  1. Gotcha! Seeing as how I recently presented this, I felt I'd leave them out so you could see the inside easily. As for everyone else, thanks for the feedback!
  2. Thanks for the feedback! I've considered turning this into a comic, so that idea isn't out of the suggestion. As for the "implausible and wild" factor, part of this is suppose to be kind of wild. To be quite honest, most of these ideas come from situations in books or games, so that is why some of them seem kind of out there. However, a few realistic ones are actually on the way; I didn't forget about them. The text and picture balance is off; I've kind of been experimenting with it since Tip #4. Now, for camera angles and posing, that's partially just my presentation failure. I generally take boring photos (been working on it though), and my minifig poses are kinda weak depending on the design of the MOC. I'll definitely work on that . Lastly, fourth wall breaking... I'll probably cut back on it if it does help the reader get more into the short tale. Looks like I got some work for Tip #6
  3. I'm very excited to say that you're still alive (or undead if that's the case)! Something I'm saying, or your own genius, has kept you alive. Well done! Continuing with these stories, I'd like to introduce you to Tip #5 and introduce you to Tim Stevens I bet you have all sorts of questions about this picture, but I'll answer those questions in a minute. Mr. Stevens is a good fellow. He helped old women cross the street, he took out the trash (rather than dumping it in the streets), he saved multiple kittens from trees, and he always volunteered to run to the other side of the kingdom to get supplies the village needed. Because of his good deeds, the village bought him an iron breastplate and shield and a steel longsword. Furthermore, several of the guards taught him a couple of techniques. He believed this was his sign to leave the village and spread good deeds! Quite a noble calling indeed. As he left the village, a young woman in a green dress ran to him for help. Her wagon had broken down, and her cow's foot had been caught in a hunting trap. This was his first good deed in the world! Now onto the picture above, as he arrived, the young woman turned and summoned a magic barrier behind him. To make matters worse... He was completely surrounded and had no clue of how to fight magic. Within mere minutes (actually seconds)... The bandit in the red coat sliced his head clean off, and they all celebrated in a job well done. Rumor has it, they made roughly about 7 gold from his armor, clothes, and various goods on his person. As for his body, I believe some squirrels got to it first. Darn, dirty squirrels! This introduces Tip #5 - Beware of helping random citizens on the road. Not everyone you run into needs the help! Bandits sometimes utilize this tactic to kill wanderers and unwary adventurers ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stay tuned for Tip #6 Hey folks! Are you a skilled adventurer? Have you been through a fair share of quests? Do you just want to help people? If so feel free to submit ideas to HNGK: A Guide for New Adventurers. Who knows, you might just end up saving some poor soul! As usual Decals by Saber-Scorpion C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!
  4. Ixia joined the BLG shortly after it had become renowned. Unlike many other members, Ixia is a demon and a very skilled sorceress. Because of her unique heritage, she is able to call forth powerful magic torrents to demolish multiple opponents. Furthermore, her unique demonic catalyst allows her to control this power easily without needing years of training. Compared to most members of the BLG, Ixia has more of a neutral evil alignment, but it is also not impossible for her to perform good deeds. Most people that anger her don't live long, so it helps not to make her angry. 5. Alright here's the final product, hope you all like it <Once more sorry for bad pictures, I still need a bigger white board> Overview of the Fort: it mostly remains the same except I added some additional visual elements Forge Area Small Storage Area Very Small Alchemy station I just really felt the need to add this Cooking area Those are my changes. With any luck I'll get onto building something else. I may revisit this area when my tan/dark tan pieces get a bit higher. As usual C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!
  6. Okay probably not my best choice, but I figured I hadn't used it in an MOC The blood comes from Brickforge actually. You can find it under spill accessories
  7. I want to take a small moment to thank the reader for still being alive or a living dead still capable of thought and speech. Now, before I continue, I want to ensure everyone that Tip #4 is not to be offensive. However, it is still a very valuable lesson that needs to be learned. For the most part, this lesson will only apply to men, so if you're a female adventurer you are at leisure to skip this tip and proceed to the next piece of information. With that short disclaimer, let me introduce Tip #4 This is Pitdog Draven Moors Let me give you a brief introduction about this Pitdog. As you can tell by his rank, he is a newbie, and not necessarily experienced. As a kid, he grew up watching arena fights, and so sought to become the grand champion. He killed a couple of monsters as a child (more like rats) and bragged that he would be the greatest fighter. So here he is in his great splendor! And he is about to die by a minotaur... Wait a second, he actually managed to survive and kill the beast! He slew the foul beast and took its horn as a trophy to show his great prowess! And where better to do that than at... The Drunken Dwarf Tavern Draven began to boast about his great victory over the Minotaur to a young lady in the tavern. She really didn''t seem to care too much as she placed an order with the bartender. Needless to say, Draven didn't like that so tried something a bit more risky to get her attention... So he felt the need to grab her rear... I need not mention how most respond to this, but as you can see... She did not like him doing that, so she pushed him and he stumbled over a table. Before I move on, you should know a couple of things about this young lady. Compared to Draven, she is actually an experienced adventurer; she has fought in many battles and she is also known as "Quickblade." Another interesting thing you should know about her, is... her boyfriend is a Drow, and a very talented duelist. Another interesting fact is that the last five people that hit on her had their skulls collected by this man. With those words being said, as usual, you can see where this is going. He went high, and she went low as a result... Our Pitdog is cut up in two, and never got a chance to become the grand champion. It's probably for better, he was a terrible fighter anyways. This brings us to Tip #4 -If you are a male adventurer, do not hit on every last woman you see to "show your greatness." It is a well known fact that women are very talented fighters, and some even have equally skilled companions (who are very defensive). Please keep your hands to yourself and mind your comments, lest you find yourself being mangled, diced, and annihilated by the two of them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stay tuned for Tip #5 Hope you all enjoy the quick tip. As usual Decals by Saber-Scorpion C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!
  8. Tera joined the BLG shortly after it had been established. Like other shinobi of the Extraho Sol, she is skilled in the dark arts and stealth. Contrary to Hotsuma, she is more skilled in staying in the shadows and sneak attacks. It is rare for her to actually engage in an open fight. Tera follows a more Neutral Good alignment, making her rather easy to get along with. Any guild members in need of a skilled, stealth expert will usually take her along for the quest. 9. Hey folks! I'm back, as usual, and I'm bringing you something special today Let me introduce... The Automaton Knight and the Gnome Technomancer The Technomancer is half machine and half gnome. The original idea behind this came from an old strategy, table-top game called Mage Knights. These guys are quick, agile, and deadly with their technomancy staffs. The idea behind technomancy is primarily a mix of technology and magic; this allows stuff like portals, automatons, and other cool (and very imaginative) devices. Side View As you can see, the techomancer legs were fairly easy to build. Now onto the automaton I primarily focused on making sure this guy had plenty of joints. I managed to get the feet, legs, waist, arms, hands, and head. The color scheme is slightly off, but I used what I had available. These guys are powered by a magestone which is placed in the center of the machine. Back View I decided to add a few gold pieces to take up most of the back of this machine. Joint Articulation A better view of the joints. Anyways that's what I have for now As usual C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!
  10. Kira is one of the original six members of the BLG; she is also the youngest member to join as well. She is a skilled archer, but instead of using a regular bow, she uses a bow composed entirely of magic along with magic arrows as well. Furthermore, she is skilled in unarmed combat just in case of close combat. Along with combat skills, Kira is also a skilled herbalist, making her useful for quest that require excessive amounts of resources. While Kira does have some standards, she has more of a Chaotic Good alignment. Nevertheless, she is rather cheery and a valuable ally. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall MOC Different Angle It's a fairy!!! 11. Nice build! I love the statue at the top of the arch. What are those orcs up to?
  12. Now, if you've made it to Tip #3 I can assume that you haven't died as an adventurer. Of course, you could be an undead reading this in the case of some fallen adventurers who have gained a second chance, which if you are, I apologize for my rather crude remark. Anyways, as I stated earlier, lets move on to Tip #3 First off, let me introduce to you... Jotham son of Valtharn, brother of Yuri, cousin of Bilborn, roommate of Kelkorn, the 16th cousin 26 times removed of Solven the Giant Slayer! Whew, that was a mouthful to say. Anyways, he had a line of err... greatest to live up to. Anyways, here's what you need to know about him before I continue. Jotham is really strong, you can see his muscles clearly. He loved to kill things, as a matter of fact, he would rather take a room for the night and food as a reward rather than money, simply because he enjoyed slaying monsters. He wanted to make a name for himself so he sought to become an Orc Butcher. On about his 4th quest, he faced off against two orcs and came out victorious. Having killed the two, the villagers were delighted, but they knew the orcs would return with more from their camp. So the chieftain devised a plan to get rid of them involving a large raid by the villagers. Right about now, I need to tell you that Jotham doesn't play well with others. He refused their help claiming he could do it himself. Here's where Tip #3 begins... This is a band of angry orcs and trolls, more importantly... That is a Troll Giant behind Jotham, and contrary to most people's belief, the big guy is actually quite fast. You see, Jotham ignored the skulls of fallen warriors on the way to the camp, hoping to slay many like his ancestors did. However, He bit off more than he could chew. Speaking of chewing, the band of trolls and orcs gathered his remains and made Jotham Jambalaya. As for the villagers, well they eventually raided the place only to find Jotham's armor (or lack there of). If only I had written this book would he have known: Tip #3 - The weakest of foes are always dangerous in great numbers. Never take on large groups of people by yourself. Doing so will always leave to a very uncomfortable, painful, gory, and humiliating death. Sad story indeed. Oh well! If you're reading this at least take comfort that you aren't him! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stay tuned for HNGK: A Guide for New Adventurers Tip #4 Hoped you enjoyed this short tale As usual Decals by Saber-Scorpion C&C is welcome and appreciated!!!
  13. Azshara is one of the original members of the BLG. She is particularly skilled in stealth, archery, and sword combat. Of all the BLG members, her skills are the most balanced, making her an excellent guild member for any type of assignment. She has more of a neutral alignment, and is capable of extreme cruelty or great good. Her arrows fly true and always find their target... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall MOC Orc Encampment Side View of MOC Behind the Tree Top of the Tree Member 11/25 Hope you enjoyed the MOC. 14. I personal don't mind flesh faces specifically for a couple of reasons. 1) It allows me to differentiate between different kinds of people (for example, I make vampires/witches/demons appear to have the peach flesh color. 2) It allowed me to make all three of my sigfigs (all of which are black). Personally, I think Lego needs to make more tan and black flesh faces just to add some differences. Among those faces, we could probably use some tan or black female faces (or just some more female faces in general). I had to laugh at this build because I basically did the same thing with my LotR/The Hobbit minifigs.
  15. As I stated earlier, new adventurers are prone to making fatal mistakes. Billy didn't fare too well, but let's face it, he was not the brightest star in the sky. But enough with grim tales, on to tip #2. Let me now introduce you to... Galion the Unicorn! Don't you just want to pet him or feed him? Today's tip has to do with Galion and a new adventurer... Cyrus the Elf. Now then, let me start this short tale. Cyrus was a new adventurer who happened to have his family's armor and swords passed down to him. He looks like quite the hero, doesn't he? Anyways, he looked at himself as though he was a hero and so wanted a gallant steed. One day on his journey, he ran into Galion, who was resting amongst the flowery fields of wonder. Cyrus immediately saw the unicorn and started to approach him. However... Despite Galion's beauty and cuddliness, he hated to be touched. As a matter of fact, Galion happens to be an evil unicorn. He was the only white unicorn to be tainted with an evil presence. Did I mention he was also very fast. You can see where this story is headed. Speaking of headed... Cyrus didn't stand a chance and was decapitated. Rumor has it that Galion wandered off after somehow removing his armor and added it to his treasure trove. This brings me to Tip #2 - Just because a creature appears to be nice and cuddly, doesn't mean that it is. Most of the times, the beautiful creatures are actually really jerks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tip#2 from HNGK: A Guide for New Adventurers Hope you enjoyed it. As usual C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!
  16. After receiving reinforcements and supplies, we sent a building team towards the Qar-Akhen river. We figured it would be best to establish a small place close to a water source. Though the majority of the fort appears finished, our work is far from over. We have a good lookout point over the river, and in a couple of days we should have plenty of supplies. Our healer, Lukan, doesn't seem to like the location. He continues to speak of these desert bandits, but I've assured him that our men will watch this location carefully. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <Bad Pictures ahead sorry> Overall MOC Soldiers guarding Lower view of the front Side View Back View With any luck, I'll be able to continue putting this together, but this is what I've got so far. 17. Welcome to Eurobricks!!! The MOC is pretty good and has some solid minifig combinations, but I'd like to see more pictures of the building behind it.
  18. Araya joined the BLG after it had become renowned across the lands. Like several other guild members, Araya is a paladin. However, she is skilled in healing and blessing making her more akin to a battle cleric than an actually priest. Out of all the healers in the BLG, she is usually on the frontline with other warriors. As a paladin, Araya also follows a Lawful Good alignment, and she is generally one to try following good whenever possible. 19. I like the use of the heroica axes as a gate decoration. The snow layering is also seems pretty good as well! Keep it up!
  20. Seeing as how I literally just started, I'll probably hang around for a while. When August hits and I return to college I'll probably disappear (at least my MOC's). Then I'll come back during breaks with some MOC's.
  21. Greetings fellow adventurers! Over many travels, I have seen great adventurers and pathetic adventurers. Now, not all of them were good guys; some of them were evil, but great none the less. However, after seeing countless failures, I figure it was about time to share some wisdom to beginners. I hope you find these tips useful, because you never know when knowing how not to get killed will help you. Anyways, let me begin with Tip #1 This is Billy the Bandit. Before I continue, let me tell you a bit about him. Billy was not a good kid; he constantly stole from the cookie jar, tipped over cows, and laughed at the poor (despite being a peasant himself). One day, his village kicked him out and forbade him to return. The only thing he had with him was a pair of clothes and his trusty rusty dagger. With that, he figured he would become an adventurer. The only problem was that he didn't know how to actually help people so instead he became more of a bandit adventurer. Now back to the matter at hand As you can clearly see, Billy is rushing towards someone hoping to rob them blind. Unfortunately... These are experienced adventurers. To make matters worse, they are all in plate armor, which would easily laugh at rusty weapons if it had a mouth to laugh. Also, the lead of the group heard him running through the bushes and is now facing him. I almost forgot to tell you, Billy is not necessarily too smart either. Seeing as how he's been spotted... well you know what comes next. This introduces Tip #1 - As a beginner, if you decide to become a bandit, it helps not to attack the most heavily armored looking travelers until you gain some experience or for that matter have good equipment. Doing so will most likely result in your immediate expulsion from life. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the How Not to Get Killed (HNGK: A Guide for New Adventurers). I just wanted to create something I could maybe get a couple of laughs from. Stay tuned for Tip #2 As usual Decals by Saber-Scorpion C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!
  22. Saleena was also one of the earliest members to join the BLG. Unlike traditional magic users, she is skilled in the dark arts (uses necromancy, shadow, and demonic magic) and also relies heavily upon arcane magic. Her prowess as a witch is almost unmatched; only a few warlocks or old wizards are capable of channeling as much magic as her. Saleena stands out from the majority of the guild by typically having a more neutral evil alignment. In general, it's best not to get on her bad side. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Overall MOC Chicken Hex!!! 23. The Black Lance Guild (BLG for short) is a fantasy guild I created several years ago comprising of 25 members. They are somewhat of a heroes guild, but not everyone is necessarily a "good" guy. To make a long story short, they are a faction I made in the fantasy world I created roughly about 7 years ago.
  24. Not all members of the BLG are specialized in some form of combat. Aurellia is a skilled priestess of Leik, and joined the BLG well after it had been established. She utilizes holy magic to form healing spells and special blessing for fellow guild members. Aurellia is frequently seen healing and calling upon Leik's light to improve any that are around her. As a priestess, she is a virtuous and charitable person; it is not uncommon to see her telling stories to young ones or trying to bring more people to the light. Right Hand: Staff of Healing Light Armor: Robe of Divine Blessing --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall MOC Side View Back View Member 8/25 Hope you all enjoyed another BLG Profile As usual Decals by Saber-Scorpion C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!!
  25. A good ol' medieval shake down. The MOC does quite the good job of telling a rather dark story. I wonder who's responsible for the skeleton in the basement?
