The New Pirate Forum Skin - Have your say
Admiral Blockbeard replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Wow we have FISH!!! it looks great!!! full compements Phes and others involved!!! the grading of the blue along the sides is just perfect! Just perfect basically somes it all up. Proud to be a part of the wonderful looking Pirate Forum... yes there could be less fish however once the actual forum loads over it there is less fish seen, hence i think what you have done is perfect, that is obviously only my opinion though. Thanks for all the hard work your putting in! -
Non-Pirate Mini-Figures Useful for Pirate MOCing?
Admiral Blockbeard replied to Athos's topic in LEGO Pirates
Just about any of the Cedric the Bulls and his men faces can be used (knights kingdom) there iis even one with a green stitched eye patch -
ahh I see, i too have never made a Vig... as such. points heard and noted... im learning, slowly but im sure i will get there in the end... as it has been suggested its crowded maybe a little extra flooring could be provided, more square than its current rectangular design? i think 16 x 16 is an excepted size, but that is double compared to your ?8x14? what are the sizes your allowed?

i would not call it ignorance mister phes, in another topic on the forum there was a similar question of it being a moc or vig... i say if its so disputed why not have the middle ground of a Mocette, although by definition aren't all vig's going to be a MOC unless from a packet... a definition of a MOCETTE, something that is disputed in its discription of being both a MOC and Vignette, also includes scenes made with many mini-figs that does not meet the definitions of a Vignette -feel free to add to or adjust. How does that sound? So for example my Imperial Burial, and Boneparte's English Square could be included as Mocettes... now its a matter of finding out if it will catch on. I quite like the idea... So are we to have a competion? If mocette does become a new term, congrats to oDDerFisken for making the first official piece of its kind! I can only hope those pirates find a friendly face in those waters.

Enlighten Brick Boats Review

lol, i think i will be competing with quite a few people... that was the other advantage it was BUY IT NOW... yay... the other thing is i really do want the bsb to be my first lego ship -
Online mode allows you to price the creation, order online what you have made and create the packet your creation will come in. It is very cool. I am yet to check prices compared to brick link but it could be another way of ordering in bolk the pieces you need... come to think of it, it could help the shortage of your normal blocks... im just not sure on poastage costs... and as for minifigs, we can nearly forget it they have very limited range... i dont think i left out any functions oh but ldd does also have an explode your creation, something rather amusing, watch it explode into indvidual bits then reform infront of your eyes. (not part of online just a feature)

one of the unlucky crew, i actually made it so the line of men was short a man. if you look closely the line of normal soldiers goes four then five... normally i would have put five and five as it is anesthetically (is that the word?) more pleasing... if you'd like a story i would more than be willing, however it will have to come after my law assignment... i should ask oDDerFisken for some good Danish Names...

"Search" is working fine for me... hmm i may know what he means when i first joined i thought it was just my computer, not able to do a search since i was new or something what i failed to do was read this... Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: One or all of your search keywords were below 4 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please go back and increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords. Useful Links Forgotten Password Recovery Register a new account Our help documentation Contact the forums administrator I had typed in LDD, hence it was shorter than 4 characters... snefroe, being a space mod i doubt it being as simple as this but "search" and 'search topic' seem to be working for me -
i know you were joking, i was running with it... if your badly in need of bricks start asking close friends for their old collections offer to pay, you will be surprised!, although if they are married the most likely response you will get is, 'oh were going to save it for our kids'... a mum of a friend who has a ship told him to hang on to it just for his kids, obviously i had offered to pay for it being an incomplete CC... i sit here now thinking about some toddler eating it in 5 years time... sigh i have also been told i could borrow lego, i laughed so hard... they obviously have no idea how hard it is to keep collections seperate, my bro and i tryied for 14 years till one day mum decided to 'clean up', they have been joined ever since.

Firstly that is US$45 without adding postage and handling from GOD knows what country, the US$50 on ebay includes postage, and this was also not the price i payed for it ;-) i payed closer to $35 including postage i hear what your saying though. ohh and these came with 4x imperial soldiers (armda clone hats and 'captain') and 2x pirates (Cpt & one eyed jack) -
I completely agree with erroist, i was making a huge castle plus port for my ship, i saved it then all of the sudden would never load again because it had too many bricks... all that work was lost. has anyone ever had this problem with MLCad?

LOL, i actually have near the whole set of "king leo"'s Kingdom set so to chinese water torture me would be killing a fellow lego supporter. i have a rather extensive collection meaning many blocks of lego, and getting DONATIONS lol would you believe it, people no longer want lego and know im into it and are giving it to me. I consider it a public service seeing as most of these people were going to THROW IT OUT... so far im yet to get any pirate lego, just the normal blocks. As for punishment, the pure fact i have to make do with clones is bad enough, if i were your ages (guessing most are 20+) i would have had stronger buying power back when lego pirates were out and would have MANY MANY more official sets i guess i have to make do with my measly 3 pirate sets plus clones... Oh and as far as the hat goes im pretty sure it a legal thing, as pirate cpt. have gold boarders will post pic later... and the imperial soldiers lack any gold on the uniform... they obviously had gold paint so why not put it on the soldiers if not for legal reasons.

Yes i found it both humerous and disappointing that they had the white part back to front, however it does give them a distinctive look to the lego ones. i was almost spitting when i saw one had come scratched, but i have since come to like the black lines, they almost look as if placed purposefully. I have thought the flag thing through, if i were to have it end in red white red, in flags i would need an engenious way of getting it attached to the flag. But as this project has already been broken up, its just never going to happen.

Sorry for double post but i just found that the moving text option runs in front of the drop down menu... when you go over a link from the moving text it will remove you from the drop down menu, no big problem, but if your a perfectionist now you know... -
I believe you may have invented an all new section of creation Mister Phes, should we chirsten the "MOCETTE" with a bottle of wine over the bow. Or perhaps a competion in making pirate mocettes, in which case i enter my imperial burial...
-
ohh whats this MLCAD can i have it, where do i find, link please!!! im hoping this has extra bits like SHIP HULLS and MASTS as well as soldier pieces, if it is my dreams just came true!

I agree it is busy, however, remember we are on a ship, and ships are crowded... As for a wall of a ship something like this could be suggested...

Box art of the ships is 'photo'ed bellow, in my opinion it is close between the real product and advertising art. unfortunatlly i do not have the lego originals, maybe someone who has them would like to post pics of their ships side by side with mine... And yes they probably should have been reviewed separately however i thought putting four new threads up in one hit would appear as if im flooding the forum... Also here is a Pic requested by Joey Lock -

EB Pirates Episode 2 - Welcome to Port Paraiso!
Admiral Blockbeard replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
LOL i just thought we could have the Lego Pirates Clone Wars LOL... Lego would have to win obviously! Those ships are the best i have seen, the decoration and the balcony on the galleon is just wow, if i were to create ships i were proud of they would very closely resemble these. Great story to go with it, but just how does la requin sail off with out its main sail so quickly... Oh wait lego's easier to repair than wood, slaps head for forgetting it was made of lego... Great Job -
USS Constitution: a work in progress
Admiral Blockbeard replied to Capn Frank's topic in Pirate MOCs
Wow nothing short of magnificent and impressive, i am very quickly becoming a fan of yours. Your Dog is beautiful, in Australia we have them as sheep dogs alot, a think by looking at him/her that its a red healer or blue healer. As for the Spar decks its my opinion that its the right size, its just that for now they are not looking proportional to the unfinished length and size of the boat. But i reserve complete opinion on that till i see it finished. It was well worth the sleepless night for this pix... i hadn't the time to comment them back then, but im just as impressed the first time i saw the pics the second time round. Keep up the good work! -
Maybe if you found a way to file share the save file one of us could open it up and find out the cost of it for you... also if you do find a way to 'post' the save file, maybe that could be a way of sharing our LDD MOC's. i have also done a ship in LDD, but pictures are inferior to being able to actually move around and view from all angles in LDD... BTW NICE SHIP!
