I used if for about a week, made one and a half ships... took along time to make the first as i was working out the program... The main problem i faced with the program is the lack of a hull piece, and lack of colour choice whith the upside down slanted pieces, (found in roof section)... also it takes SO LONG to build, or at least it did for me... heres a picture of my LDD MOC of a ship...

It takes a master to use so few bricks and achieve such an emotional responce. Well done and thanks for sharing!

Enlighten Brick Boats Review
Admiral Blockbeard replied to Admiral Blockbeard's topic in LEGO Pirates
The yellow is alot better in real life, these photos show it being dulled but its not its quite close to legos yellow. That said it is a little more 'faded' than lego. Happy to give the review... how did the megablock and best lock compare against lego? -
Here are some further photos as well as Ver.2 Flag... Here is the army that was taken from to create it These are the different types of men...

Well I know this is a Lego fan sight, but I thought most of you would still be interested in seeing the Enlighten version of the bricks attempt at pirates. An obvious attempt at making ships like Lego’s they have actually done a reasonable job in my opinion. That is to say, I have... A) Not died of lead poisoning B) Been hunted down and killed by Lego for betraying them C) Not had any bits missing, (I’ve had left overs lol) D) Not had any that would not 'click' together E) Found that it is 99.98% Lego compatible The 0.02 % is due to the fact it is lower quality plastic, and the colour does not match, RED is the worst offender when it comes to colour difference. (BTW being Australian means Colour has a U in it... hope it doesn't put off you Americans too much, im sorry if it does) I am not posting this in a hope to boost enlightens status amongst your ranks, rather consider this a third parties opinion on the war raging between the two brick makers. Personally I will admit bias to Lego, but I will try not to let it get in the way of judgement. Reason for buying enlighten, only excuse I can give is LACK OF LEGO ALTERNATIVE, simple as that. If Lego had a pirates range in the shops I never would have considered even looking at enlighten. As such Lego personnel reading this PLEASE BRING BACK THE PIRATE RANGE! Enlighten is inferior product to Lego however it is cheaper. For example the blue boat bellow in the photos is about US$50 on EBay including postage, the Yellow boat about $60, and the BSB red rip off (cough excuse me) $75 compare this to prices of Lego Ships in the 100’s, to be fair though a deal is the 100 mark not 250+ as some pay. (please note im not talking MISB collecting, just complete set) Well with no further Ramblings here are the pics. On a side note if you wish to see a quality comparison on Mini Figs here... The real lego are on the bottom at either side. Hope you find this useful. Geo

Post your Building Rituals...
Admiral Blockbeard replied to Aloysius's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When I was younger, it was anywhere and every where!, I used to tip my buckets out on a sheet and go for gold! So many bricks got lost out the backyard cause I used to play pirates by burring treasure and the lawn was water and soil islands, ahh those where the days... Now im very scarily like you, I sit down on an nice leather couch in front of the TV and watch POTC or anything Angelina Jolie, I will often even turn my mobile off, not wanting to be disturbed... I recently broke up with my girlfriend of 2 and 1/2 years, she was understanding of my obsession but I think it may have had a part to play in it... However, when ever she would complain about it to her Girlfriends all she ever got from them was "OHH I LOVE Lego..." lol it annoyed her, I can see why, but Lego is almost a religious obsession with me. Setting. Comfortable, lots of room and places to rest things. Workspace. Same as yours but with 3 small tables Food. Im diabetic type 2, so pizza as much as i allow myself, Subway, pizza subs is the go for now... However im also the popcorn man Music, same, i need visual stimuli not music Movies. POTC and Angie films, DOA, Charlies angels and soon i will watch all ALIAS again After comes a sense of achievement, never beat that feeling... and I can relate, im only 19 atm soon 20 so alot of my friends are 'thats childish' others are 'thats sooo cool, but dont tell anyone' there is this weird stigma that Lego is childish or NERDY, DUPLO is childish LEGO is not, Lego is something I think oldies should get into, might stop the old arthritis coming in as well as old-timers... I would be very interested in a study of that actually, Lego users always seam to be more intelligent, might have something to do with development of the brain... AS for Lego being nerdy nah, Lego users are the best! ps sorry for getting of topic... Great Post Geo -
USS Constitution: a work in progress
Admiral Blockbeard replied to Capn Frank's topic in Pirate MOCs
WOW, 8- eyes pop out of head! this ship is already amazing and its not even finished! I cant wait to log on tomorrow and see these updates! its so good i almost feel inclined to pay you for just seeing it! Seriously WOW... i am in actual shock, how much do you estimate this will end up costing you? No cost is to great for a piece of art like this! I love lego, just love it... seeing this just confirms it! -
I would say your the expert on placement my guess is vig, im quite surprized you find it worthy of the Index, some of the MOC's in there are WOW, i wish i could buy them...

I quite literally remember drooling over the bsb as a kid, i faintly remember rumor that it floats! Are catelogs realy worth that much!! i have about five lying round all australian though, Jan-July 2002, 1988, (it has the black dragon castle in it, drooled over that one too), 1992 catelog and Jan-Jun 2001, all are in very used condition, some have writing on them but all the pages are still there...

Duke, Thanks for the comment, i actually did this with never experiancing a gun salute, it was only done from memory of movies and the alike. Having more information on it, thanks to you, im considering making a second version! One where if they did the salute would not result in the crowd needing to be buried. lol... also as i made it i did not like the fact the cannons where facing the cross and the COMMANDERS HEAD!!! Asuka and LuxorV Thanks for the nice comments, as for 'moving flame' im not sure ??? if your talking about the flag as part of the flag or the fire at the end of where the coffin is to go... Q.M.Robert lol i am thinking i will bricklink a nice lot of lego muskets, they are much nicer. As for the flag, suggestion heard! i felt the same way but could not search for the pieces much longer... i am sure i dont have any white flags, however i have more red... hmm, runs off now to find them, will post a picture of the improvement. Wow you and i think alike i thought the cross was 'short' and 'stocky looking' aswell, will post the improved version up later with a photo of the intire army.

Well, i started at about 7:30 and finished the building at about 9:30 (most of the time was spent looking for bits SIGH) It is my first ever attempt at a moc for this forum, and the first i have taken photos of lego... in short im noob, the picture quality is noob and i only just learned, thanks to Phes great tutorial how to resize photos AND first time uploading photos to bricklink! *sweet* So all comments welcomed... Lets get started... This is the over all view, yes blue background is not suggested, but i couldnt find white and there really is not that much blue in this moc so hey... *sad* Explaination Firstly, most of the mini figs are not real lego, but will do until i find cheap real ones (this is why they have silver cutlasses (are you jealous?)), i have decided my army is from Denmark after learning i have heratige there from 1850's (i am from South Australia) this is why the flags are Denmarks... see photo bellow... also the coffin is drapped in the flag. This MOC also has a five gun salute with ?generals? stading at either end (grey lego cutless), 4 Cannons for a good look, as is the three masts and ship wheel (behind the commander). In another section we have the drums and drummers (the only 2 blue shirts i have AND only 2 shakos :'-( ) There is also 6 'spanish' imperials, these are basically going to be my masters of the ships. Also you will notice flames and chains, flames are there cause i like em, but the chains are sposed to represent the lowering aperatis in which the coffin will be lowered. heres the rest of the pics... I have made this with the image of it being on a cliff over looking the sea with the masts closest to the edge, a little way away from a fort, it would only serve as a spot to cerimoniously (i invent words) bury the dead. that is to say lower into hole, walk away and then bury dead else where. The plateform you see the drummers on is the edge of the fort. Hope you enjoyed, constructive critisim welcome, HOW ELSE AM I GOING TO LEARN... now of to make myself an Avatar...

Now thats what i call an enterance!!! Welcome aboard, i snuck on recently, stowing away behind some cabins! If ya like me you very quickly get addicted to Eurobricks and people on it! looking forward to all ya got to say! *y*

You could have a thief running off with some newly aquired goods! Seeing as you have a crane you could have the loading of a boat. Could have a small group of pirates trying to sneak past the patrol. Birds pooping on unsuspecting minifig. A funeral service for army-fig... good excuse for a gun salute... actualy i may go make one my self... *runs away to make his first ever moc... *sweet* ohh and here is a pic i was going to use in the creation of a port in denmark, but seeing as your doing it already, im sharing the love http://criticschoicevacations.typepad.com/...yhaven_ro_2.jpg

Argh Zuloo wants the kraken, i want to be no where near that foul beasty. how bout the black pearl, and other ships from POTC Tortuga would be great to see, or what about the islanders made to look like Sparrows captors in the second movie... many an idea, but for me an inn with plenty or rum! imagine the drunken fun you could have your crew having there. in short black pearl + other boats from POTC Tortuga Islander Camp Inn

Admiral Blockbeard replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Aye it be a good read, well done! *y* Love those black curves, make ya blood run warmer than rum! *wub* -
Which Pirate LEGO faction do you support?
Admiral Blockbeard replied to Col. Whipstick's topic in LEGO Pirates
Argh it be obvious whos side i be on. Pirates blood in my veins. However i will always sink a french ship for the fun of it. Red coats are better ta share ya rum with and make fine seadogs when put to it. Seeing as the King spot be taken as well as Pirate lord of the Pacific, i be the Legand pirate of the AsiaPacific... -
Greet'ns warmly felt Mister Phes Aye my fleet not be genuine lego, its not even arrived completely yet. To get a fleet this size in genuine LEGO would cost 5 times as much. For the game these boats do fine. I am try'n me hardest to get the real deals but eBays just not presenting me the treasure. Aye again me hearty, that was the proposed purpose of this thread, The other thread listing was hidden well, It didnt show on me map and im sorry for makin another. May the wind always be in ya sails.

Howdy me Hearties :-) It be Captain Pegleg Blockbeard Here, Captain o' the finest fleet floating in the blue bricks. I be just coming into your ports and like what i see. Hope the way i talk dont get under ya skin, but a pirates life tis for me. Hav'ya heard of a pirate game? its like warhammer if ya know what that is, pretty good fun ta sink others ships. check this page i find out, it may have been talked about already, but i didnt see any signs. http://www.io.com/~sj/PirateGame.html also http://home.wi.rr.com/lego/PWars.html Why dont ya sit and have some rum, and discuss what boats you got out sitting in the harbour. Myself and me crew, have no lego, not as such, but found me a treasure in eBay. Not lego branded but by design i found myself crusing two BSB. (its called the 'black pearl' by bricks operates out of hong kong) now on its way is my 5 other ships as well as its crew. 52 imperial soldiers have turned to my side, as well as 96 pirates to crew the ships. The fleet be seven ships strong (i hope pics work) http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/pict/2702174325318080_1.jpg One basically a bsb with midsection doubled (Black sails) (4 mid sections) http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/5/1/3/6/6/3...10462536_tp.jpg two bsb (Red sails) (3 mid sections) http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/pict/2702174325368080_1.jpg two small sized bsb (Yellow sails) (2 mid sections) http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/pict/2702174325378080_1.jpg two single mid sectioned ships (Blue sails) (1 mid section) So What fleet ya be floatin?
-
Argh, u be accuire'n a ship, then finding a crew. nothin worse than a crew with no-where'd go! Best thing though is ta follow ya heart, no point following the wind if ya heart lies in the tides. Ya hear me ya seadog. (or swamp fox close enough).
-
Argh, it be crewed by the damed, but cannon fire to the mid section would send her to the depths. Ev'r seen a skeleton try'n swim, tis a sight to behold. Yah sink the ship and they'd have ta pursue on foot at the bottom of Davie Jone's Locker, good luck kepn up with me in me SES! Aye great creation, may your ship never sail me waters!
-
Argh that hull be something special, many a long drink spent on its creation. safe travels to it and the crew, unless you enter my waters then consider your self my plunder.
-
Aye, Zuloo be right, a BSB pulling alside this Captin's hide away, n he'd be blown straight into that sparklin water fall. Where be the water for that water fall be comin from? At this rate it'll stop its pouring as soon as the rain goes. A nice MOC to be sure, but as true as a dogs bone be yellowy white, not realistic. Argh, congrats to the maker, may he find many a treasure.

What's your favourite LEGO Pirate animal?
Admiral Blockbeard replied to Col. Whipstick's topic in LEGO Pirates
Argh, Monkey be the way to go! My monkeys saved me life many a time, once accidently shot out a cannon by crew not payen enough attention, swam right back and not a scratch. No pirate captain would ever vote for a shark, he'd be sooner eaten, same goes for the croc. As for the bird its a tough call, but the dam thing just n'ver stops his skawkn.
