  1. What do you call "reasonably" priced? Very unlikely you'll get a complete Skulls Eye Schooner which is in good condition for less than US$150 these days. 310 Euros is about $510 Australian dollars - you really had half a grand to spend on a Skulls Eye Schooner Zuloo?
  2. I'd certainly buy and copy or two... Or three or four... Ahhhhh... So that's what they are. Yes, they're very effective. First time I've seen this nifty trick!
  3. A Pirates of the Caribbean game online? Which game do you mean? I'm not very game savvy so I probably won't have heard of it.
  4. Tribal warfare was a common thing, particularly in the Americas. The Incas for example, none of their neighbouring tribes liked them and they were only too happy to assist the Imperial Armada to conquer them. More about that in A Guide to the Mini-Figures Part V. (shameless plug)
  5. No definitely not! It's a pity there's not a few more pictures of this diorama because I'd be interested in a closer look of the "shoreline". It appears to be using a couple of those baseplates.
  6. Is it just me or do Brick-Built birdies don't look so good? As cleverly as they are designed they don't really maintain that LEGO-animal aesthetic and look as though they're intended to be ornamental rather than organic, living creatures.
  7. 2 weeks and not one post in the RPG thread! Shall I assume there's not enough interest from dedicated participants and bury it?
  8. Anybody in the UK want to expand their Blue Coat Army? Here are some eBay auctions that will definitely help! eBay Auction #1 eBay Auction #2 eBay Auction #3 eBay Auction #4
  9. Jaudeau's Large Class entry seems to be quite popular... I can see why too. It definitely has that aura of a Classic set though I can't help but feel there's too much black. Perhaps the structure on the right could have been a darker shade of brown or gray. Nonetheless it hits all the right spots design wise!
  10. Thanks for pointing this out. I shall confer with the other administrators in regards to its newsworthiness.
  11. Click here to vote for your favourite creation!
  12. Ahhhhhhhh Spain - birthplace of the mighty Inquisition!
  13. Definitely too many pieces to be an Impulse set but it does appear to be a highly entertaining vignette!
  14. ZCerberus and I have agreed his comments read better when revised to this:
  15. Dear QuartermasterRobert, to be an "awesome review writer" you must evaluate both the negative and positive aspects of the subject of review. It appears you've focused mainly upon the negative, so are you indicating that you can't find anything positive to write about the creations you did not vote for? If not, you are entitled to your opinions but just remember the public never takes kindly to critics who pan everything. So if you can find a positive word or two about the entries then I'd recommend you share them.
  16. Yes, do tell us, for we have become curious and we crave information! Oh do we crave information.
  17. You are indeed an officer and a gentleman sir!
  18. Since the user who posted this question doesn't intend to hang round we might as well merge them.
  19. This is an awesome vignette! I think it's frontpage material for Classic-Pirates.com! Are there any more pictures? I'd love to see some closeups and differently angles.
  20. I think there's already thread on this topic somewhere within the forum - does anybody remember it?
  21. The more I see - the more I like! This has potential to be a great set with plenty of innovations! That compartment at the back of the boat is something different and the rotating cell door are certainly features the Pirate theme hasn't seen before.
  22. Phred needs some more testimonials so get writing! Just make sure your words are accurate and sincere.
  23. What a shame because that looks like it would make a great SYSTEM set. Baseplate is probably a bit big though - if it were an actual set I'd reckon two different baseplates would be used.
  24. Fat Tony's presentation is exceptionally good! We'll have to offer him a job at Classic-Pirates.com after this.
  25. About a month ago, in the 10191 Star Justice Review thread I wrote: So from my perspective the revised price seems much fairer.
