I agree on every single word you said. Small sets look like AquaRaiders leftovers, large sets look like minifig versions of Bionicle vehicles. Figs look good, though.

Who needs Pirates when we can have Power Miners and Atlantis?

That yellow thing could be a stretcher, available in yellow for the first time.

What Italian media say: Renault will fire Briatore, Mosley will be happy, Renault will stay in F1. End of the story.

Sticker abuse is a common problem of most every Ferrari set. The car itself doesn't look different from the ones in 8168 Ferrari Victory, and this makes sense. What does not make sense is the same pricing of the old truck despite a -300 piece count.

With only 1 lap left, he didn't seem to be close enough; yet, Button could have done a mistake being stressed by Hamilton getting closer. Still, a good race to watch, miles away from boredromes like Valencia.

Click to enlarge. Minifigs: Yep, torsos are plain, you have to put stickers on them too. Minifigs: And here they are, now really looking as two Ferrari pilots and a man in suit. But if you look back to set 8672 Ferrari Finish line, you have to admit that Massa's head looks a lot like Barrichello's. Ready for building: So, there are two identical bags, and they're both numbered! (It would have been funnier to have a number different than 1). Ready for building: The large back and small in-bag have been opened, here's what we have. Building an F1 Ferrari: Steps 4 and 6, here's one of the few interesting tecniques in this set: using hinge plates for the front wing. Building an F1 Ferrari: Step 8: snot pieces on the sides and a light in the back. Building an F1 Ferrari: Step 12, the front is nearly complete, so is the cockpit. Building an F1 Ferrari: Step 14, the two-level back wing is there too. Building an F1 Ferrari: Here's how the sides are built. Those side winds have been known as "mini-skirts" in Italy since the early 80's. Building an F1 Ferrari: The upper parts of the cockpit. The rear one has a 1x1 round plate for an easy removal. Building an F1 Ferrari: We're close to the end, and there are two extra pieces. The Ferrari F60 2009: Putting the pieces together and adding tyres, here's our finished model before we add stickers. The Ferrari F60 2009: And here's how the car looks like with stickers. The Ferrari F60 2009: but what does the real one look like? The Ferrari F60 2009: Kimi gets in the cockpit, ready to start the engine. Ferrari Victory: Both cars, plus leftovers Ferrari Victory: Side views. Ferrari Victory: The complete set, flagman included. Review: Well, we finally have a small Ferrari set with two cars. If you look at the theme, you can see this only happened in the big Finish line; otherwise, set consists in a car with its pilot and some pit crew and accessories. This is something different, with the flag-man and his small but long stand, and the Kimi's and Felipe's F1 speeders: it was eye-catching since preliminary pics surfaced one year ago. Flag-man can't be the most awaited figure ever, but his addition makes more sense than a random mechanic's. For such a price, this licensed set is a good one. For a comparison, this set has the same price of 7635 4WD w/horse trailer or Agents 8632 and 8968 or that new ugly King's battle chariot. The detailing on the cars can be appreciated on the front and rear wings and on the sides (funny how they unSNOTted the SNOT with those cheese pieces). Just by looking at the main pic you know there will be lots of stickers, at least they lie on single pieces; too bad this pieces are no the kind you can just turn 180° and use on the plain side if you want too. The problem is the three torsos are stickered too, and that's a big minus. I guess it all started out on the earlier sets, with pilots and pit crew having different torsos; stickers were a money-saving shortcut. But some will remember Telekom sets; all torsos were stickered too. Mixing classic yellow head with Licensed fleshie heads isn't a premiere either, see 8672 Finish line again. But it's hard to understand why has the flag-man's torsos to be plain and stickered too. As if Lego was short on ties... More stickers on the flags; the more you think about stickers, the lessers you like them. Building is easy, yet repetitive since there is no difference between the two cars, but that's how it should be (and sometimes isn't in real F1!) Rating: Color scheme: 5/5. Based on the real-life model, it can't get any better! Minifigs and accessories: 3/5. 2 points lost for having printed torsos, a Kimi face looking as if he was high and mixing fleshie and yellow heads. Pieces: 4/5. This set is not what you're looking for to use in your MOC, but all pieces make sense in the set as it is. Playability: 4,5/5. Not really much to do with the flag man, but two cars will grant kids hours of fun Design: 4,5/5. See playability. Cars look great compared to the real life F60. Overall rating: 4/5. A really good set, it would nice to have some other F1 teams too. The final words: Over the last few years, the only F1 Lego License has been Ferrari. There must be a reason.

MAJOR reasons why Pirates WILL return in 2010!
The Cobra replied to Imperial Governer's topic in LEGO Pirates
Aqua Raiders was an exception, or maybe just a splash-theme until they came up with something else. That's one really interesting point. I don't think they are going to fool us. And I suggest everyone to read this interview, one of the last paragraphs tells about the times of designing and releasing. In August 2007 they already had everything set up for the 2008 Castle line, so if there are going to be 2010 Pirates sets (and I believe they are), they have already been designed and TLC is gathering ideas for 2011. -
MAJOR reasons why Pirates WILL return in 2010!
The Cobra replied to Imperial Governer's topic in LEGO Pirates
We have that in Italy too! Back on topic: 1) So far we only know what set will come out in the first half of 2010, so there's no reason why Pirates shouldn't come out in the second half. As I already said on the big Castle topic, Castle 2008 come out in the second half too. 2) This theme seems to be good-selling and a bit AFOL oriented, and there's even fewer Castle self-competition since only 3 sets came out in 2009. 3) Basically, it would be another STUPID choice for Lego to already cut the Pirates line. But that's all imho. -
Database: 2005: EB Topic - BS gallery 2006: EB Topic - BS gallery 2007: EB Topic - BS gallery 2008: EB Topic - BS gallery 2009: EB Topic - BS gallery My Opinions: 2005: PROs: Street Worker has great tools. Chef has a REAL pizza! Good minifig selections, great pieces. CONs: that lame level crossing thing, only one dog for Santa's sled (maybe he could borrow the Policeman's dog). A great "start". 2006: PROs: Street Worker has great tools again, Doc minifig, Street cleaner's torso and tools, public phone booth (no cell phones in Leco City!), fireman's water blade, Santa's chimney. CONs: that lame level crossing thing again. 2007: PROs: I own one of these, dock's worker minifig, some good accessories to the train man, Christmas tree CONs: that undersized radar thing. 2008: PROs: I own one of these, female minifigs, 10 total minifigs, Ice cream, handcuffs for the thief, motorsled (or whatever it's called). CONs: No Pizza but a made-up eatable. 2009: PROs: I own one of these, Santa is back, a lumberjack (!), a kid minifig (making 9 total minifigs), fountain, streetlight w/Xmas decoration. CONs: We already saw 90% of this throughout the years, and some were better (snowman faceoff anyone?) Therefore, my list goes like this: 1) 2006 2) 2007-2008 tied 4) 2005 5) 2009

Actually, in 2009 it's 20 Euros and 30 USD. As for best and worst, I'm planning to start a separate topic to talk about it.
-
I don't think I'm jealous, I think I'm realistic. I second every single word that Fluyt wrote and kindly suggest people to read this topic I started about one year ago when I stupidely believe that having the Advent calendars on the Italian catalog would have meant having the Advent calendars in Italian shops.
-
I read it and I now think that the 2009's is the worst Advent Calendar since they have been including figures. Edit: just to remember how the previous AC looked like: 2005 - 2006 - 2007 - 2008

Peeron has some sticker pics, like this one.

Last week I opened a few December 2008 Daily Mirror promo sets, and wheels were sticky too. I'm not sure about my 4WD w/ht, but its wheeels were probably greasy too.

I suggest you all to not wait for too long to buy these sets, because if sellings go anything like the last two years, some sets will disappear within Christmas time and never come back.

The different prices on LEGO in the US vs. Europe
The Cobra replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I hope this makes a bit sense. I tried a price comparison picking 10 Playmobil kits. USA prices are official form their online shop. UK and DE (and other Euro countries) prices are only available by registering, so I went on eBay and picked lowest and highest for new and buy it now in .co.uk and .de, no S/H included. Then I added lowest to highest, divided the total by 2 and converted it to US$. Rates have been taken from the official ebay currency converter. -
I can't rate it perfect because of the minifig and the "flat front", so I voted "above average". Great review!
-
I haven't registered on the forum he writes in, which is obviously public so everyone can read. Still, I think that now that Lego has sent to retailers their cataloge, someone will soon do what he shouldn't, and that's scan and upload pictures.

I agree with Sandy, let's not forget that we're only talking about the first half of 2010. Castle (Fantasy era) had it's second (and third) wave coming out in the second half of the year. The first half of Lego 2010 also includes SW, Technic, Creator, Racers and Toy Story and 4 Power Miners sets, which I didn't mention because we all know. The Fire brigade and the Carousel will also be available in selected shops (that has happened in 2008 and 2009 in Italy for the Caf

Yes it is. 2008 price (for Italy and most of Europe) was 17 Euros, now 20.
-
That happened to me once too. Check the links, you may just have left un unwanted or something like that.

I am a collector. I remember hours and hours and hours of fun, MOCing when I didn't even know what MOC could be, putting City, Castle and Space bricks together building a stage for a rock band, or just using the minifigs for two soccer teams, and so on. Now it would be odd to play, and I surely lost some fantasy. I remember buying the 7942 Fire pick-up, opening the bos andthinking: Before I build the real one, I want to try something else, look at all those pieces that didn't exist when I was young. after ten minutes of nothing, I just opened the instructions book and started building. I don't have a layout but a shelf (see my signatuere), and that's where my LEGO is displayed after building.

No pics yet, but an Italian user has written that he saw them, and: - sets number 3### are City and NOT Duplo. - Ben Ten sets look a lot like Bionicle. - Boardgames will be available in Italy too (that makes me think that they will spread around in Europe) - No new Space Police Sets so far. - Atlantis: sort of underwater Power miners. - No Castle of Pirate sets, but that's no surprise.
