up some custom stickers now... (i'm a clueless newbie so that will be fun)
  16. Has anyone had any experience with Big W online shopping? I MUST have a SSD!!
  17. At my local post office i am known as "the LEGO guy" I understand the economies of scale and our remote location on the globe will translate into higher prices for Aussies. Clearly the volumes of Lego coming in from overseas sellers is so small that not enough for TLG to consider it damaging to their business. The way i look at it, as long as there are sellers willing to ship to Australia i will keep giving them my business and when there are some good sales on i will head to the shops.
  18. The last time i checked out a good sale at MYER the pickings were very slim, I might head to Miranda on Tuesday and see if i can pick up something decent
  19. I went on Saturday and again last night for the evening event. There were so many great models of all sorts of themes, big thumbs up to the builders and to the organisers for a great event. I cant believe my wife got randomly chosen to build a little 20 minute MOC with the little red brick box of 50 bricks LOL. She still doesnt know exactly what it was she built, she desctibed it as a multi coloured space plane boat hahaha
  20. I can only remember 1 set that i owned as a kid and thats probably only because i won it at a fun little competition for kids at the Birkenhead Point Lego store in Sydney. It was 6697 Rescue Helicopter My twin brother was so jealous LOL
  21. Hello all, My name's Ben I recently started lurking on EB and thought i would finally sign up and say hi. I have been back into lego for the last 8 months after a 25 year dark age. I fell back in by chance, I was holidaying in Hawaii and went into a lego store in a shopping mall, we dont have Lego stores on Oz, and i saw the VW campervan and bought it on the spot!! Then i went back the next day and bought 8070 Technic supercar. When i got back from Hawaii i built the 2 models and was amazed at how far Lego has progeressed in the last few decades so i started searching the net to see what was happening in the world of Lego, then i discovered Bricklink, oh dear.......... 50+ sets later and a large collection of parts, a few MOC's on the go and i just spent the weekend at the Sydney Brick Show. So i can confidently say i am completely addicted. 90% of my collection is Technic as i enjoy the functionality. I work in retail (no toys) so i dont get as much building time as i would like and i have a very suppotive wife who is happy for me to collect and build, she even came to the brick show with me and enjoyed it too!! Hope my introduction wasn't too long and i hope i can add to the EB community in a positive way. Cheers Ben
