Yes, the Heroes are the same price. So, apparently there is now a drawing contest with Stormer and FURNO (not Blaze UGH) as well as a HF lanyard and notebook as prizes. Woo?
-
I also got Mutran & Vican for $15. Before the 2008 price shift, obviously. So, I would assume that this set will be $20.
-
And Stringer's weapon. So, he has NO hands. :| Bulk - As in Duncan Bulk. As Bfahome already said, just a fancy L. So. Vapour has two launchers. And a... Chirox claw? Huh. And Bulk has two weapon arms. I'm actually pleasantly surprised by this set. :D

No, they aren't. They're just broken off. You can even see the little stub that's still there here. Removable the same way the rubber part of the Hordika weapons were. So I'm liking Corroder more every time there are new pictures. Meltdown seems to have started to fall apart in this picture... hope that isn't a problem w/ the set (Rubber tubes pushing off the green cone-like things on his shoulders). Thunder is going to be awesome, but I'll need to rearrange his armor. XPlode is still just basic and awesome. Still gonna pass on Von Nebula, as well as Drop Ship. Rotor is actually looking pretty good. I'll probably do a small modification so his rotors can actually fold up like in this pic (because of a misbuild).

They aren't the same, but very close, as you can see here (large image) Man, how long is it gonna take for these sets to come out? I guess I'm too used to BIONICLE's 2-3 month early releases. Last year the Legends were found at the end of May. :|

Or maybe 7, or else Xplode has 3. There are a combined total of 9 between the two. I can't find the 9th. HAHA NEVERMIND I was looking at the... neck area wrong. Anyway, I love how this creation of Bink's just shows off how many of them there are. I can see from this that the villain generic weapon holder / shield piece / arm / whatever you can call it will be very useful. Also, Corroder's claws are awesome, and Xplode has a serious case of doublemouth. This MoC has excited me about HF again :D

Telluris seems so much like a child in this episode. I love it.
-
Meltdown doesn't have a Glatorian head. What. (look to the far right, his face is attached to a basic ball socket) Also, finally I know how the armor on Corroder's back is attached. One of these. Awesome. ALSO Furno Bike has two! launchers! :D (look between the wheel and the orange bohrok tooth on the far side)
-
Guys, I just realized there are some cool new pieces that I hadn't seen before! There's a shortened piston axle (with a cap on the end, like used on the legs of titans and such), and a neat piece that attaches Corroder's launcher to his upper arm as seen here. Maybe the one attaching to his arm isn't new, but it's certainly new to me xD Also, Corroder is definitely awesome.

Another gallery has opened, with more high quality pictures here. Missing pics of Meltdown and Thunder, but other than that great pics. EDIT: You can see on the pics of Rotor and Corroder that they are stickers here, here, and here.

I agree with the Cendox bit, although I haven't picked it up yet >.< And, honestly, price-to-parts for me is not so much of an issue as the quality of the set, primarily the price-to-size. I think the Furno Bike looks like it would be a $30 set. Drop Ship doesn't quite as much, but I dunno. That's awesome. I'm a little surprised they'd put that in there. Thunder, Meltdown, Corroder, and XPlode are all at $12.99. I can see that now, in the newer pics :D EDIT: I also just noticed Von Nebula uses a Phantoka torso! Woot! :D

Oh I love these. I absolutely do. Gonna go ahead and do a quick review of opinions: Corroder: My opinion of Corroder has completely turned around since I saw the first pic of him (same w/ XPlode, but in the opposite direction). Maybe it's just the pose he has on the box, but I like the idea of this guy climbing up walls. He fits it very well. His back is much more armored than his front, so maybe he's designed to stay low to the ground. Also, he has so many tri-pronged pieces. I love the new armor piece, and the massive claws (six of them! :D). He's probably my favorite of the medium sized sets. Not sure on how his Thornax is attached though. XPlode: This was probably my favorite when I saw the first pics, aside from maybe Thunder. Now he just looks sad. The Glatorian hands look so out of place on him. I like the large claws that everyone else has. But. I still don't know how his torso is constructed. Also, he has two more of the tri-pronged pieces. And the yellow to red Krika leg piece. And three of the spiked armor pieces. And I'm a fan of his stockier build. Thunder: Not quite sure if I like Corroder or Thunder better. Both are awesome. I am still probably in favor of Corroder, though. Thunder has a lot of the same feel as Onua Mistika, except more awesome. However, the shoulder that has Inika shoulder armor may need modified. The current placement of the armor would impede drastically on the range of motion in the joint. I do like the whole Hordika neck elbows concept though. I would not mind seeing more of it. Meltdown: Same torso construction as XPlode? I believe so. Not sure if he has a Glatorian head underneath his helmet or not. But I like it either way. Also has the elbow structure Thunder has. I'm very curious about what appears to be shoulder armor, as well as the apparent lack of tubing on the physical set as opposed to the box art. Probably just improper construction. And I love the effect of the tentacle seeming like a tube of goo coming out of his weapon. Von Nebula: This guy had so much potential. He looked like he was going to be so amazing. And he's terrible. No elbows! On a titan sized set! Come on! I'll still probably end up buying him though, just because he has great pieces. Black Hydraxon mask. Multi colored Tridax pod. Awesome new black and blue spikes. He also sort of reminds me of a wolfman. Not entirely sure why. Rotor: I'm not sure, but I think he has EYES sculpted into his helmet. I hate that. Other than that, he seems to have the first Inika build this year. The propeller looks awesome. And orange Thornax launcher? Hell yes. Hip support cause by Metru Matoran arms? Maybe a problem. Overall, I like this guy quite a bit. Certainly more than Von Nebula. Drop Ship: Awesome. $50 awesome? Maybe not. I do like it though. Certainly better than Rockoh T3. Also, the torso even further confirms that the emblem is a separate piece. I really dislike the blue helmet & blue head combo. And the Av-Matoran arms are not what I had hoped for. I'm hoping for some cool functions on this set, but I certainly don't see any. Furno Bike: Possibly my favorite vehicle ever. A legitimate bike. After the failure of the Destral Cycle, the almost-cycle Cendox, and the cool but definitely not bike Kaxium, I want this. So badly. The Mata feet look terribly out of place though. And I'm not quite sure what shade the bike is. Orange? Keetongu yellow? Some shade b/t the two? I dunno.

He's referring to how it looks like the electricity forks on the tool in Surge's right hand.
-
I guess I'll throw in my two cents: Thunder: I don't care how simplified this guy's build is. He looks awesome. I love the claw thing in his right hand, and how the new piece is used 3 times (both hands and torso). I'm a little curious as to the construction of his arms, but he looks good. Even with Ben 10 thighs, and possibly asymmetrical shoulder armor. XPlode: This is probably the worst posed set here. I'm not sure on how the Skrall armor piece is attached to his torso, but hopefully it's more solidly than it seems in this picture. I should also add that I love the way the extra socket (that would normally be the neck) is used to add back armor. Corroder: Are his armor pieces the same as Thunder's? I think it's possible, but I'm not sure. I definitely will be leaving the stickers off, though. Anyone know what his little crotch piece is for? Because it looks entirely useless right now. Also, this guy has the most basic build imaginable. Dropship: I'm not sure if that is Crotesius's helmet or Surge's. Both have a piston there. Either way, this set looks awesome. This is probably my favorite vehicle yet. :D Furno Bike: Is he going to be Blaze or Furno? Probably Furno, seeing as that's on the box. I love how this set looks. I can't tell if the orange is legitimate orange, or the orange brown used on Pewku. Either one is great. Von Nebula: Oh my. This set looks terrible! He doesn't even have elbows! If there is one set I'm missing this year, it's this one. I'm curious as to what degree this is finalized. The Hydraxon mask makes me wonder, seeing as it looks slightly altered. Rotor: This guy makes up for all of Nebula's short-comings. I love this guy. He also utilizes the new shield piece introduced by Thunder and Corroder. And I absolutely love the box art! Although I do hope he maintains the level of orange used in the actual set and not on the box art. And I hope he still has the orange Mahri tubes!

The only way those arms will end up bendable is if they are made of rubber. That is not two pieces. It's one.
-
She has the same chest piece as Blaze and Surge, I'm pretty sure. It seems to be the "rookie" chest piece.
-
I'm pretty sure he's holding two weapons, one on each side of his hand.
-
" ... his skill in manipulating his electrical shield, armor and lightning weapon ..." I'd assume those zappy things would be his lightning weapons. Which, btw, have to orientations at which they can be held. That's awesome.
-
Also they have dual weapons (even Blaze, I want to see him holding one blaster in each hand though). I'm hoping they can actually "fire" some of the weapons (specifically Stormer and Blaze), as well as remove the "H" emblem on their chests. That would be great. Similar to knocking masks off. Also I'm quite interested in Surge's "electrical shields" and I want to know if all the heroes have them. Also, the story sounds much more flexible and sounds like it would be great for the target audience. Giving structured missions for the heroes, with the possibilities for your own missions and heroes. That would be pretty neat actually.
-
So am I the only person who actually likes the Heroes? More specifically the weapon arms? I think they'll look awesome. And since I was never actually planning on using these guys for MoCs, I think that's a great thing. I mean, my favorite sets are Jimi Stringer, Preston Stormer, and Duncan Bulk.I find these guys at least as aesthetically pleasing as the Mata, only in a different way. I like the big guns :3 Also: I just noticed that it's the "Rookies" who have the same torso armor, all the others have custom armor. And the rookies don't have gun-arms.
-
Actually I think I'm out. Duncan Bulk is back up for grabs or whatever.
-
I think this could work out. I think Duncan Bulk looks like he could be interesting, so I guess I'll call dibs on him :)
-
This is what I think is most likely. The only way those pieces are bending is if they are made of rubber and I really don't want to consider that possibility
-
Woah I just realized that Duncan Bulk has a prosthetic arm or something similar o.o Also he totally looks like a bad guy. And in regards to the bendable limbs: I think there are just 3 different versions of the same limb, only with different angles. They are definitely not bendable.
-
Looking at Bulk and Surge, I think it's pretty clear that the legs are just the new prebent limbs with armor on them. armor that goes down the entire leg <3 I don't think so. But Thunder *does* have his torso armor on his "weapon" in his right hand. One piece actual torsos, yes. But armored torsos for the small sets! And at 5! different pieces of armor to use! :D This may just be me but the design for Xplode looks like a direction I want LEGO to be taking. Although Corroder and Meltdown seem to have the exact same design.... It also seems that Furno has different arms when he's on his bike. Stretched out. :D And Mata Feet. Seriously Preston Stormer is looking like the best Impulse set so far, IMO. Cool armor. Cool helmet. Awesome icey color scheme. Blue Glatorian head. He might even have a spring controlled launcher. Woooo!
