  1. Amazing! That's gotta be one of the best and most realistic Lego mills I've seen. Some years ago I also toyed with the idea of building a medieval mill for my Vikings using only tiles, but I never got around to actually constructing it. As for the colors, maybe you could mix in different shades of grey tiles to give it that worn look (old dark/light grey, new dark/light gray). I would've loved to have seen a grey version of this mill, but I understand and agree that it might looks a bit weird (like it's made out of metal or something). Anyway, great job . Can't wait to see this incorporated into the diorama!
  2. Might that be a part of a mill, perhaps?
  3. You're off on a good start. I like what you have made already so far . The addition of lime green pieces to the walls is a nice touch, making the wall seem a bit more "alive" with greenery. Are you planning on giving the building a complete interior, with furniture and the likes?
  4. Wow ! That's really amazing. The sheer size of this creation is already enough to melt my brains . 20 48x48 baseplates... How long did it take you to collect all these bricks needed for your castle? Or are you just ordering along while your building? I'll second what Gabe said: that portcullis looks really nice. Those tooth pieces give it a very "real" touch.
  5. Hello all! In this topic I'll be presenting my current Castle project, namely Redmayne manor. Since I like to post the progression of a MOC, I've decided to this for this MOC, too. So instead of showing the complete MOC at once, I'll be posting updates every now and then, like I did with my ship As was the case with my other project, this is also rooted in the background I made up for my LEGO Castle/Kingdoms world. You can find more about the background in my flickr stream. Anyway, onto the fictional introduction and the first pictures of my MOC ! * Obviously, I'm referring to the building style used by EB member Derfel Cadarn. Front view. The well is the only piece that I've finished completely so far. You can see Baldwin visiting the construction site with his guards. The guy with the Phrygian cap is the architect, Robert Builder. Bird's eye view. The entrance will be built on the left, where the scaffolding is now. Rightside view. This is the view of the right side of the manor. The colorful supports will of course be hidden by a wall of 'normal' colored bricks . As you can clearly see, the entire building is still very WIP. Patches of brightly colored bricks still need to be built over and covered with green or other colors. I still need to continue the landscaping, but I'll probably do that last, since I don't really like doing it . The scaffolding in the pictures will obviously go away once I continue building. I just put it there to 'enhance' the presentation of the building's construction. So, there you go! I know there's not much to comment on already, but rest assured updates will come . Here's the brickshelf gallery: Redmayne Manor . It doesn't contain more pics than the ones I posted, though (for now!).
  6. Eric distributed the gold evenly. Every party member got 100 gold pieces. He listened to the proposals of his fellow party members, while taking another sip of rum. "Let's open up this door with the Bronze Key. Maybe there's a prison on the other side somewhere."
  7. Eric looked at Hybros' pockets, filled to the brim with gold. "You lucky little rascal. Well done, friend!" he said as he patted the little imp on the back. "Now let's go check out those jail cells and find Reno"
  8. As the Ethereal Prison started forming around him, Eric panicked. He never liked being confined to small spaces, he much preferred the great outdoors. His relative freedom was one of the last thins he had left, something he cherished the most. Now, that, too, was taken from him. Like a caged bear he roared and raged, trying to break the Ethereal bars of the cage. Each time he tried to do so, however, he got zapped by the magical powers of the cage. He did not relent, and stood back up every time he got zapped down. The trapped Nord turned to the party and yelled "Throw the bomb, I can take it! Get me out of here!" Battle Order: Erdathcath Ad-Hoh Hybros Hybros Eric Christopher Maurice
  9. Eric got a bad case of déja vu. Were the drinks getting to his head? Eager to take down the jailor, he charged again. Eric will attack from the front row, using Godricsleif. Battle Order: Eric Hybros Hybros Ad-Hoh Erdathcath Christopher Maurice
  10. "So, you're just going to leave Hybros there for this turn?" Eric will attack the jailor from the front row, using Godricsleif. Battle Order: Eric Ad-Hoh Erdathcath Christopher Hybros Maurice
  11. That's a pretty bad-megablocks jailor we've encountered here. Hopefully for us Jolly Roger's less tough than his personnel .
  12. Eric's blood pumped wildly through his veins. He was focused on the battle at hand. Hopefully, luck would remain his. "Alright, the Knight's Shield will protect us for this turn. I suggest we use this chance to raise our combat effectiveness. Ad-Hoh, could you try to free Hybros with one of your spells? Monk, could you spare that last bottle of mead or nostrum and hand it to me? I'll pay you back the first time an opportunity is given. Christopher, maybe you should take some mead, too? I want this jailor down as soon as possible, before this battle starts dragging on!" Battle Order: Erdathcath attack jailor? Christopher take mead? Ad-Hoh free Hybros? Hybros ?? Maurice give mead or nostrum to Eric? Eric drink mead or nostrum (is this possible? can I drink it the same turn I'm given it?)
  13. "I need a drink" Eric thought, but sadly he didn't have any mead left. He could certainly use its aid now, facing what was most likely the toughest opponent to date. Eric will attack the Jailor using the Twin Axe from the front row (I'll damage him twice with this, no?) Battle order: Eric Hybros Ad-Hoh Erdatcath Christopher Maurice
  14. Eric withdraw his blade from the pirate's corpse. He then sheathed it and gathered the loot. There wasn't that much to share, so the division went rather easy. Division of loot: Eric: Bronze Key Ad-Hoh: Grand Potion Hybros: Bananerang Blade "I wouldn't take the stairs yet, Erdathcath. Let's see if Giocondo was right about the jailor being in the room at the end of the corridor." he gestured towards the door and let the party there. "Another thing before we enter. If you want to drink mead or anything else that stimulates, do so now. There'll probably be another battle up ahead." The party will check out the room at the end of the corridor.
  15. Eric grinned as he cut through the pirates. The mead coursing through his veins made him strong again, for a moment he felt like an angel dealing death to these miserable creatures. Eager for more, he continued his attack. Eric attacks Pirate Mutant from the front row, using Godricsleif. Battle Order: Eric Maurice Christopher Erdatcath Ad-Hoh Hybros
  16. So, it's on then? Aww, pumpkin, you're too kind . "I've got Z-mail"
  17. Eric felt somewhat saddened by his loss of a beloved bottle of liquor, but at least he could fully concentrate on the battle now. The mead gave him a great feeling, it made him stronger than before. For a moment, he was able to forget about his problems. He hadn't even felt the parrot's attack. Eagerly he charged at the weird pirate mutant, whose head was shaped like a shell. What kind of pirates were these folks, anyway? Eric attacks Pirate Mutant from the front row, using Godricsleif. Battle Order: Eric Ad-Hoh Erdatcath Hybros Christopher Maurice
  18. Very, very nice. The new pictures look great. I'm wondering where you got those dark tan planks, though. I could've sworn I've seen them somewhere, but I can't recall where . Are they from Brickforge or some Bricklink store (I think there's a German store on Bricklink that sells custom printed items, too, but I can't remember its name).
  19. I'm eagerly awaiting the first reviews to pop up, but it's still so far away. About six more months of waiting .
  20. Lovely . I really like your "normal" citizen MOCs adding a bit of background to the Mitgardian faction. Good job!
  21. @WBD: Thanks, I appreciate it.

@Brickdoctor: Also thanks. My new avatar has a purpose that will be unveiled later ;) .

  22. Kind of feel stupid too for missing that. I should of know it meant something about feasting hall.
  23. How about we turn this into a three-man archeology expedition, eh? You know, the team reunited for old times sake, heh heh. "I've got Z-mail!"
  24. A pinkish lettered fluttered from the air as Eric led the companions into battle. Quickly dismissing it Eric focused on the battle ahead. Wanting to speed things up after the sluggish progress the party had been making, Eric grudgingly decided to hand over one of his precious rum bottles to the Pirate Raider. He wanted a fight as much as anything else, but right now, speed was more of essence. Eric hands the Pirate Raider a bottle of Rum. Battle Order: Eric Ad-Hoh Erdatcath Hybros Christopher Maurice
  25. As Eric was preparing to assault the pirates at Jolly Roger's grotto a letter apparated out of nothing but thin air. Surprised Eric picked up the purple enveloppe and tore it open. It contained a letter written by some Monk and 99 pieces. Eric quickly skimmed through it and noticed words such as 'spare change', 'collecting gold' and 'salvation'. At the end it inquired to reply this 'Monk Pretzel' using something called Z-mail. Uninterested, Eric tossed away the letter and muttered something along the lines of "I don't do charity" and simply returned to the mission at hand. Besides, what self-respecting monk names himself after something eatable anyway?
