During 2001-2002 when the pirate sets were re-released, the newest, Red Beard Runner and Armada Flagship at 5 years, while the oldest was Black Seas Barracuda at 12 years.

Just out of curiosity, why is that? Asking because minifigs go far in attracting more attention to MOCs.

Makes sense! As a matter of housekeeping, how about we merge all these North Star topics together? Individually, they don't seem to be attracting a large enough response for a new topic for each update, but if we had a single Work In Progress topic covering the entire build, that would keep the build progress in one convenient place.

Apparently the sets old sets they reissued back in the early 2000's didn't sell that great prompting them to not reissue any more in the future. But perhaps the situation is different now, given almost two decades has past and the cost of these older sets is significantly higher on the secondary market, than it was back then.

The crew was a the pub... Seems like some of them have sobered up now.... Nor can I! Does anybody actually do that?

Welcome back, Greg! That's a nice little creation of Peggy you've built there. Fully accessorised and you've included minifigs - even though this is technically a microscale built. Nice work!

Is a fine craft to be sure - but minifigs don't look piratey enough! Also needs a monkey.
