I have a semi-relevant question. I've seen posts saying that Lego has done research proving that it's products mostly appeal to boys. Can anyone tell me WHEN (what year) that research was done? If they did the studies anytime recently, of COURSE Lego appeals mostly to boys, because most of the products for QUITE a while have been directed at boys.
-
Maybe, but imagine how much more money Lego could make if they could sell City to girls just as much as boys. A few ideas for that are: -Selling more impulse-$15 range sets with females. -Including more females in sets with multiple minifigs. I'm aware that they already do this somewhat, but they could do it more. I'm sure there are flaws in those ideas, but they should do things like that a bit more with City.

That's true, but there is a compromise. The buildings could be modular restaurants like the one in the picture, but without the names and stickers of REAL companies like McDonalds.
-
You're absolutely correct. That's another one of the things I was talking about, things that are missing from a normal piece of music. When I played this "piece" on the piano (to see if somehow it WAS real) I just decided to play it as if the bottom line of this demented stave was the bottom line of a NORMAL musical stave.
-
I had a look at it, and I'm pretty sure it's nonsense. It doesn't have enough to be an actual piece of music (no treble or bass clef, no barlines, no time signature, no key signature). It could be a piece of music that I'm not familiar with, but I doubt it. It doesn't sound good in treble or bass clef. EDIT: Perhaps they purposely wrote it to sound bad, as Squidward's music is always horrible.

IMPRESSIVE! I'm honestly surprised this hasn't been front-paged yet! I like the pyramid, I wish I had the pieces to do that.

I would say buy 6867 Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape. That Iron Man fig is amazing, Hawkeye's bow is beautiful, and the jeep itself is pretty nice.

I can? HOORAY! I COMPLETELY agree with this statement. -

An optimist wouldn't say it's a bad photo, would they? Wouldn't they say "I believe that the photographer can take better photos", or something? Now, to be on topic. I really like the new mask. I'm VERY hopeful that's a sign of TDK/TDKR sets. I'd love an official TDK Joker. As long as Dark Knight sets don't interfere with our chances of getting a new Nightwing fig. -
But imagine the results of a REAL boat or ship tipping over sideways from rogue waves. It could be pretty bad. for the scientists, go Lego!

I agree it's a great article. I first read it quite a while back, just a couple days after it was posted. I'm anxiously awaiting the next article!

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 7 Discussion

I can't decide whether or not I'd like that. I probably would dislike it, I really need to find a bagpiper. There's a thread in the Community for LEGO dreams. -
Ah, too bad. I probably won't be going then.

Sorry for my ignorance, but where is this again?

Batman custom: Poison Ivy
purpleparadox replied to purpleparadox's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Hi all! I re-took the photos, so have another look! (It's still too blurry, but at least the lighting was decent today.) Thanks! -
I do agree with you, but with such a, (for lack of a better term), "generic" theme as City, couldn't they make it more gender-neutral?
-
Not at all. Any self-respecting FOL would rather have the minifigs.

Batman custom: Poison Ivy

Thank you! I agree the lighting's bad. I DO take better pictures sometimes, see my "I wondered whatever happened to the caped crusader" MOC in the licensed forums. Link I'll also retake this picture. Good idea. I really appreciate you looking at this, because you're my favourite customizer. I'm going to see if I have bright green hips before I retake the photo. -

That explains it! I'm on my mobile device (iPod touch) so now I know why I usually don't see it. Thanks Brickdoctor. Well, that was easily solved. Sorry to the mods for this topic. EDIT: Thanks Hinckley. -

I like the new forum skin. It really captures the spring-y feel. But I've been having something interesting happening lately. Sometimes when I refresh the Board Index page, for a brief time before the forum skin loads, it shows a different one. This skin shows a Wampa with a drumstick, a teddy bear, and a baseball player beating a mime with his bat. Does anyone else see this? Or know why? I like it. I'd just also like to know why it's there. -

Hi all, I've made a purist custom that I'd like to share with you guys. Poison Ivy is a plant-loving villain of the DC universe. I've always loved interpretations of her where she has green skin, it makes her more plant-like. This minifig isn't based off of any particular version of Ivy, just how I think she should look. So, here she is! The head and torso are from the Lady Liberty CMF, the hair is Mia's from Friends (gotta love the Friends hairpieces, but not the bodies) and the legs are sand green with dark red hips. Thanks for looking! What do you guys think?

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
purpleparadox replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This happened a LOT with the Exo-Force theme. Sometimes the hair/headgear piece just doesn't cover the double-sided face. IMO, if the hair doesn't fully cover the back of the head, then TLG should only give the minifig a single-sided face. -
"Lego reports a loss" was Min3craft, not CUUS0O. CUUS0O is changed to "KOOOZOOOO or however the megabluck you spell it".
