Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Faefrost replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I don't believe they have ever mentioned the 12 regeneration limit in the modern era? So it may not still be cannon. Even if it was, wasn't it implied at the minimum, that the Doctors timer was reset during the Tom Baker Key of Time story arc? (Plus the master is quite a few regenerations past 12 at this point.) -
You mean Beelbu, FrooDoo and Eelroond?

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Faefrost replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hmmm? I wonder if we will see a Robin minifig that uses one of the newer dual color capes? Black on the outside and yellow on the inside? -
2 sets I do predict we will see for 2014, based on the new series. A Ralph McQuarrie style X Wing, with the narrow nose and D shaped intakes. And a new Tantive IV.
-
Well that's kinda the beauty of using Thrawn should they choose to. He appears in the books as a Grand Admiral. So he must have had some earlier career in the Imperial Navy. Just as TCW made fairly good limited use of Tarkin, without conflicting with anything from ANH, we can see an earlier Thrawn story with him as a tactically brilliant antagonist. Agreed. I always thought that the perfect way to extend TCW would be to jump the story forward, past RotS, and turn it into a Rise of the Empire series. I just never thought they would ever actually do it.

I want a half dozen of the Mouth of Sauron Minifigs just for the head. So many delightfully horrifying MOC possibilities. They are perfect for some of this seasons Dr. Who villains as well.

I think you are missing something important here? With this announcement TCW did not end incomplete. It jumped forward over RotS. TCW really only had another season left in it. It was limited by the amount of quickly decreasing time between the current TCW story arc and RotS. RotS is always the conclusion to TCW. The only question was some of the non PT and OT characters story arcs. Asohka Rex, Fives, Hondo, Cad Bane, Ventriss, Maul, etc. Disney XD wanted a more open ended show. This solves that problem and still allows them to give us the resolution to the TCW stories.

I suspect that there will bad news for you in that regard. The last place we see R2 and Threepio in RotS is aboard the Tantive IV, in the possession of Bail Organna. The First place we ever meet R2 and C3PO is aboard the Tantive IV, in the possession of Leia Organna, in Star Wars (sigh! Episode IV ANH. Bleah!) So it is safe to assume that they remain with the Organna household for the intervening 17 years. And we know that Bail Organna is central to the formation of the Rebellion. Figure the droids are the best positioned to be featured. Some positive stuff we may get to see. - Bounty Hunters. With it being open season on Jedi, figure they can easily use any of the known Bounty Hunter characters. We will probably get to see Boba Fett don the armor. Cad Bane is too cool a character to ignore. - Leia as a bit more than a hostage. Depending on where in that 17 year scale this is set, we may see Leia in that audience and new fan POV role that Asokha had in TCW. She would be a young rebel. Don't forget she was the one smuggling the Death Star plans in ep IV. We may see her as a real active female lead. - What happened to some fan favorite Clones? Particularly Rex and Fives. Do they become Stormtroopers? Rebels? Something else? - the horrible bloody, gruesome and hopefully painful death of JarJar Binks... Please? I'm begging here? Sarlac Pit maybe? - this time period would give them a nice slot to fit in an official Thrawn story arc or appearance without conflicting with the books, EU, new movies etc. - Obi Wan was watching over Luke during this period. But why would they be just watching Luke? Leia was Luke's twin. Both the children of the most powerful Jedi ever. The Jedi did not seem concerned with male, female or other in who they handed a Lightsaber to. So they would not have simply bet on Luke. Who was watching and guarding Leia? The possibilities are just so many.

(My apologies I am not sure whether to put this here or under the "Future Star wars sets" thread, as it deals with a pretty clear suggestion of which way they will probably be going with the next to be announced winter wave?) Well this is unexpected http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82660 2014 will give us a new television series Star Wars Rebels. I think we now have a much better idea of what sorts of sets we will be seeing for the 2014 waves. Ralph McQuarrie'esq transitional stuff from between RoTS and ANH. (probably a safe bet that we will finally see at a minimum, a Bail Organa minifig of some sort.)

Dear Disney, re: Cancelation of The Clone Wars All is forgiven! We still love you! I think they found the point where the classic fans and the modern TCW fans finally intersect. Post episode 3. The rise of the Empire. The rise of the Rebellion. We still get to see more recent characters from TCW, especially those with unfinished stories. We expand on the OT environment that we have known and loved for so long. I am a Happy Nerd!

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, Times Square-edition Press Kit
Faefrost replied to BobaCon's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think those let you combine it with another press set to make the full bowl shaped room. -
Can we agree on a fair compromise for all potential sides? Make it a Corner Modular Mos Eisley Cantina, complete with Band.
-
The Genedy Tartakovski animated shorts? They actually did make a few sets based on it. The best example is the 7676 Republic Gunship. The Obi Wan and Ventriss from that set are from the 2003 show.
-
well yes. If we are actually paying attention to star wars cannon and chronology. But the cutesey lego animated sw shows are not exactly known for that are they? Not saying thats a bad thing. The lego shows poke fun at it all in an entertaing way. Besides. If you want to get really technical about it. Yoda fid know who and where Leia was. Whos to say he never taught her history?

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

They have a new movie in production, and have started to announce the casting. Which has caused some nerd raging Internet controversy along with counter cries of Racism. Michael B. Jordan has been announced as the Human Torch. Based on that I am going to bet that we will not be seeing any FF Lego subjects anytime soon, since there will be very conflicting visual looks between the classic comic versions and whatever they are putting in the new movie. -

They were sent to journalists and reviewers that had attended a certain event at the NY Toy Fair. These are journalist and reviewer swag. -
Seeing as they gave us a young child Han Solo with the Padawan Menace, maybe that child Padawan fig is a young Leia?

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, Times Square-edition Press Kit
Faefrost replied to BobaCon's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think we can guarantee that it won't be the Ewok Village. No matter how hard we try and imagine that set, They will not do the "Largest Lego Set ever" on what amounts to a big tree house. It may be a big set. Even close to the Death Star size. But they still would not need it to be that big to accomplish what they need it to. The only real option for a set that I can see would be Marshall's UCS Sandcrawler project, which if made would be the largest Lego set ever made, but was so rich and detailed and distinct that they might actually consider it. (Heck isn't that essentially how we got the last "Biggest set ever" the UCS Falcon? A designer basically built it in his office as a personal project and they fell in love with it?). That could also allow for the R2 dome. But I agree with the above. It's probably a full scale or half scale X Wing display and not a set. They did an X Wing like they did Bag End. (PS does anyone else really want a kit of the real world scale Bag End to put in their backyard?) -
I think Yoda's head has to be the softer rubber because of the thin and pointy ears.

it was uploading and starting the suits control software. Its bios or if you will proto jarvis.

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, Times Square-edition Press Kit
Faefrost replied to BobaCon's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm worried that they refer to it as "the worlds largest Lego model", and not "kit" or "set". This could mean it is some sort of huge Star Wars related display in Times Square, and not an actual retail kit. -
Of those three I would go with Grand Emporium as the first choice. It is the oldest and the closest to retirement. It has some great details and construction techniques.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

The problem is Legos set choices aren't really geared towards the long time collector. Of DC subjects Batman sells insanely better than anything else. Batman goes best with Lego because of the vehicles, and fans expect certain classic Batman vehicles. The same for the Star Wars sets. We might not want a 4th Millenium Falcon, but for most of their purchasers and target audience that one is their first. -

For that specific picture Maybe this Friends piece in dark brown? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92255 Or this in black http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92256 For the way Bariss appears in the TCW show, when we see he hair? Maybe this? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4530 if it comes in a more reddish brown? -
I'm gonna go with "the FX were mainly done, before those lines were added". Which seems to be the most common way those mess ups occur.
