Ahh haaa! This is the kind of picture I was hoping to see! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3370/365517...aaf4a4b.jpg?v=0 Thank you for sharing Ben

I always knew the mini-figure to be Captain Roger too so it takes a bit of getting used to this Nothern Americian "Captain Redbeard" I've now come to suspect they are identical twin brothers!

Since this is a MOC thread shouldn't it be in the Pirate MOC Forum?
-
Actually it was Bonaparte who found it but I would be curious to see this particular MOC from different angles. It somewhat intrigues me.

Any Idea When the Next Pirate Sets will be announced?
Mister Phes replied to Dr. Steve's topic in LEGO Pirates
Speaking as someone whose head of state is the Queen of England I think the British are very evil But a few more decent red coat sets would be quite pleasing! This thread is a bit off topic aint it? -
I'm sure you'll rectify that in the very near future then.
-
Those photos were taken by the MOC builder, Brian Darrow I believe. Captain Zuloo should have credited Mr Darrow in the first post and News Item on Classic-Pirates.com.

What do you want to see in the next round of the new line?
Mister Phes replied to martinsuper's topic in LEGO Pirates
Blue coats in the future yes, but there's barely been much red coat activity yet. Only 2 sets technically - equivalent to that of the Imperial Armada. I think we need to see some decent red coat sets before moving onto the blue coats. I agree with ye laddie! What makes you guess civilian sets? There may never have civilian sets in the Pirate theme! But we could push for a Dutch Merchants theme with the East India Company sometime in the future! -
Cutlass to foreshadow a return of the Pirate Theme?
Mister Phes replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yes, the cutlass did indeed foreshadow a return of the Pirate Theme! -
How would the LEGO Group know people were buying the Crystal Skull set just for one piece? They'd need to conduct a survey or have their Ambassadors watch forum discussions really closely, but that doesn't seem pratical. Either way, it's not realistic for people to buy a large set JUST for one piece when they could order it from BrickLink.

Bluecoat in LEGO Battles trailer!
Mister Phes replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in LEGO Pirates
This is an interesting possibility Rick. However, we know the new red coats have been floating around since this time last year and I suspect changing the colour of the soldiers in LEGO Battles is something that could be accomplished months before the release of the game. So perhaps the soldiers in LEGO battles were originally red but changed to blue after the release of the 2009 Pirate sets. -
I see a brick birdie! It kinda looks like a chicken though... Yes, I definitely see the SlyOwl inspiration and it's quite a good attempt given you're not usually an active MOCer. The new pirates versus the old soldiers and one very distressed damsel!

I haven't visited the forum in a few weeks so I'm a bit behind on the latest happenings...

The illustrations are excellent! This Hound Knight should be pressed ganged into our crew!

Where have all the pirate sets gone in Australia?
Mister Phes replied to Melbourne pirate fan '87's topic in LEGO Pirates
If they've been release in stores it's strange that not many of the Impulse sets have appeared on eBay Australia. Usually a new LEGO release saturates the search results. Not to worry, I'll just order a few from Bricks To The World... -
Pirate LEGO was initially released in 1989, so this year is the 20th anniversary, but if make 2014 then it would be the 25th anniversary. As for the new sets... I don't think they're worse than the sets released in 1996 and 1997, but they're certainly not in the league of the pre 1994 Pirate sets. In the 2009 Pirate Set Impressions thread I evaluated exactly what I liked and disliked about the new sets. But to summarise, it's a good start but there is plenty of room for improvement in future releases.

Which Toyworld did you find them in? I went to a Toyworld the other day and they only had the second wave of 2008 Impulse sets. -
BrickFair Pirates theme - It's a super-trippy experience!

Thank you Captain Zuloo! I'll tweak the title and description to see if that stimulates some interest. -
You need to get a large swimming pool in the backyard...
-
Captain Zuloo raises a good point - some people can't buy more because the sets aren't even released in their region yet. I suspect it means your understanding of back orders is very limited.
-
Apparently the Impulse sets are be released ahead of the larger sets in some regions.

They are the most delicious looking Imperial Guards I've seen in a long time! Interesting you've used "Do you want more Pirates in the Snow?" as the poll title because there aren't actually any pirates in those pictures. In fact, I don't think I've never seen Pirate LEGO in the snow (excluding certain artwork ) so you could be breaking new ground if you use Pirate mini-figures next time.
