  1. I'd have thought summons using the Zirconia would summon the same creature as would be summoned with a normal gem. I don't think using the Zirconia makes a difference.
  2. "Aren't birthdays just the anniversary of the day you were born?"
  3. "Who goes first now? If it's me again, I'll put down a 2." Although he isn't aware of anyone in particular having a birthday, Erik wanders over to a wall and sticks up a sign that says Happy Birthday!
  4. I don't suppose you could just have people draw something, on a program or freehand, scan it to a computer and upload to some site, and just link to it? Happy Birthday Sandy! Thanks for taking the time to moderate this great game!
  5. 4 guesses for Endgames scientific names: And while I'm at it, if we go back to page 587, post #8794, http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58807&st=8790
  6. Erik hadn't yet opened the book, though he was about to. "No, I'll stick to alcohol. But better to have people with clean syringes than dirty ones. It was some kind of drug, I'd say. But if I just destroy the thing, he's only going to inject himself with something dirty. I can't stop him taking drugs, without following him around all the time. Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to see what this book says. Some weird ghostly chap gave it to me while we were looking for those children, and I'd completely forgotten about it. Not that I don't want to talk with you, just I don't want to forget about this book again."
  7. Erik gets up and crosses over to Drake. He grabs the used syringe, and crosses over to the bar to stick it in a cork, so he doesn't accidentally stab himself until he has gotten around to sterilising it properly. As he does so, he faintly smells some of the herbs in the drink of the darkly-garbed figure. "I used to know a bit about those plants" he mutters. "Though that was all before I discovered the wonders of alcohol." He rummages through his pouch, trying to see if he still has any of his notes on plants. He doesn't find anything, though he does find a large book. "Oh, this thing. How the heck did it fit in there?" he asks, of no-one in particular, as he returns to the table with the drunk card-players. As he waits for Nagure to figure out how to hold his cards in his huge hands, he opens the book and begins to read.
  8. Quest title: The Boat Race. Assignment: A race is planned between the Bonapartes and an experimental Ji Pei boat. We need both boats to be protected from any misfortune that they may encounter. ~ Barnaby, mediator between the Bonapartes and Ji Pei. Party Requirements: A total of six heroes, between about level 5 and 10. Reward: 100 gold each, and a bonus of 100 gold to the heroes on the winning boat. Should be a pretty short quest. In hosting, I will just assume that the two boats can communicate with each other via semaphore or something, and deal with both teams in the same thread (though in different colours). I have planned 5 fights, and 3 riddles/problems to solve to hopefully make up for the lack of thinking required in the rest of the quest. A dice will be rolled at the end of each game-day. Whichever team wins the battle first (least amount of rounds) has 2 added to their dice roll for that day, or 3 for solving a riddle first. At the end of the 7th day, the team with the highest total of dice rolls wins. It should all be fairly straight forward (aside from keeping the teams seperate), with not much (no) scope for going off the main path, but hopefully the competition between the two teams will make up for that. It's not finished yet, but I thought I should put this up in case it doesn't fit with your plan for the Bonapartes and the Ji Pei.
  9. "Mizuki, your turn!" Erik stands up and crosses to the questboard. "Hmm... I'm good at jumping. Especially out windows." Erik signs up for Quest #36: The Voracious Vault. "Ooh, Vermin. I hope I don't meet Syntax."
  10. "Huh. I'll go 5." Erik puts down his card numbered 5. "Nice to have you back, Sorrow. The answer to your question is, as always, lots."
  11. "Ah, hello, Mizuki! Alchohol tastes much better with friends!" Erik glares at Syntax. "And enemies. But best with just friends. So give Sorrow back, please."
  12. Erik leaps up, and swings a punch at Syntax. Unfortunately, in his drunken state, he misses, and falls out the window. He lands in a puddle of water, and this, combined with his natural barbaric healing abilities, is enough to mostly sober him up. He re-enters the hall through the door, and crosses over to Syntax and Nagure. "Alright, I'll play your card-game, Syntax. Where has Sorrow gotten to? He's much nicer than you." "Oh, and it probably would be your fault, if only I could remember what I was talking about. Where do you get off anyway, appointing yourself judge and executioner of everyone?"
  13. "I can drink quite a bit. I've forgotten how much I've all *hic* already had, though. It's all $#^$% Syntax's fault." Erik tries to take another drink, and succeeds on the third try.
  14. Erik calls out a window to Sorrow/Syntax: "It's that barbarian guys dragon. Maybe he should fight Drake. How's it concern you anyway, Sorrow? Unless you're Syntax at the moment, which, as he does seem to me to be a murderous lunatic (no offence to you, Sorrow), makes perfect sense." Erik turns to Nagure: "Don't be a *hic* hypocrite, Nagure. You're telling off Drake for drinking, and then you're drinking yourself?" Erik grabs the drink out of Nagre's hand, and finishes it off. He then goes and gets more alcohol for Drake, Nagure and himself.
  15. Sandy (and any other QMs) - I don't suppose Thug could be unlocked by failing a certain amount of quests? Potentially having heroes trying to fail quests would be... interesting. Probably wouldnt work, just throwing up the idea. zakura - Not cocoa-mancer? Revised Thug: Changes: Intimidation has been replaced by Look At Me! - When the Thug is first in the battle order, he gets the enemies attention, giving his allies more time to prepare their attacks (This makes all allies LUCKY). Natural Respite has been replaced by Concealed Blade - Thugs can replace an artifact with a dagger and get extra power equal to the weapon power of the dagger. (e.g, for a critical hit - WP 15 x 2[=30] + Level 30[=60] + WP 7 [dagger]) =67 Ability to use daggers (as primary weapons) has been removed. Stunned effect for critical hits has been removed. Comments and stuff welcome.
  16. "So, you fight for fun and to get money? No other reason?"
  17. "So, why do you want to fight? Just to prove you can beat me? Do you enjoy it? Not that I don't want a good fight, but why do you want a rematch?"
  18. "Maybe, but only if you can find a reason to beat me. You don't get gold or xp from arena battles, after all. I will look forward to that day."
  19. Emerging from the arena, Erik stops by the bar and grabs two beers. Tossing one to Nagure, he says: "See Nagure, we are about evenly matched in fighting skills, but I won that battle because I have a reason to fight. You can't fight as well if you just fight for yourself."
  20. "Thanks Mr Arimees!" "Good fight, Nagure! Lets go get a drink!" Erik walks out of the arena.
  21. Through a window in the arena, Erik sees Drake fly to the hall's entrance on a dragon, and his voice booms out, loudly enough to be heard in the hall: "Somehow, I'm not surprised Drake knows something about dragons. I mean, his name is Drake, and he seems to have something of an affinity to fire, with that torch of his." A while later, he twitches, and mutters: "Aaw !&^@%, why do I have a feeling Syntax is back?"
  22. I would argue that a spoiler tag is just a button that must be clicked.

Also, Question about DRAGOON: Pet dragon; If you become a Dragoon at level 30, but then change to something else at, say, level 35, then change back to Dragoon at level 90, what happens with the chance for the dragon to disobey orders?
  24. OOC: Nagure is attacking Erik from the front row with his axe, Erik is attacking Nagure from the front row with his spear. If everyone is busy and can't host the fight, that's fine, I just thought I should clarify, in case it got lost or something.
  25. Oh right. I assumed you were swinging it at Erik's side. Not down onto his head. Alright, I'll cross that out.
