With how female characters were portrayed in Abrams' Star Trek films, their might be room for concern.

300 and Watchmen are adapted works though. Look at any page in Frank Miller's 300 and you'll see that Snyder was only being consistent with it. Same for what is depicted in Watchmen. Silk Spectre has been said to be an homage to characters like Black Canary. Snyder has a lot of hallmarks in his films, but a lot of them were subdued in MoS.

Let's break this down: As far as MoS being dark, I agree, but I think it is the film's way of being distinct. We already had our lighthearted Superman film in the form of Richard Donner's film. The film is just as violent as any other Super Hero film. Captain America shows a man being thrown into a propeller. Mos features very little slow motion in it. How was MoS sexually fetishized? None of the female characters are wearing suggestive clothing and the only nudity that is shown is a baby. If anything, MARVEL is more sexually fetishized. In Iron Man, Tony Stark has his stewardesses dance in a suggestive way for his pleasure. It serves no point in the movie. All we know about Black Widow in Iron Man 2 is that she is a spy and to maintain her cover was a underwear model. As far as I can tell, her only role in the movie was for us to see her strip in the car (poor writing). Pepper Pots spends the latter part of Iron Man 3 shirtless and somehow learned martial arts from being injected with Extremis (poor writing). All we know about Maya Hansen is that she had a one night stand with Tony Stark and can't seem to decide who's side she wants to be on (poor writing). If we were talking about Michael Bay I would agree with you, but I think you're reaching here.

Leo's new shell can accommodate the sword holder piece. -
It might be a similar situation like the clone Lieutenant last year. So maybe during Fall.

Despite some of the reservations that I have about the film, the sets at least look very promising. -

Perhaps you enjoyed the movies because you didn't have a previous attachment to it? Already existing fans have a preconceived notion about what franchise they're into should be about. When a new film comes out that goes against it , fans should be able to voice their criticisms. Not all change is bad if it fits with a certain context; When it doesn't, then there is a problem. It's also hard to ignore a film since it will be what the public will be fixated on. Mutants should be ugly (except in the case of the X-Men), however this film takes it to an extreme. Their monstrous sizes would interfere greatly with stealth, something that is necessary for ninja. Also how are they suppose to go through manhole covers if they're so large? There are other issues with this movie as well, such as a white Shredder and April O'neil being portrayed by an actress like Megan Fox. These are perfectly valid concerns to have in regards to the upcoming film. As for the 2007 film, don't bother. It has a good visual style and a great cast, but the story is very generic. For a recommendation, I'd suggest reading the current IDW series. It changes things up but still remains faithful to the original mythos. It even has Kevin Eastman, the co-creator of TMNT involved with it. -
Halle Berry was a terrible Storm anyway. Still, this is concerning for it cements that the other future Mutants have a very small role as well. Rogue was already apparently cut out. This should have been Kitty Pryde's movie like in the comic that this film is based off of.

Batman and Superman are guaranteed successes, so it's little wonder why they use them often. WB tried Green Lantern and that failed (it was a terrible movie). As for Marvel, the only reason why they use lesser known characters is because that's all they have left. We wouldn't see Iron man, Thor or the Guardians of the Galaxy if they still had their A-listers.

If you're interested, you should read the current IDW TMNT series. It incorporates elements from several incarnations into a fresh new story. As for the Party Wagon, the new Turtle Van isn't too far away from it in appearance. -
By that logic, Thor and the Hulk must suck since they're powerful too. The latter of which reduced the main antagonist in The Avengers to nothing more than a rag doll. Fans are annoying everywhere you turn, look no further than the ones that obsess over Loki. It doesn't make him any less of an interesting character (the only interesting Marvel villain so far) or others that have similar fans.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Lost Missions
Darth Lurtz replied to commanderneyo's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Those scenes are considered non-canon. They weren't part of the film and the effects weren't finished in those scenes. The only way that they could be considered canon is if they were to be included in a later version of the movie. The chances of that happening are very slim now, since the 3D rerelease was cancelled and Disney seems to be distancing themselves from the Prequel Trilogy. -
It feels very redundant that we have both the trike and the Juniors set at the same time. Won't more people want Electro since he's new?

Looks like the twenty dollar price point continues to be the gold standard for the Super Heroes Theme.

Both Arrow and Agents of Shield are network shows, meaning that they have to appeal to a wider audience than shows like Breaking Bad. I also feel a bit dirty hearing Lost be put on a pedestal next to Breaking Bad.

Reminds me of when people were panicking about the possibility of not getting a complete Fellowship of the Ring. Guess what? We got them, not just them but also all of the thirteen dwarves. People just need to be patient and remain calm.

My top films of the year: 1. Her 2. Gravity 3. American Hustle 4. The Wolverine 5. Frozen Worst movie: 1. Iron Man 3- There were no doubt worse movies made this year than this, but I'm going with the one that angered me the most (and one that I actually saw). This version's portrayal of the Mandarin is the least of this film's problems. It also doesn't help that this had the worst licensed sets of any any theme so far.

It looks promising, but I had similar thoughts for Iron Man 3 before I saw that movie.

I can't believe we have more variants of the Hulk than we do Spiderman in the mainline.

I share the same sentiments as others regarding the lack of a Spiderman variant. As for Ultimate Electro, i'm guessing they strayed away from his classic look as to not be confused with the Hydra Soldier.
