Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
JeanGreyForever replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I agree that I don't think the Tom Holland Spider-Man will be a draw, particularly so soon after his own solo movie. Another thing to keep in mind is that in the Spider-Man franchise, only two movies made over a billion. Far From Home was the first MCU movie after Endgame and was essentially an epilogue. And NWH which only made the amount of money it did because of Tobey and Andrew. Tom alone is not that big a draw. I also agree that Thor is tainted goods now. Love and Thunder really started the downfall of the MCU and that's why there haven't been any definite plans for Thor 5. I think people are over him now, especially with how overused he's been. Less sure about Star-Lord but I think his popularity correlates with the entire GOTG rather than as a solo hero. Strange isn't currently in Doomsday and Benedict Cumberbatch has said he's only in Secret Wars. But I personally wouldn't be surprised if he does wind up in Doomsday. I'm sure only half the cast has been revealed so far and there's a somewhat credible leak that Cumberbatch will be in the next batch of cast reveals. I don't see how you could do a multiverse movie and not include him. Strange and Spidey are the biggest names left in the MCU who are still alive, so not having at least one of them would be crazy. The FF have been established as coming to the MCU with just one end-credits scene in Thunderbolts. It wouldn't be hard to do the same for some of the other big names like Tobey Maguire or Hugh Jackman, with just a quick intro to pull them into the story. And like you said, we've never even seen Sam's Avengers. There's only one line in Thunderbolts' end-credits scene that mentions them, so they would also need time to be set up and introduced in Doomsday, which wouldn't make them much different from any of the big names coming from different universes in terms of the amount of exposition necessary. And I think audiences wouldn't mind a little exposition to see those big names, rather than having it wasted on polarizing characters like Sam, She-Hulk, Captain Marvel or whoever actually ends up on the main Avengers team. The last line in quotes is something I could see Deadpool saying and due to the nature of his character, he'd also be easy to incorporate. -

The movie's script is still in flux. Rebecca Romijn said there's no finished script and they're shooting as they go. James Gunn also seemed to make a point of noting that he's not starting any movies at DC until there's a finished script. I can see Marvel heavily reducing the screentime of all the recent flop characters (Sam, Thunderbolts, FF) and instead pushing in the moneymakers. Ryan Reynolds has started hinting he's in Doomsday so if Deadpool, Wolverine, Tobey's Spider-Man, Wanda, and Chris Evans as Captain America were being saved for Secret Wars, I can see them showing up here or having bigger roles now. Some rumors I've heard say that Doomsday is being retooled to be a more direct sequel to Endgame, as Chris Evans will have a big part now, with the focus being on Chris and Robert Downey Jr. That could be wishful thinking but based on the MCU's past performances, I can see them shifting to try and tie Secret Wars more directly into Doomsday. -

Thunderbolts will be overdue too, although at this point I can see Doomsday mostly reducing their screentime which may not bear well for their Lego presence. -

Could it be a remake of the Up house but even larger? Not sure if the original is still on shelves or not but I remember it got a lot of promotion and seemed very popular with buyers. I can see it being remade if it's been retired. Long overdue. Ratatouille gets so much merchandise by Disney now so it's ludicrous that we still don't have any Lego representation. The Rataouille set on Lego Ideas always meets the 10K quota but always gets rejected for some reason. There's clearly a huge demand for it. -

I can only think of the Sandman fight you mentioned. Maybe if they incorporated the church or belltower as part of the set, they could include Peter in the symbiote suit along with Venom to showcase the birth of Venom. -

If we can't get a comic version of black suit Spider-Man, I'd hope we could at least get black suit Spider-Man from Raimi's Spider-Man 3. Venom, Sandman, Harry as the New Goblin, and MJ would be wonderful as well if we got a set based on the finale fight scene. -

I feel Wicked will be an exception based on what a box office success it was, which is also why we're getting those minifigure sets a year after. I don't know about the Lego sales but the regular Wicked merchandise was flying off the shelves and sold out. Lego seemed to realize there was a demand for Wicked sets aimed at collectors and older fans rather than just children. I don't think they feel the same about Disney necessarily. -

That's probably more likely for Figaro, since Figaro is Minnie's pet in the classic Mickey shorts. Marie has never had anything to do with Minnie or Daisy so I wouldn't expect her in a Mickey & Friends set. SShe's more likely to appear in something like the Disney Celebration Train which featured characters from different franchises. -

There are still characters we haven't gotten from Endgame, such as Clint's Ronin, and it's been 6 years since that movie came out. No offense but anyone thinking Doomsday will cover what's probably a 40-50 character cast is deluding themself. Lego has less and less faith in the MCU with each new passing movie. With Endgame, they could repeat lots of characters who've already appeared in other sets, but most of this cast don't even have existing minifigures to reuse. Lego's been using TDW Thor for all the Lego sets with him, even though it doesn't match his look in many of those movies the sets are depicting. And more than likely, much of Doomsday's cast will end up in small roles or cameos. It's also a movie that doesn't have a completed script and is still being written as it films. What sets we do end up getting might not even match up with the actual movie, particularly when it comes to certain characters being downplayed or being kept as surprises. -

They seem to really be making a point of showing off Nightcrawler. This is the second Lego depiction we've seen of him now, and that paired with the rumor that he'll come in a set next year, makes me think it might be a comic version after all. Unfortunately I have zero faith in seeing any of the new villains depicted on the poster. -

Since we have minifigure-scale versions of Simba and Patch, I wonder if this means we could get one for Marie as well in a future set. -

Yup, this is me too. I never knew the Mad Hatter even existed until I played the Lego Batman games. -

If it is a hint, hopefully that means he's coming in a comic set rather than a Doomsday set so we can get his classic version. -

This Arkham feels so small, particularly in terms of height. It lacks the imposing stature I would expect. It feels like it was shrunk in the wash, along with the X-Mansion. Both sets really need a third level. -
Another minifigure set with the characters in their new looks from the sequel has been leaked. Also three minidoll sets. Lego seems to have really recognized that there's a market for minifigures when it comes to Wicked. I'm really glad they made the effort in catering to collectors here, although my wallet is not so sympathetic.

The WALL-E set has just been leaked. Features WALL-E, EVE, and M-O. I love that it comes with the plant boot. I don't normally buy the large character models but I think I'll make an exception for this because all three characters look spectacular. Hoping one day we can get minifigure scale versions of them though. That would be neat, to get Simba, Mufasa, and/or Scar. -

It's in the Mark Stafford AMA. When asked about including Punisher, he had this to say. "There are always challenges including more adult characters. We work closely with Marvel to stay appropriate to both our brands." He also mentioned that Blade, in contrast to Daredevil and Punisher, was not a character they had discussions about fighting to include. That his movies came out so long ago that he's not grouped as one of the "mature, rated-R" characters like the other two are. Which I guess means Blade is the most likely to pop up in another set, if there are no restrictions on him. For X-Men '97, apparently Marvel had a strict rule that Deadpool could not appear. I have no idea if that's because they didn't want his mature brand to taint a family friendly show, or if there were other reasons to keep him out, but that's a possibility. It's also why I said it was ludicrous that some people were expecting Deadpool to be included in the X-Mansion set when Marvel won't even let him appear or be mentioned in the show the set is based on. I'm very curious if this means Lego would exclude him when they make sets for Doomsday or Secret Wars or whatever movie Deadpool's set to appear in next. -

Even with the comic minifigures we got for Daredevil and Punisher, the Daily Bugle set designers said they were only able to get away with adding them in that set. Essentially sneaking them in. They wouldn't be allowed in the regular playline sets, which is why neither of them have showed up ever since. I think the same was true for Blade. -

The only surprising thing about a Venomized Wolverine is that it's taken us this long to get him. I really wish they would throw in Nightcrawler in a random Spider-Man set. He did briefly take on the Spider-Man mantle so there's some connection. -

Not to mention the way they skipped out on the new Superman movie and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny a few years back. And their MCU sets have started to dwindle in number as well, due to a lack of faith in those movies doing well enough to sustain more sets. The HP theme is too popular for them to sabotage if the show doesn't take off as expected. FB is the perfect example because those movies weren't successful enough to warrant continuing more sets, which is why the third movie didn't get anything. -

Count me in with everyone else saying it's a real shame Lego dropped the ball on any Superman sets. I haven't bought any DC sets in a decade but I probably would have picked up the Superman sets after having just seen the movie. -

I think they'd just draw the sleeves on her arms, sorta like Snow White's poofy sleeves, Cinderella's sleeves, and even Wolverine's shoulder pads. And like you said, a shoulder pad piece wouldn't work with long hair, which is the case for Jean Grey and Storm unless you use the ponytail and mohawk hair pieces for them. -

Same, I plan on integrating my CMF Wizard of Oz minifigures with the Wicked minifigs. But I do hope we can get the classic MGM Glinda as a minifig one day. Not to mention the Munchkins, Wizard, and an updated Wicked Witch. I picked up the anniversary Toy Story set. The train is compatible with the Disney celebration train (parade floats) from a few years back so I took Woody's parade float from that and added it to this new Toy Story train. Kinda wish we were getting more Toy Story sets, like maybe the claw machine. I guess we'll have to wait for Toy Story 5 next year.
