  1. Sorry, gents, I REALLY didn't think that was a spoiler.
  2. And that's annoying. The best use for this face was 7009 The Final joust (face could be hidden by helmet's visor). Below is a spoiler so highlight at your own peril!
  3. I have yet to build my copy of this set; as for now, I rate it Average. Good selection of animals and "buildings", but the minifig choice could have been better. Why is there no Admiral? Why is that silly (soldier) face in here again? Why do many of these figs (if not all) look exactly like some figs from "ordinary" sets.
  4. Maybe it's just a matter of time; Boardgames will be available in countries other than U.K. or Germany in 2010.
  5. I hope these surprise bags will hit Italy too. If that will be the case (and I fear this is a HUGE if), I'd really love to own: 1 - Cavaman; 2 - Cheerleader; 7 - Native American; 8 - Magician; 9 - Ninja; 10 - Nurse; 11 - Robin Hood; 15 - Wrestler
  6. A couple of notes from an Italian online shop: - TLC stated that new (year's) items can not be available for preorder except for the last month before regular availability, nor pictures can be shown before that time. - All items will be available until supplies last. Lego stopped productions in June, new supplies will arrive in January.
  7. There once was a woman in a fire station too.
  8. Brickshelf might have been gone forever (there's a topic here), the Dutch site has been off for a while now "Due to trafic problems", so you should rely on Peeron scans or the official Lego website (Customer service, building instructions).
  9. And Legomilk is one of the most realiable people in here. (And Agents suck, so I'm not sorry at all).
  10. That makes two of us.
  11. Here's my lame entry: As awful as it is, it carries a deep meaning. Everyone got something for Christmas, and is happy with it. Someone got deadly self-defense weapons, someone got a chest with gold and diamonds, or just something good to eat and drink. Everyone except for the guy with the idiotic face. All he got was an oar, as a warning for another year of his silly job. (Deeper meaning: if there's someone I don't like all year long, I'm not going to like him/her on Xmas day either).
  12. I'm happy Castle is coming back, but I think Impulse selection could have been better. Imho, an Impulse set is something that everyone will buy at least one, and most will buy plenty of. How many wizards and jokers will I buy? 1 each, obviously.
  13. Here in Italy it hasn't been available all-year-long, it surfaced a couple of weeks ago in a "selected toy shop" (priced 45 Euros instead of 40).
  14. I wasn't the winner (yet I would have loved to). It was the original one (link), I thought the price would have gone sky-high.
  15. I'm bumping this topic for one reason: showing box rear (from an auction for a MISB set that ended a few minutes ago: guess the price? Euros) The bottom left corner is priceless!
  16. I can't tell you about local shops, but I can tell you to try looking for shopping malls. Yet, year after year Christmas sales seem be go worster. This year, looking in 6 different chains, there are a total 10/15 sets on sale; mostly large or extralarge, like Farm, Police HQ, Pirate ship, Creator fire truck, City construction site and so on. Unfortunately, no Medieval Market Village. Let me add that every other set is selling for ordinary price (form -10% to +10% compared to S@H) and you are NOT going to find SW or IJ sets because they are selected toy shops exclusives. That's what happens near Como, I can hardly imagine anything being different in Rome. Good luck, I fear you need a lot of it.
  17. I rated it "above average", because I don't know what the European price will be. This is the second best ever set in PM history, to me (the best one being Granite grinder). And thanks for the review!
  18. Did we need another wizard?
  19. 2,50 Euros is quite a lot, given that an ordinary impulse set is priced 3 Euros. I just hope they're not gonna raise prices again. But, caveman and wrestler and so on look really great!
  20. Doctor doctor, please - Oh, the mess I'm in... (U.F.O. - Doctor doctor) Set data: 7267: Paramedic / Promotional set Year: 2005 Theme: City Subtheme: Emergency / Hospital Pieces: 13 (plus 2 extra pieces) Price: N/A (free promo set) Building time: less than 5 minutes MISB on review: Yes More info: Brickset - Peeron - Bricklink Note: "Promotional release with Dr. Oetker's puddings in Czech Republic and also available with kids' meals at LEGOLand Windsor." (source: Brickset) 4936: Doc & Patient / Medic and patient Year: 2007 Theme: City Subtheme: Emergency / Hospital Pieces: 18 (plus 2 extra pieces) Price: 3 US$ * / ?? Euros / ?? UKP (* once available on S@H) Building time: less than 5 minutes MISB on review: Yes More info: Brickset - Peeron - Bricklink Official description: Doctor, doctor! Help the sick patient get well with the LEGO City doctor. Includes 2 minifigures and exam table! Polybags front: while Doc & patient is only suitable for 5 to 12 years old, Paramedic is for ages 5 to infinity. Polybags rear: Different layout, same content. Polybags content: Paramedic comes with his head on his torso, Doc and patient need some more building. Paramedic instructions? Not really, just a double sided promo poster (click pics to enlarge) Doc & patient instructions: with emergency and airport overview on the rear. (click promo poster to enlarge) Minifigs: Paramedic wears gloves (dark grey, like some contructions minifigs'), female doc works bare-handed, patient has a sick face. Complete sets and leftovers: Don't tell me you expected in-build pics! Review: Paramedic was a promo only, Doc and patient was a US S@H exclusive (and maybe a promo too? It's hard to keep up with these details). That explains why the former is so rare and the latter is still around. 7267 is a basic set with a minifig and some tools; the good ol' stretcher that has been around since 1989 (my first and only ambulance set so far) is highlighted with a printed 2x2 tile, which only appeared in an Arctic set before. The oxygen dispenser (or whatever it is) looks a lot like a fire extinguisher in different colors, with the addition of another printed tile, which helps making it look more like a medical thing (I know, real fire extinguishers have something like that too). Briefcase is empty, some might want to put the extra pieces in there and use them to build another medical tool. Face piece is quite common (while rare in flesh color), torso is not so common, totalling 5 sets (including a minifig collection, a Studio set where the MFC crazy doctor was taken from, a Spongebob set and the outstanding Coast watch HQ). 4936 is a really cheap set, with two minifigs, and one of the two is female. That would nearly be enough to rate this set outstanding, but let's look deeper. Nurse (sorry, I have to admit I always thought of her as a nurse before reading the official set name) has really ordinary hair and a quite common face (common amongs the not so common female figs). Torso appears in 5 sets only. Patient has a hair piece that I only liked in the Alpha Team sets (and has been abused in horrific colors in recent Agents sets), and a face that is so ugly that 11 ever is way too much. His blue plaid shirt is far from rare. Set also includes a bed with a tile as pillow and a panel as a footer(?), with a cup and a stand with intravenous drip (or whatever your imagination tells you that trans green round brick is). Both these sets could have been good sellers and fall in the "Why, TLC, why?" category because of their rarity. While we wait for a decent hospital (last one looked horrific to me, but you might want to read this article by TheBrickster to find out more), why not grab at least one of these to treat your Lego town patients? Rating: Color scheme: 7267: 4/5. I'm not totally enthusiast of the man's black legs. 4936: 5/5. A lot of colors for such a few pieces, but well used. Minifigs and accessories: 7267: 5/5. Full hands, and a strecher too! 4936: 5/5. A cheap set with two minifigs, and one of the two is a female! Did you read it? A female! Pieces: 7267: 4,5/5. A small set that comes a piece short. The "thing that looks like an odd-colored fire extinguisher with a dial patterned tile"is too heavy to stand up on its own, so another plate with horizontal clip would have made it perfect. But a nearly exclusive printed piece is a plus. 4936: 4/5. Nothing unusual or uncommon, but this set is a must-own for the minifigs alone. Playability: 7267: 4/5. Set lacks a patient. 4936: 5/5. Set has it all! Design: 7267: 4/5. A good support set. 4936: 4,5/5. Great as a stand alone, excellent as support. Overall rating: 7267: 4/5. Hardly available + the wrong trousers (Wallace and Gromit anyone?) + one piece short = Not oustanding 4936: 5/5. Hardly available + awful male hairpiece and male face = Who cares! I love it! The final words: They are still available on the net (4936 is more popular than 7267). Are you going to miss them?
  21. C'mon, it's a great vig!. Happy anniversary!
  22. 2010 doesn't look good for TTs. Fold outs look slightly better.
  23. I rate it 4. This is one of the few Atlantis sets I'm going to buy. Still, 7771 Angler ambush had printed eyes and no stickers.
  24. I rated it "below average". I don't like the design at all, and I'm happy Shark-man, trident and those round-magic-things are available in cheaper sets.
  25. Don't worry about quality, pics of new sets are always welcome.
