  1. Yes they are the new red quivers from ninjago. The base is from my Puss No Boots vists Zakon Goldblade build. Which before that was used in the Knights of Aslan display. I actually have more pieces to spare and thats even with the Black Pyramid still intact. When I find a piece I like, I've been bricklinking them in the 1000's. My problem now is usually finding the piece I need as 90% of my collection is still/has become unsorted and most of my sorting attempts have been wasted by my 2 year old He tries copying me sorting but doesnt quite understand what sorting is. He usually adds quite a few pieces to the bases of my builds and I've been tempted just to just leave them there when I've photographed but so far I've removed them right before photographing. Soon I think I will just leave them for the memories so be warned.
  2. A squad of flame archers sent by Bishop Jamon have come to wreak havoc on Revolword's troops. The best archers of Jamon's troops, they are armed with longbows, speedy and proficient snipers, while also being expert knife wielders in hand to hand combat. Flame archers by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr
  3. You have some really nice ideas here. I like the arches used for rails. I think what deGothia means is that there aren't enough people. For example there is only 1 Kaliphlin in the Kaliphlin camp. If this was a public joust, there should be plenty of spectators cheering on the sidelines.
  4. Thanks! I was pleased with how the torches turned out. Thanks! You actually gave me an idea with that street comment...
  5. Awesome stuff! So much great stuff but my focus is drawn to that wonderful wagon.
  6. Thanks! The Knight Commander is something of a legend and if they are present on the battlefield there would only be 1 or 2 at the most for an epic battlefield. As far as the command units, it would be one commander per 5 or 10 units and if no one is available from the designated rank to command then the next rank up gets the command. For example: 1 x "4"commands {10 x "3" who command [10 x "2" who command(10 x "1")]} Thanks! That was the idea
  7. Thanks guys! A great incentive to reach level 6. Yes there are ranks for each level. Masa devised an unconventional multi-tiered ranking system based on experience and skill. The swordsman ranking goes something like the following: 1. Recruit, commanded by a Foot Soldier 2. Foot Soldier, commanded by a Man at Arms 3. Man at Arms, commanded by a Knight Squire 4. Knight Squire, commanded by a First Knight 5. First Knight, commanded by a Knight Commander 6. Knight Commander Thanks! Masa considers it a waste to have soldiers training in swordsmanship to train in other weapons. If a sword will be your weapon of expertise then the sword must become second nature even from the lowest ranks. Spearmen are a different catagory the highest rank of which is Lancer Champion
  8. Masa finally had had enough of the disorganization that was the Phantom Legion. The volunteers that had gathered at the Black Pyramid were divided into many groups, and the leader of each group had their own opinion on how to wage the war against Revolword. So Masa informed them that from this day on, there was one army and a chain of command that was to be followed. Whoever was not willing to join this army should return home. And so it was that Masa created the ranking system for the Army of Kaliphlin from lowly recruit to Knight Commander,
  9. Here is your answer I believe: You will find out more about the lion men and the castle as I finish more sections of the castle.
  10. Thanks! I'm trying to create a unique style for my castle, one that sets it apart from the rest. I kept dreaming of a mountain fortress but I get bored with building rocky surfaces too easily. Varlyrio's rich atmosphere gave me the inspiration and a foundation to finally settle on a plan. Thanks! Varlyrio rocks! Thanks! I thought it would add more texture to the upper level. Thanks! Sounds like my wife when I show her other people's MOCs. She always manages to point out where their techniques are better than mine. Keeps me objective and been helping me improve I think Yes, this was the end of the "Rescuing Merith" story arc so I think its in your court to continue her adventures. Thanks! I see you been reading the comments
  11. A mysterious someone already fixed it.
  12. Looking forward to a Historica-style build from you... Thanks! I started out using round plates on the walls but it didn't have the feel I wanted so I tried the same technique I had used on the pathway.
  13. Thanks! Glad you liked it! Thanks! Looking forward to seeing a GoH MOC done by you, Thanks! I think it was my only solution to have it in pearl gold. Thanks! I kind of built it like that for modularity. This build snaps between two other tower builds im working on. Thanks! Finally a comment on the dhow...
  14. Nice work! I really like the 3rd pic as it really shows how massive this is.
  15. Thanks! I got the idea of the flowers from CBB. Thanks! Glad you like it. Hope you check out my "Rescuing Merith: Part 3 as your builds helped inspire me for it. Thanks! No telling what Zakon will do... You should really join GoH, just join Kaliphlin I think if you tweeked some of your modulars, you could make them really fit here in GoH. At least they gave me inspiration for a Varlyrio build.
  16. Rescuing Merith: Part 3 is now posted.
  17. When Ageven and Merith arrived in Barqa they were met by three elves. Ageven thought he had seen one of them before. The elves hurriedly escorted them to a building just a few blocks from the docks. Gaius looked quite relieved to see them. “I'm sorry that you must leave right away,” he told Merith. I don't think you will be safe until you arrive with Kucuk's kin. “So that is why this elf looks familiar,” Ageven thought to himself. “He must be Kucuk Kartal, winner of the Eastern Archery Tournament in Mpya Stedor.” Gaius instructed Merith to follow one of the female elves and a short while later when they returned, Merith and the elf had swapped clothes. “The female elves in Kaliphlin cover their faces with head scarves to protect their beauty from the sun,” Gaius explained. “Three elves arrived at this house, and now three elves will leave and no one will be the wiser. Farewell now and may you find comfort at your journey's end.” Ageven bade Merith farewell and then Merith, Kucuk, and Tawaret, the other female elf, walked back to the docks where they boarded a small dhow. Their was not much room on board and what little room there was, was filled with provisions for the journey. They sailed west and Merith watched as the coastline disappeared beyond the horizon. Ten days later they sailed past a large island and four days after that they arrived at a large port city with many canals. Kucuk navigated the dhow to a large fortress in the harbor. Three lion men greeted them and helped secure the dhow to the docks. “Welcome to Amancio Castello in Illyria,” Kucuk gestured at the fortress. “You are safe here and this will be your home as long as you wish to stay." I want to give a shout out to MikeyB who with his Varlyrio Guild gave me inspiration for the foundation. A shout out also goes to Kristel for her modular building designs which helped inspire me with the architecture. Once again, please remember I am a crappy photographer, so keep that in mind when viiewing my photos. Edit: Added more pics. This build is modular and actually sits between to towers I am presentlyworking on.
  18. A whirlwind of sand blows in and Masa appears for a few seconds... Who is Zakron? he asks. I have heard you mention him twice. He looks at kabel. Does too much German blood leave out "E" as well? The sand swirls and Masa disappears once more...
  19. You be missing a "B", methinks, Z. Anyway that does sound like a good idea.
  20. Yeah I know just had to throw that joke in. Anyway I think Ska's idea is pretty good. At least it will give soem sort of interaction between us lowly subjects and the ruler of Historica. Our current king went to tour the realms near the beginning of his reign and hasn't been seen since. Absentee ruler... Edit: But you have to fight for the throne and win first
  21. That would be awesome but I think what is going to be more awesome is the war for the throne... We now have several aspirations for the throne. Me, I'm staying out of politics.
  22. Wow no chatter here for an entire day... Well I got my Puss "No" Boots MOC posted and the finishing pieces for Merith's MOC should arrive tomorrow so that should be up Saturday. That one is a bit bigger so may have a hard time photographing. It is set in Varlyrio. Seems like I've been venturing outside of Kaliphlin of late.
  23. I assume Zakon would rule through a Shadow Emperor since he seems to not like being seen...
  24. Thanks! I had built another wall a while ago but it just didn't feel right. But as I started working on the path, it gave me idea for the wall. Thanks! I agree. We needn't even wait until GoH chapter 2 in my opinion. Nothings stopping us from doing it now. And I think it actually inspires me to build even more than the challenges because I don't feel as restricted. Thanks! Puss has been enjoying himself in Antyria so far Nice one! Thanks! I have to say you MOCs were my 100% inspiration for this. Looking forward to see your follow up. As for the tiles, I bricklinked them a while ago for another project. Thanks!
