  1. This is how I would imagine Rocket Racer if he came back in a LEGO Racers 3 video game. Tap or click any image to enlarge it. This model is almost buildable in real life. Unfortunately, those angled brackets near the front don't come in blue and white yet. In the meantime, you can enjoy the LXF file, or browse the Brickshelf gallery. -Toa Of Justice
  2. This is my custom device dock that can hold both my iPod touch and my Windows Phone at once--hence the name iWin. Tap or click any picture to enlarge it. In the front, there are two arms that ratchet down to prevent the device in the lower dock from tipping over when in a vertical orientation. In the rear, there is a knob that can adjust the angle of the iWin's rear frame. All 4 wheels can be unlocked (by pulling out the black bushing pins) for rolling around, or locked in place to act as rubber feet. The iWin can lean back very far, but there are a couple of angled TECHNIC beams that prevent the iWin from collapsing under the weight of any devices it is holding. Those beams also restrict the maximum vertical angle of the iWin. From left to right: iWin holding my Windows Phone (a Nokia Lumia 920 for those interested), iWin holding my 5th-gen iPod touch with an official LEGO case, and iWin holding both of my devices. All of the above pictures (except for the one in which the iWin is leaning back--I used my Lumia 920's own camera for that picture) were taken using a GoPro Hero3+ Silver Edition camera that I won in a sweepstakes. LXF File (current version) LXF File (old prototype, version 1) LXF File (old prototype, version 2) Brickshelf Gallery Bonus: I made a special stand for my iPod touch that attaches to its LEGO case. (These pictures were also taken with the 920's own camera.)
  3. Looking better! The version on the left has the best coloring and smoothness of texture. I think the eyes still need a little more shrinking and spacing further apart though (make them fit completely within the 1x1 bricks; this will eliminate the STAMP problem too). I wonder if my brick-built lips ought to be a smiling decal too. That would make her face even friendlier, I think. Thanks again for your efforts to improve my concept. -Toa Of Justice EDIT: Someone on the LEGO Ideas website had another idea for the face. Apparently it needs more "legalese." What do you think that's supposed to mean? I doubt they want her face covered in legal language. That would be silly. EDIT 2: Someone else on the LEGO Ideas website had yet another idea for the face, this time involving the eyes introduced in the Mixels series. Even though the color of the eyes isn't correct, they look very cute on her! EDIT 3: I edited her eyes in MSPaint. Click the picture to see a larger version.
  4. That's better, but I think the eyes should be a bit smaller and bluer. -Toa Of Justice
  5. Thank you for your attempts at improving my concept. I appreciate them very much. To be honest, I liked your eye decals/textures better. If they were printed directly on the face (go back to my original head design, remove the 1x1 TECHNIC bricks and the white pegs within them, replace those bricks with regular 1x1 bricks, and put eye decals/textures on those bricks), I think that would be ideal. BTW, nice forest background! I wish LDD had something that good. -Toa Of Justice
  6. Thanks, everyone! Thank you. I wasn't quite sure where to post this model, but from now on, if I have a MOC that doesn't seem to fit within any known theme, I'll be sure to post it in this forum. No such plans at this time, sorry. Nice render! Perhaps her eyes would look better printed directly on the 1x1 bricks rather than on the 1x1 round tiles. -Toa Of Justice EDIT: Removed picture from quote to save bandwidth.
  7. Click any image for a larger picture. Tinker Bell is an extremely popular character, originally created by J. M. Barrie, and currently owned by the Walt Disney Company. I believe fans of Disney and LEGO would love to build this rendition of her. In my concept model, her arms, legs, head, and wings can be moved to achieve various poses. I had thought about buying the pieces to build Tinker Bell in real life, but most of her 199 pieces do not yet exist in the colors I chose--such as the Light Nougat (a.k.a. Light Flesh) in her head, arms, and legs. If my concept of Tinker Bell were to be produced, it might be possible to use Brick Yellow (a.k.a. Tan), a more common color, in place of Light Nougat. However, after trying that in LEGO Digital Designer, I noticed that Tinker Bell's skin looked unnatural. In real life, Brick Yellow might look better than it does in LEGO Digital Designer. While designing my concept, I tried to preserve a realistic appearance while still allowing for movement of joints. The arms and head were especially challenging. Although my concept has brick-built eyes, I think custom decals would look better. Feel free to inspect my concept in LEGO Digital Designer. Here is the posed model, and here is a straight standing version. Please vote for my concept on LEGO Ideas. If you have friends and/or relatives that might like this model, please tell them to sign up and vote for it too. Thank you in advance for your support! -Toa Of Justice
  8. I noticed that in order to add a model group, I had to press the "Page Down" key in the form to create a new record. Then I was able to enter the data for the new model group. Nevertheless, it worked. Thank you, Superkalle. -Toa Of Justice
  9. That will be the last time I try to use Microsoft OneDrive to share anything in an online forum. I uploaded the images to good old Brickshelf and changed the URLs. If the images still aren't visible, I'll just attach them directly to the post. -Toa Of Justice
  10. Either I'm not doing this right or the software has a bug in it, but it seems impossible to create my own model group. Here's what I got when trying to add my own item to the list of groups: Here's what I got when I tried to follow the hint in the message. I'm running Office 365 Home Premium on Windows 8.1 Pro x64. -Toa Of Justice
  11. I just contacted LEGO Customer Service regarding the decoration palette scrolling issue. They told me it's a known issue and that the Digital Development team is working on it. One workaround I found with the current version of LDD is to switch to the standard LDD theme, without hiding colors. I can scroll faultlessly through the decorations in the brick palette, pick an element, then switch back to the LDD Extended theme and paint the element in another color. -Toa Of Justice
  12. The new scrolling decoration palettes only work for less than a minute before scrolling stops responding. In addition, the mouse wheel cannot be used to scroll in these palettes. -Toa Of Justice
  13. Thank you! I don't have plans to build any similar vehicles right now, so let's call this a standalone model (or models, since it's a combo of a rover and a shuttle). -Toa Of Justice
  14. The fifth picture from the top shows the suspension in action. But I'll try take a video of it this weekend. EDIT: -Toa Of Justice
  15. Four years ago, in this galaxy (as opposed to that one far, far, away ), I made a model in LEGO Digital Designer called the MX-2 Rover. Shortly thereafter, I ordered the pieces to build it via LEGO's ill-fated Design byME program. This year, the realization hit me (like an asteroid crashing into an uninhabited planet ) that the steering mechanism was too weakly mounted to the chassis. So, I made several attempts to rebuild the chassis, eventually starting the entire model over from scratch in LDD. Even the shuttle on the back got a revamp. When I felt my design was satisfactory, I took apart the old rover, ordered the additional pieces I needed from Pick A Brick and BrickLink, and built them into... MX-2 Rover - eXtreme eXpedition Edition Now there is suspension on all six wheels and a folding communications dish that is independent from the steering mechanism (on the old model, it was connected to the steering). I also added glow-in-the-dark headlights in the front. Click (or tap, if you're using a touchscreen-enabled device) any picture to see a larger one. Headlights aglow! That gear on the back controls the steering. Here you can see the suspension in action. In addition, the communications dish has been unfolded, rotated, and aimed skyward. The shuttle has been detached from the rover and is "flying" on clear bricks. Browse the Brickshelf gallery, or download the LDD file. This model was designed by Toa Of Justice.
  16. Very nice MOC. It looks like the Red Team's equivalent to the Swarm Interceptor, and something that could have been pitted against an enemy base in an official set. -Toa Of Justice

  18. All right, I tried the Barb Small. How's this? (click pic to enlarge; LXF) -Toa Of Justice
  19. Thanks. Do you have any suggestions for the lower arm add-on armor? -Toa Of Justice
  20. UPDATE: See real-life photos of this model in the next post. I have been looking at the insectoid forces in sets 70700, 70701, and 70707 for a long time, imagining what it would be like if they were all combined into one large bug. Before building the Cosmic Winger in real life, I decided to design it in LDD. I ended up using every single piece of each insectoid vehicle/creature in my combo model. Click any picture for a larger picture. { ^ Extra-large pic ^ } { ^ Extra-large pic ^ } { ^ Extra-large pic ^ } { ^ Extra-large pic ^ } { ^ Extra-large pic ^ } { ^ Extra-large pic ^ } { ^ Extra-large pic ^ } { ^ Extra-large pic ^ } { LXF File } { Brickshelf Gallery } The Cosmic Winger has 4 eyes, 4 mandibles, 2 guns beneath those mandibles, 4 wings, 12 legs, a buggoid pilot, and a crazy mosquitoid gunner wielding two blaster pistols. In addition, I have made a "stinger bomb" out of the pieces left over after building the Cosmic Winger itself (I hope to get got the jackhammer to fit more tightly in real life). When I have time to build, I'll post pictures of the real thing, but if you have any suggestions for the digital model, I can make any necessary modifications before I build it. Bugging Out, -Toa Of Justice EDIT: That big green thing in the back of the Cosmic Winger isn't a cocoon prison. Although it's shaped like one (and could technically fit a minifigure), it's actually the hyperdrive engine, with a thruster at the very end. EDIT 2: See the next post for the real thing!
  21. Thanks for the tips. I'll see what I can do, and I'll post the results when I'm done here. -Toa Of Justice EDIT: Here ya go! Click any image to enlarge it. Here's the LXF file. - [ ^ Even Larger ^ ] ------ [ ^ Even Larger ^ ]
  22. Brick-built? I think I might have an idea. But would you prefer that the gun be wider, or just shorter? That would influence what pieces I use in its construction. If you want it to be wider, I was thinking of using 4x4 round plates and putting the barrels between them. -Toa Of Justice
  23. Thanks, everyone! I designed the gun for maximum flexibility, hence the reason it sticks out so much. As for thickness... I'm not quite sure what to do about that. Any suggestions? The knees still bend quite a bit as they are now. [Picture] [Larger Picture] -Toa Of Justice
  24. This is my idea of Bulk in XL form. He fights injustice with HammerClaw (his hammer) and BigBoom (his Gatling gun). Click any image to enlarge it.
