OOC: I guess we have to explore the city as a party? No one can wander off on their own and visit a section/region, or am I mistaken? E.g.: Heckz can't look for the lost family while the rest searches for the Sister? Eric peeked at the map, looking over Heckz's shoulder, not really caring that he was intervening in the mage's business. "The lost Sister is probably at the beach resort. Yeah, definitely the beach resort," the Nord grinned. "I suggest we go to the resort, while the sun is still high. Or we get drinks first and then hit the beach to check out the local scene. See what the city has to offer, while we relax after that long and arduous journey..." The Nord stretched his long, muscular arms and grinned mischievously. "That long journey on which I massacred those pesky Sirens," he bragged, not wanting to let the chance slide by to boast.

Eric raised an eyebrow. "How come the next Eldest Sister will not be chosen quickly? I imagine the Eldest Sister to be just that, the eldest Sister here. Not really that difficult to figure out who oldest." The Nord looked around and pulled at his collar. With the back of his hand he brushed off some sweat running across his forehead. He was definitely not used to this heat. And he certainly didn't take a liking to it. "Yeah, I could do with a drink. A bar is still the best place to gather some intel."

OOC: Sandy, I should have 51HP, you forgot to add 1HP when I leveled up Eric accepted Boomingham's hand and chuckled. The Nord never doubted his own prowess, nor Boomingham's skill with the blade. Full of pride, he haughtily glanced towards the Sisters of Danab, safe for Peri, who he deemed especially weak. Eric did not say the words, though, but the way he thought, could be read clearly in his eyes and expression. The Nord nodded towards Sarge, subtly directing Boomingham's gaze to the other old man. "He ain't half bad himself. I fought with him in Babeleth. Packs a hell of a punch, despite his age and sickness. That mechanical leg of his is a pretty nifty piece of machinery. Served with Reno once, that one."

Eric grinned widely as he stood amidst his slain enemies, their limbs and corpses strewn across the helm. He sheathed his sword and doused his hands in Siren's blood which he then used to mark his face in a ritual manner. The Nord picked up a head of one of the slain Sirens and held it aloft. "Blood for the Wargod, skulls for Wartan!", he roared. It had been a while since he had last honored the gods, but this victory had made Eric ecstatic. The Raider then kicked one of the Siren's bodies overboard with his foot. An offering to appease Njordon, lord of the seas, so he would safeguard their further passage to Salmanda. Not caring for any weird looks Eric might've gotten during his display, the Nord turned his attention to the loot. "I claim the Feather of Lithe."

Great job on making the Writeboard ! Still, would it not be easier to just make a new topic here in the Heroica subforum, to keep the discussion on Eurobricks? That way, we can just copy all that has been said in the Rules topic, the Discussion topic and the Writeboard into the new topic. It's probably just me though (since I'm not used to Writeboard), but I feel discussions are more clear and easier to follow here on EB. I don't get the "version 1/2/3" thingie on writeboard . For now, I'll try to join the Writeboard discussion, though . Cool Kids' Longsword outnumbers all others though... So maybe they're actually the coolest?

Thanks . I'll see what I can do about that lens flare . I'll rework the logo some more, I got some idle time on my hands between my current freelance assignments . Thanks for the compliment . On the second part of your post, I'm with Pie, though. That's a lot of work and a lot of extra, well, everything, really, just for some minor difference. Finding people with enough time to host Heroica In Space would already prove to be difficult, let alone having to find people to host 2 Heroicas In Space. If a follow-up to Heroica would indeed be formed, I also believe it would benefit from being run by a select group of people, instead of just one. I can only second what you said: Sandy is doing a helluva great job, but it'd just be easier to divide some of the work that goes into organizing stuff like this between multiple people .
-
I believe we're mostly just toying with the idea. I know I for sure wouldn't know how I'd do all the organisational stuff you do, plus "real life" with only 24hours a day. It's really insane . Still, it would be cool in a way to see a working and running sci-fi Heroica . Here's a logo I made for fun, based on KingoftheZempk's suggestion. I added a shitload of lens flare, because sci-fi, amirite . It could do with a little less, though. I'll have to e-mail JJ Abrams about that...

That's a name more like it! Cool. Again, I second KOTZ here (in this case on the second part of his post.)

New factions using stuff from the existing factions (both classic factions and new ones). Like Sandy did for Heroica. For example toss Classic Space, Galaxy Squad, Space Police together and call them the Galactic Alliance or whatever, using the Classic Space moon and rocket logo. Same goes for the aliens, toss some different factions, both old and new together to create something new for the RP. Use one of their logos as that faction's sigil. It's what Sandy did for his factions. Bonapartes aren't exclusively Black Falcons, they're a mixture of a lot of things. I would definitely not only use the really old 80's factions. Mix them with the newer ones to create something that appeals to everybody . Using existing Space factions is kind of the same thing as using existing Castle factions to me. I don't really get the difference you're aiming at? Both have worlds and stories already defined by LEGO. What KOTZ said . On a different note: I guess Cool Kids Club is open to original Barbarians too?

Herospace doesn't really have a ring to it, now has it? If there were ever to be a space/sci-fi version of Heroica, it'd be better to use the name Heroica and a new tag line. That way, you can build on already existing "branding". Like Warhammer and Warhammer 40k. A silly example of what I'm trying to say would be Heroica RPG: the Future. When Heroica RPG started I made a space version of it, just for fun. Mainly I just remade the rules pages and made some new classes. Sadly, I no longer have these files :sad_cry: . I looked for them all over my computer and my external hard drive, but they are gone. I must've deleted them waaaay back. Instead of a Hall, I also made it a space station, like you suggested. I think I called New Eubric Station, or something like that. Again, for continuity. Even though, these would be two completely different games, can't hurt to re-use some of the names, can it? Instead of the "classic" factions like you suggested, I used the more recent ones. With those Alien guys Kinto used in his Quest and a human space faction based on the Collectable Minifig space trooper guy. Blacktron was also involved as a terrorist organisation, if I recall, but I'm not really sure. I had some solid background stuff, but again, like I said, I can't find it anymore . I even had a wicked space map and all and logos for factions! I would not have any problem with a reskin. Heroica RPG is good. It's been tried and tested. Obviously, changes would have to be made for the space setting, but I don't see why you can't re-use some of the names? Factions, I'd re-name, to emphasize the Space setting is indeed different from the Fantasy one.

Eric roared in a violent and bestial way, pounding his chest with his one free hand. He raised his arms in a display of showmanship, as if trying to work up an imaginary crowd. Unfortunately for the Nord, most of the crowd of the Flouncy Phoenix was unconscious. In an effort to minimize the changes of him jumping overboard, Eric uncorked a Nostrum and drank the potion, hoping it would make him Lucky. Battle Order Boomingham vs. Siren Temptress D Eric drinks Nostrum Eric vs. Sterope, front row, Godricsleif >Peri heals Boomingham if hurt; else Eric Okay?

I don't want to go any more off-topic in the Rules topic, so I'll just react here. Wouldn't guns fall in the same category as mech-tanks for the Equalists? To equal the playing field with a Firebender fire-mage, people could build weapons that have similar properties. Like guns. Or rudimentary flamethrowers (like the Byzantine Empire used) . Technological advance would be different to the real world, but I don't think it'd never happen at all. Like in the Avatar world the powerless would seek the means to become equal to those with magical "gifts". For clarification I'm also in the "no" camp on guns in Heroica. I just wanted to throw in my 2cents in the Avatar discussion, 'cuz AVATAAAAR!

I believe Siren Temptress A should be Blinded, seeing it got hit with Conspirator. Or did you calculate the Damage with Eric using Godricsleif in mind? If that's the case, no need to recalculate everything and leave the results as they are. Eric furiously hacked and slashed away at his opponents. With one of his free hands he grabbed hold of one of the albatrosses, pulling it out of the air and biting its head off in a very bestial manner. He grinned his blood-stained teeth bare as one by one his foes fell. When the others went down and more Sirens rallied to the helm, Eric spun Conspirator in his hand, ready to fully prove himself. Perhaps it would be wiser to forfeit the fight, but the Nord was simply too stubborn or prideful to yield. "Got any plans in that wise head of yours, Lawrence?" Battle Order Boomingham attacks Sterope Peri heals Boomingham Eric uses Nostrum Eric uses Mulled wine Grey = suggested course of action, not yet definite. Thoughts?

Definitely make sure you have plenty of photos of all your builds and scenarios/encounters beforehand. Can't stress this enough! It'll save you A LOT of work and maybe even stress later on, when you're actually hosting the quest. I made the mistake of only taking a handful of photos beforehand, thinking I'd manage and just make some photos along the road, but boy, was I wrong . If there's one main lesson I learned from hosting, this is the one: plan & prepare plenty. Seriously.

Eric switches back to Reno's old weapon and slashes away at the Sirens again. Meanwhile, Peri tries to bat away the albatrosses with her broom. Eric attacks Siren Temptress A & B from the front row, using Conspirator. Peri attacks the Flock of Albatrosses from the back row. Battle Order Boomingham Eric v. Siren Temptress A Eric v. Siren Temptress B > Peri v. Flock of Albatrosses

Eric continued to slash at the enemies. He refused to be the Hero with the fewest kills. Eric attacks Sirens Temptress A & the Flock from the front row. Peri heals herself. Front party order: Boomingham v. Temptress B Eric v. Temptress A Eric v. the Flock >Peri heals herself

I'm back! Thanks for handling that, Zepher. I had more difficulty checking in than I had anticipated. The front party was finally making some progress and it was clearly pleasuring Eric. The grinned wickedly as he decapitated one of the Sirens and her blood splattered all over him. With a menacing fire burning in his eyes he turned the remaining Sirens. "Let's do this!" Eric attacks Temptress A & B, both from the front row, using Godricsleif. Peri attacks Songstress B from the back. Front party battle order Boomingham Eric v. Siren Temptress A (Godricsleif) Eric v. Siren Temptress B (Godricsleif) >Peri v. Siren Songstress B

"I could've sworn I used to be better at this," Eric muttered to himself as fails to steal any gold again. "My efforts are becoming quite useless." He then proceeded to attack two of the Sirens, hoping to dish out some real damage this time. "I'll go for the Siren you Poisoned, Boomingham. Perhaps you can try and Poison the other singing Siren?" Eric then directed his attention to Peri. "You just keeping slapping that broom at the birdies" Eric attacks Songstress A and then attacks Temptress B. Both from the front row. Periwinkle attacks the Flock from the back row. Front party battle order Boomingham Eric Peri I'll be away for the weekend, starting tomorrow. I'll try to check in, but if I don't post an action, Zepher can control Eric.

I don't think that's much of a problem . You don't always have to conform to the stereotype of your class. Boomingham isn't what you'd expect of a Paladin and a while back there was also a Metasimian Black Knight who was actually a real gentleman . Can't recall the PC's name at the moment, though.

"Magic. Like any cheap charlatan.", Eric bitterly grunted.

Eric cursed as Boomingham went down. Frustrated, he muttered some incomprehensible words in his mother tongue. "We kill these bitches, that's what we're going to do, Peri!" The Nord uncorked his Phoenix Essence and used it on Boomingham. He then ordered Peri to heal him and looked at whom next to strike. Eric smirked a nodded a slight "thank you" to Barty, the guardian angel who would protect them during the next round of combat. The little bugger sure was a handy tool to have in a fight. Peri heals Eric First, Eric uses Phoenix Essence on Boomingham. Then, if Peri healed him, Eric attacks Siren Songstress A. If not healed Eric will use a Grand Potion on himself. Front party battle order Peri Eric Boomingham
