  1. That would make sense if Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc. are popping up again in this new series. And if the leaked image does correlate with the CMF series after all, then that could see the return of characters like Aladdin, Genie, Alice, Woody, etc. who either appeared in the previous series or in sets.
  2. You're right, I completely forget about them. That's 8 characters who came from shorts rather than movies, almost half the series.
  3. The last Disney series may have had 18 characters but 6 of them weren't even from the movies but from Mickey and Friends with Steamboat Mickey and Minnie (both of whom appeared in the Steamboat Willie set anyway) along with Scrooge McDuck and Donald's nephews. Only 12 slots were actually from the movies. I'll be more annoyed if we get more variants of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc. wasting precious slots when they have their own line now. I still think Sorcerer Mickey will likely show up in a D2C set. I'd like to believe we could get some of the BrickHeadz characters in the new series but there were Beauty and the Beast BrickHeadz years back and we still don't have either of them in minifigure form, so I don't think there'll necessarily be any correlation now. It'll be really shocking if they celebrate 100 years of Disney without anything Snow White related. I'd still like to hope the reason they axed the cottage set is because they already had it planned for the 100 years celebration but considering it seems that Disney vetoed the set and not Lego, that seems doubtful. Very annoying that the dwarfs are being "cancelled" when they're literally the foundation of the animation studio. Lego hasn't made any sets for any of the other live-action remakes so I doubt they're waiting to make one for Snow White. These remakes have no longevity anyway when it comes to merchandise. Lion King would be a good choice for its own set featuring Disney-style molds for the animal characters maybe with a Pride Rock structure. Bambi could be a smaller set in the same vein. I'd love to see Pocahontas along with the other characters/movies you mentioned. I'd add The Hunchback of Notre Dame as well.
  4. The flower might be for Daisy since there's a bow for Minnie. I think the bone is more likely for Pluto. Maybe a proper minifigure for him like Chip and Dale, even if they're not supposed to be that size or standing upright. Bones aren't used often to represent the 101 Dalmatians, let alone Cruella De Vil. The wrench is definitely for Oswald because they released a new Oswald short for the first time to celebrate 100 years of Disney. For the Genie's lamp, I'm guessing we'll be getting the Prince Ali version of Aladdin. That's a very popular look for him and in several Disney games they always make sure to include that as an alternate look for him, sometimes even when no other character has a variant. It could also work for Jafar as a Genie or Genie in one of his many transformations. For that matter, Jasmine has several outfits as well which could be portrayed.
  5. The Spider character from the new Avatar sets has a hairpiece that would be perfect for Disney's Tarzan if it came in brown instead of dark blonde.
  6. The outfits Mickey and the gang are getting for the 100th anniversary could work. I know the Tokyo Disney Park regularly gives the characters new outfits to match a certain theme like for their new water show which replaced Fantasmic. And I'd love a bipedal Pluto as well. No reason not to make one when Chip and Dale have full-scale minifigs already. I'm also not sure why they never gave Donald an exclusive Disney Parks minifig like they did with Mickey, Minnie, and Daisy. His parks outfit is different from his clipart/merchandise outfit.
  7. I think a brick-built Maleficent would be best for a Fantasmic set to go with Sorcerer Mickey, especially since there's already that amazing lego Maleficent dragon model in Downtown Disney. And I agree that a Peter Pan themed ship wouldn't work because that was only used in the Disneyland Fantasmic show and that was rebranded a few years ago to Pirates of the Caribbean. I'd much rather see Disney continue their new line of classic sets and one day make the Jolly Roger from the movie. I'd love to see the Mark Twain Riverboat that comes out at the end of Fantasmic with a bunch of Disney characters and hopefully that would be an incentive for Disney to include a lot of minifigs. But going by how both the castle and the train only featured 5 minifigs each, and really only from the Mickey and Friends theme, I don't think they would really include anyone besides the customary Mickey, Minnie, etc.
  8. I've always felt that they were saving Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey for a D2C set. Make him an exclusive figure like Goofy was or like Tinker Bell still is.
  9. Pocahontas is long overdue. She should come with Grandmother Willow as the backdrop of the set and then a canoe. If they won't release her in the Disney Princess line, I'd love to see her in minifigure form with these Disney anniversary sets.
  10. Wow, that new Maleficent minidoll is awful. At least the old one had some semblance of depth by adding a collar but this one doesn't even have that and seems so barebones.
  11. Agreed, we need to get at least one of Walt's princesses if not all three. I still don't understand why they put Maleficent in Series 1 without Aurora (or for that matter, Stitch without Lilo). And frankly not just Snow White, but also all Seven Dwarfs deserve to have minifigs. They're literally the foundation of the Disney company since the dwarfs hold up the main Disney building. That's why I really wanted the cottage because it would have been an easy way to get all the dwarfs plus Snow White and maybe the witch. The dwarfs alone make up more than half of a series now so it's not really feasible to put them all in one wave. We'll be lucky at this point to only get one, probably Dopey. I know they include Pocahontas in some of the Lego Disney Princess books which makes it even stranger that they made up a minidoll for her in print form but never bothered to physically include her in a set. I've heard from people who work at the now defunct Disney Stores that she actually sells quite well with millennials so even if there's never a minidoll of her, they should at least consider making her into a minfig. The Snow White cottage is probably the most iconic Disney building after the Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty castles or the theme park buildings like Epcot or the Haunted Mansion. Maybe It's a Small World and its whole facade. The Beast's castle has never been made into a set outside of the minidoll sets and I think the Little Mermaid and Aladdin palaces are fairly iconic as well. The Main Street Electrical Parade has its anniversary this year so Disney has been making lots of merchandise for it. I'd love to see a Lego version of the parade floats, maybe with a real light-up function. Elliot the dragon as a float would be really fun. And Toontown is something I've long hoped Disney would make in the current Mickey sets. Rather than generic buildings like a fire station, you would think kids would be more interested in actually owning Mickey or Minnie's houses, including Donald's sailboat house, Chip and Dale's treehouse, etc. with a collect them all aspect like with the Hogwarts sets. This would be a great way to branch out and include some other characters like Pete, Ludwig Von Drake, Mickey's nephews, Clarabelle Cow, or Horace Horsecollar. Wasn't the Winnie the Pooh set a big seller? If it was, maybe we'll get more sets like how Friends was popular enough to get another set. Hopefully with some of the other characters like Christopher Robin, Owl, Kanga, and Roo. I'd love to see Owl's treehouse, Rabbit's burrow and garden, and Piglet's house. Not to mention Eeyore's house of sticks.
  12. That makes sense. But Wendy isn't a character Disney has ever marketed much so she doesn't fit the princess demographic the way even Alice or Tinker Bell would. Also as an anniversary Disney set, that presumably will include other sets besides just Up, it seems these sets are aimed at a more general demographic than just young girls.
  13. Has it been confirmed if the Peter Pan Storybook set is minidolls instead of minifigs? I'll be really disappointed if it's minidolls because I wanted a Wendy to join my Peter, Tink, and Hook. It would have been nice to have a whole line of Disney storybook sets for other movies like Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, etc. but I'll have little to no interest if minifigs aren't involved. And I agree with everyone else that $160 seems too low to be the Sleeping Beauty castle. I'd love to see it represented in Lego form though, either as the Disneyland version or the Disneyland Paris version since I think that's the most spectacular castle from all the parks. But the Disneyland one is definitely more iconic, small as it is.
  14. I didn't think about the fact that it would probably be too difficult to implement Quasimodo with his hunchback. Esmeralda could still work as a figure though, especially since most of the Hunchback merchandise tends to be based on her. Agreed, it felt like a waste of space to have almost the exact same character three times over. I'd rather they have saved Huey, Dewey and Louie for the current Mickey Mouse themed sets and give those slots to actual movie characters who won't appear in sets otherwise.
  15. Steven Thompson is an artist who works for Disney. On his Instagram on some fanart he made of Tarzan and Jane, he confirmed that the reason he can't make official Disney products based on Tarzan is because of rights. https://www.instagram.com/p/ChIOD4MJX-8/?hl=en So the Kingdom Hearts thing wasn't just a rumor. They would have brought Tarzan back for future games if not for this copyright issue. This is also why Disney doesn't release any new products for Tarzan anymore. Not T-Shirts, action figures, dolls, costumes, books, etc. let alone video games. Despite its box office success, Tarzan was not a bestseller when it came to merchandise (Hercules was also considered a flop when it came to merchandise on top of the movie underperforming and being their lowest earner). There's a reason why Disney's attempts to franchise their male heroes like Peter Pan, Prince Phillip, Aladdin, Hercules, and Tarzan failed numerous times and why Disney resorted to buying more "male-oriented" franchises like Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel to cater to boys. Disney's original characters from the Tarzan movie, like Terk and Tantor, can still have merchandise though. Disney Infinity included them as characters although only by specifically not referencing that they came from Tarzan. Also speaking of the Edgar Rice Burroughs estate, Disney only rented the rights to John Carter. After the film was a box office disaster, they let the rights revert back to the estate so Disney doesn't have any rights with Tarzan or John Carter. Narnia isn't part of the Edgar Rice Burroughs estate but that's another property which Disney doesn't have the rights to anymore, which is a pity because I would have loved some Narnia minifigs as part of the Disney line.
  16. Disney doesn't have the rights to Tarzan anymore which is why they haven't made any Tarzan merchandise in over a decade. So we're not likely to ever see Tarzan or Jane, not the Disney versions anyway. I think characters from the classics like Snow White, Pinocchio, and Beauty and the Beast are most likely along with some new variations of Mickey, Minnie, etc. Cruella is also a strong contender even if I can't think of any character to pair her with (and with only 12 minifigs per line, they might not even bother with pairs anymore). I'd also like to see Lilo since it always bothered me that they made Stitch without her. I haven't seen many mentions of Cinderella or Aurora but I'd like to see them as well. Also Pocahontas and some characters from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
  17. It's strange that they neglected Hermione and Ron's family. Not to mention adult Draco and Scorpius, the latter of whom would have been a nice addition to go with Albus considering how Cursed Child goes.
  18. Any idea when we'll get to know what the Mickey sets are like? I really hope they branch out to include new characters like Pete, Clarabelle, Horace, or Ludwig Von Drake.
  19. Is the next Disney Parks D2C supposed to come out this year along with the next minifigure series? I thought the schedule was set for every 3 years and it's been 3 years since 2019 when we got the Disney Train and Series 2.
  20. I decided it was better to be safe and just grab it while backorders are still available, rather than wait for an unlikely markdown. Especially since the set is sold out at all my local stores.
  21. You're lucky. I'm still holding out that it'll get marked down for Black Friday like back in 2019 when it was first released. Unlikely though.
  22. Wow, exceptionally done! I love how you've kept the crooked design scheme plus all the bright colors.
  23. I don't think you could make a Seven Dwarfs cottage set and not include all Seven Dwarfs.
  24. Same. I'll lose interest if we get minidolls. The Frozen Castle having minidolls wasn't that bad because at least Elsa and Anna already had minifigures available and Olaf works either way. This is probably the only chance we'll get to see all seven dwarfs in minifigure format though. With the recent news that Lego is going to stop marketing their products with boy/girl labels, I wonder what that means about the continued production of minidolls in general.
  25. That makes sense then. I remember reading another company had the rights for The Office before.
