Can I add that one to my list under a special "Readers' Contributions" section? -Toa Of Justice

I recently thought of some entertaining sayings about LEGO products, which I have dubbed LEGOisms. These LEGOisms are mostly in the order in which I thought of them. LEGOism #1: Only the best is good enough -- everything else might as well be M#g@ Bl*ks.* LEGOism #2: You are what you build -- but please don't try to take yourself apart or let anyone else do so. LEGOism #3: "Legos" are bad for your health. However, LEGO bricks (or models, parts, etc.) are healthier for you than any vitamin out there (for best results, do not eat LEGO bricks, build with them instead). LEGOism #3a: "Legos" are bad for your health, but M#g@ Bl*ks are much worse. LEGOism #4: LEGO Racers are the fastest cars in the universe -- don't let anyone tell you otherwise. LEGOism #5: Bionicles don't fight very well. However, characters from the BIONICLE universe are among the best fighters in the world -- especially the Toa and Glatorian. LEGOism #6: Building silently with golden bricks is better than building noisily with silver bricks. LEGOism #7: One who seeks out the best LEGO models will find them, but only if one looks hard enough. LEGOism #8: If a LEGO enthusiast wants to show his or her true patriotism, he or she should build a Danish flag out of LEGO bricks. LEGOism #9: The heroes always win, especially if they have LEGO bricks on their side and they know how to use them well. LEGOism #10: If your life falls apart, put it back together with LEGO bricks -- it works every time. LEGOism #11: The way to achieve world peace (or should I say piece?) is to build colorful and creative bridges made from LEGO bricks spanning the oceans. LEGOism #11a: If LEGOism #11 doesn't work, try throwing M#g@ Bl*ks at terrorists and evil dictators to scare them away. LEGOism #11b: If throwing M#g@ Bl*ks at terrorists doesn't work either, shoot projectiles from LEGO Pirate cannons at them! LEGOism #12: Fire conquers almost all, but only LEGO bricks can conquer boredom. LEGOism #13: The third pig's house was actually made out of LEGO bricks, not bricks and mortar. LEGOism #13a: The only real bricks are LEGO bricks -- everything else claiming to be bricks are just imitations. LEGOism #14: Vote Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen for President in every election! (Apologies to Barack Obama) LEGOism #15: The way to a person's heart is through his or her LEGO collection. If the person doesn't have any LEGO bricks/models, buy some for him or her. LEGOism #15a: If that person doesn't like LEGO bricks, that person probably isn't worth your time. LEGOism #16: The most important (and most enjoyable) part of Disney World (in Florida) is the LEGO Store. LEGOism #17: It is often easier to build with LEGO bricks than it is to take them apart. With M#g@ Bl*ks, it's the other way around. LEGOism #18: Build your future with LEGO bricks. LEGOism #19: If your computer's firewall seems inadequate, make a wall out of LEGO bricks for it -- no malware will be able to pass through it, guaranteed! LEGOism #20: If you must have an addiction to something, let it be one to LEGO bricks and/or models rather than drugs and/or alcohol. LEGOism #20a: Unlike drugs and alcohol, you don't have to continuously spend money on LEGO bricks and models to enjoy them--that's what MOCs are for. NEW: LEGOism #21: The LEGO brick that the builders rejected shall become part of the greatest MOC of all time. NEW: LEGOism #22: Saying "M#g@ Bl*ks" in a LEGO-owned facility is akin to profanity, and will likely make the employees there angry at you. *Readers' Contributions* Readers' LEGOism #1: When life gives you megablocks, throw them at people who own expensive cars. -Contributed by Brickmaster If you want to, you can comment on mine and/or come up with your own! -Toa Of Justice * Mega Bloks

Pirate Building Event at Orlando LEGO Store
Toa_Of_Justice replied to Toa_Of_Justice's topic in LEGO Pirates
Arr, I went to the event too! When I handed in my piece for inspection, the inspector said it was "too good!" Anyways, I came to show off my Certificate of Achievement! (Note: I edited out my real name and put my username in the blank to protect my identity.) Also, I asked an important question on behalf of all people who would like to become a Master Builder like Dan Steininger: Q: What are the educational requirements to become a Master Builder (if any)? A: Art, sculpture, 3-D computer design, and/or engineering. (Note about sculpture: Carving/sculpting subtracts, LEGO bricks add.) -Toa Of Justice EDIT: I just had a chance to photograph my free mask: 1 2 3 WARNING: These are HUGE (but pretty clear) pictures. EDIT 2: I forgot to mention that the mask doubles as a cool hand-held fan. -
I share your happiness, Colonel. *salutes* -Toa Of Justice

Pirate Building Event at Orlando LEGO Store
Toa_Of_Justice replied to Toa_Of_Justice's topic in LEGO Pirates
When I clicked that link today, I got a message telling me to update my Flash plug-in. After completing the update, I clicked the "Continue" link on that message and I was taken to http://www.lego.com/legostores/events.asp which gave me the same "Not Found:" error. However, this URL always worked for me: http://www.lego.com/legostores/events.asp?...USA&cCode=2 (Note: You may need to move your mouse over the good link to see the full URL.) Did that solve the problem? -Toa Of Justice P.S. For those of you who wish this event was in your state, I have a feeling it will eventually come there, like previous events of this type (does anyone remember the Yoda and R2-D2 traveling building events?). -
LEGO seems to have a really cool ad campaign for their 2009 Pirates lineup! From this announcement at LEGO.com: LEGO Pirate Master Builder Event! November 7 - 9: Join in an incredible LEGO event and help LEGO Master Builder Dan Steininger construct an 8-foot LEGO Pirate Minifigure for the first time ever! This event is free and fun for the whole family! Everyone who helps build will get a free Certificate of Achievement* and great special offers at the USA’s biggest LEGO Store! Don’t miss this special event, and don’t forget your camera! What they didn't mention on the site is that you can get a free LEGO Pirate mask with any purchase!* *While supplies last. One free mask per person. I initially found out about this event from a postcard with the 2009 LEGO Pirates logo I got in the mail: Postcard Front Postcard Back -Toa Of Justice

What '09 themes will you be changing?
Toa_Of_Justice replied to bub166's topic in General LEGO Discussion
BIONICLE excites me the most. (Glowing Swords! ) I also really like Racers (and I always have ), and it's also the first theme I want to mod in 2009 (I want to add "plate-and-tile-built" snow bumps to Ice Rally that are based off the sand bumps in Desert Challenge). -Toa Of Justice -
I have the set in front of me as I type this. I admire its durability (if I drop it, it almost never breaks), its playability (I can get it to preform extreme wheelies on both the front and back tires), and its creative alternate models (as seen in the instructions). My only complaint is that the blue bullhorn is quite loose in my set, so I used a bit of glue from a glue stick to keep it from slipping out. My overall rating of this set is 4/5. -Toa Of Justice

Your favorite lightsaber duel!
Toa_Of_Justice replied to darkrebellion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I liked the duel between Obi-Wan and General Grievous in Episode III, both in the movie and in LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game. -Toa Of Justice -
Has anyone seen this video on LEGO.com that shows how to install Power Functions on the MT-61 Crystal Reaper? It's surprisingly humorous, especially at the end. -Toa Of Justice

Thank you, I understand now. I first thought that it was a new rank one could get into by PM'ing an Admin if he/she was taking a vacation or something like that. Again, thank you. I actually was doing some kind of an investigation -- I wanted to know how many members were "On Hiatus." -Toa Of Justice
-
Hello folks, I'm sorry to revive this topic after nearly 2 months of inactivity, but I seem to have stumbled upon a new rank: On Hiatus. I've seen at least two members with this rank. How does a member get this rank? Also, I can't seem to find this group in the member list. Why is that? -Toa Of Justice

Very nice! I especially like the wings. Can you please post a link to the LDD file so me and other people can view your cool creation in 3D? Thanks in advance. -Toa Of Justice
-
You're welcome! Perhaps you could devise a mechanism similar to the one in 8873 Fireball Catapult, and put a lightsaber blade in the center of your glaive to mimic the projectile from that set. -Toa Of Justice
-
When I first saw the title of this topic, I thought someone built a launcher for my Krull Glaive MOC. Your MOC reminds me a lot of 8873 Fireball Catapult, but of course your creation is much better than that set. I especially like the armor around it -- I think that if the LEGO Group does make an Elves line, they should use your style. Great job! -Toa Of Justice

I only have one shark, and it's in the style of the one on the right. -Toa Of Justice

I follow all of these rules except for the last one, because I find it quite hard to type the Registered symbol (®) properly and quickly on my keyboard (I had to go to the Character Map in Windows XP to put that symbol there). -Toa Of Justice

Actually, I think it's quite possible. Click here and select "Russian Federation" from the drop-down menu -- apparently there is a LEGO facility in your country! -Toa Of Justice P.S. I apologize for straying so far off-topic.

Thank you very much for the link! I swear I am not a TLC employee in disguise. I wish I was, however. -Toa Of Justice

Can I get the name of that wonderful Russian store...please? -Toa Of Justice

dwarf steampunk interceptor MOC

I see. Thanks. -Toa Of Justice -
That sounds really cool! If that store is owned by the LEGO Company, I bet their stock probably comes from there. If that store isn't owned by the LEGO Company, I think it may have some sort of deal with either the LEGO Company or Bricklink. -Toa Of Justice
