Erik jumps onto the axe's head and runs up the shaft Erik steps to the side as Nagure's axe comes down, and then runs past to stab at Nagure with his spear from the front row. "Bring it, Mr Slow." Yeah, stuff being realistic. But at that size, I probably could.

I, Erik Tyrvarr (Myrddyn), would like to challenge Nagure (Costy), to a duel! (OOC: Boldened after post 528)
-
Genius idea! Crossbow sword! So it doesn't work for Syntax then?
-
"Ah Nagure, your axe is bigger than you are. And your not exactly small." "Want to test it out in the arena?"
-
Yeah, this one: http://bionicle.wikia.com/wiki/Axonn Agreed. I like the chains, too.

As Erik walks over to the bar to get some more hot chocolate, he notices two quests on the questboard. "Hmm, those Maa'ri guys. I read a bit about them in the library, having their family abducted by psychopathic zealots. Much as I'd like to help them, in my current state I probably wouldn't be strong enough to do much. Best to leave that quest to some more experienced heroes, but I suppose a lot of them are of on other quests, and my help would be better than no help at all." Erik mutters, as he signs up for Quest #35: Rescue the Maa’ri!. "What's this other one? Some fashion person? Gone mad? Probably all the mercury they use in their felt. Sounds more like a job for a doctor than heroes, but I need to be strong enough to help other people like those Maa'ri. I'll sign up for that one, too." He signs up for Quest #36: Bad Hair Day. As he does, a man with a crossbow and green hat walks over and greets him. "Oh hello, sir," he replies.

Erik walks into the hall. He sees Mizuki has finally gotten some hot chocolate and is sharing it with the heroes who had recently returned from rescuing The Lost Children, and goes over to join them. He sees that Sorrow has fallen asleep, and there is a note on the table near him, saying not to wake him up. Instead he turns to Mizuki. "Thanks for the hot chocolate, and for backing me up against Syntax. You fought well back there, against those guardians." He looks at Nagure, and chuckles. "As for you, while I may have some problem with your morals, or rather lack of them, at least you can be trusted to do what you are being paid for. And you aren't bad in a fight."
-
Erik stops by the marketplace on his way back to the hall. He walks straight to the blacksmiths. "Hey Mr, my names Erik." 'My names Anwyl. I'm a dwarf. Were you just stopping to talk, or did you want something?' I've heard your good at making and improving weapons. Do you think you could strengthen this spear a bit, and maybe put a spike on just under the head, here? Oh, and while your at it, could you paint it to stop it getting rusty?" 'Sure, but it wouldn't be cheap. 300 gold. I'll have it ready by this evening.' "Lucky I've got enough, then." Erik hands over 300 gold. (60+70+80+90 for upgrading a spear from WP5 to WP 9) "I'll stop by later to pick it up, thanks, Mr Anwyl." gold before: 307. gold after: 7

Yeah Rumblestrike, It was a great quest in general. The pictures were great, the fun was great. The players arguing and confusing everything was great too, though using the large definition rather than the good definition. Sorry about that... I especially liked the flexibility, in the dark room and with the Maginastra. I liked the Maginastra, too. Great beard and staff, and I hope he makes an appearance in a later quest.

"Yes, thanks, Mr Hlin! Glad I didn't have to fight you guys." -
Yeah, Mizuki said it. But where would you flee too? You'd have to run through the whole house, and the Maginastra could just remove the door, like he did with all those realms, where we could only go in them once.

"Now it's just you, Drake. Surely you won't try and fight us all?" OOC: Can we assume xxlrocka, if he were online, wouldn't still want to fight? -

Myrddyn replied to Rumble Strike's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Yeah! Go Nagure! C'mon Drake and Syntax, you can't win now. There is no need for violence." OOC: Aw, but now both the barbarians are on the same team, I want a fight! -

Myrddyn replied to Rumble Strike's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Thank you for your understanding, Hlin. I am fully prepared to leave here with all of us heroes intact, but only if no-one insists on killing the Maginastra." "Alright, Syntax, Drake and Nagure. Even Hlin, who had his daughter taken by the Maginastra, has been able to forgive him. Surely you guys, who have lost nothing because of the maginastra, and in fact have even improved your fighting skills against his creations, and gained money and new equipment, can forgive him also?" EDIT/OOC: (after post 473) Yeah, that was really for xxlrocka, but he's offline. If he steps down, surely you guys aren't still gonna want to try and fight? -

"I'm sorry, good sir, I did not mean to villainize you for bidding, merely to vilify you for being a murderous psychopath. If you are concerned about the Maginastra going against what he said and abducting the children again, we could get him to swear an oath. He's a magic user, and I'd think they would have pretty nasty consequences for breaking oaths." "Oh, and Drake, he did more or less say he regrets taking the children. And you could always just not join in the fight on either side. He said 'You have all helped open my eyes, especially this cloaked Barbarian here. I have been misguided'" -

"We aren't going against Hlin. He hired us to rescue the children, and we have done that. He didn't hire us to kill the Maginastra." -
Heroica RPG - Quest 32: The Lost Children
Myrddyn replied to Rumble Strike's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Well, Drake, I will try and summarise this. We have found the children and completed the quest, right? The Maginastra was the guy who took the children, but he did it to protect them from an army led by an evil mage and his evil assistant who are trying to take over the world. The Maginastra has seen the error of his ways, and promised not to repeat his actions. But Syntax (may his limbs rot off), being the crazy psychopath that he is, has decided to murder him anyway. He is paying Nagure more than we would, so Nagure is fighting with him. Drake, since your a knight, I suppose that means your going to come over to join me and Mizuki?" OOC: Hey Endgame, I don't suppose that 'A vein pulsed in my left hand, my dominant one. I needed to keep my cool, lest I want another heart attack.' means that if Erik insults Syntax enough, he will have a heart attack? -

"Should'ave added psychopathy to the list. What do ya think you've got, Mr undead? Second life, Second chance. I'm sure your life hasn't been lived perfectly. You'd have made mistake before. You've gotten second chances. Anyway, what defines him as a criminal? Hlin, Do you think the Maginastra should be killed, knowing as you do that while he did the wrong thing, he did it for a good reason. If you, who had your daughter taken by him, can find it in your heart to forgive him, or at least refrain from murdering him, surely the rest of you so-called 'heroes will follow suit?" -

Myrddyn replied to Rumble Strike's topic in The Heroica Archive
"So what exactly am I bidding against? Airy-fairy promises of things you have no guarantee of getting? Does 20 gold beat those empty promises? And I will throw in my mead and remedy if you join on this side. Sure the total value of my offer is a bit less than Syntax's, but mine is guaranteed." -

Erik is silent for a while, looking at the floor. He looks up at Nagure. "How much gold?
