"Aha, a new quest! I think this one will suit me fine, no mention of pirates at least." Maurice signs up for Quest #27.

It's just a suggestion that you build something from your locality, it's not mandatory. Build whatever you like as long as it goes with the rules.

"I might do that, but I got some other things in mind too. I wish you good luck if you happen to go on that quest Nur, even if I know that luck isn't a problem for you." "No." Maurice thought to himself that it was weird that beggars were allowed inside the Hall now.

Maurice accepts the water from the barbarian. "Thanks Alf! Yes, my most recent quest was a huge failure and I'm still not ready to return to the Paladin Order. That are the reasons why I'm not so happy at the moment, but I will keep my patience, with the help of Ennoc."

Maurice went disappointed to the Temple of Ennoc after he had returned the stolen Hinckwell wares to its rightful owners. The last quest had been a huge failure from the heroes part, at least that was Maurice's opinion. Instead of fulfilling their mission, the heroes had let the pirate leader escape and supported the no-good family of Ji Pei. Through trickery and deceit they had still gotten a big reward, but the gold did not only weight down Maurice's purse but his conscience as well. At the Temple he went up to the idol of Ennoc and said his prayers, asking for guidance and forgiveness from the Righteous Light. He knew that even though he had argued against the dishonourable choice in the quest, he still had guilt in what had happened. He should have argued harder and if necessary stopped his quest mates with force, Ennoc would had supported him. After his prayers, Maurice went to see the High Priestess Alisameth. He wanted to hear if he had gathered enough experience to be accepted back into the Order and if not, if there was anything he could do to speed up that process. As he walked through the white corridors of the large complex that was the Paladin Order's high quarters he also wondered on what he would do with the money he had got. Perhaps a donation to the Temple would be the best option. A lot of people were walking in the corridors, most of them members of the Order in one way or another. Maurice spotted priests chanting prayers, clerics carrying crates with potions and elixirs, battle-hardened Soldiers of the Light, some noble members of the Righteous Council, young novices in dark blue garments and simple servants always in a hurry somewhere. The Paladin Order was a grand organisation and the activity was high. "Soon", thought Maurice. "Soon I'll be part of that again." High Priestess Alisameth was pleased to see Maurice, but unfortunately she had disappointing news. "You are not quite there yet, Maurice. You need to find harmony between your mind and body, a Paladin knows what he feels and feels what he knows. You don't lack the skills, I know you haven't forgotten your sword and shield technique and Ennoc has blessed you with healing miracles, but you need to combine them in a perfect way to be able to advance. You must know when to fight and feel when to heal and vice versa. Master this and we will welcome you back to the Paladin Order." Maurice bowed his head and accepted the High Priestess' words. He knew them was right and he had had a feeling that he wasn't quite ready yet. He then asked about advice for what to do with the money. Would the Temple appreciate a donation? "We aren't really in any need for gold at the moment, Maurice, but thank you for your offer. Money is rolling in from our conquest up north and now that the pirates are gone we hope to take up our trading again. I suggest you use that money to prepare yourself for future quests. No matter how faithful follower of Ennoc you are, you can't always rely on his support in battles. Make sure you got the best equipment before you set out and you will be able to serve the Light much better." Maurice thanked Alisameth for her advice and went back out into the streets of Eubric. The sun was setting behind the Sungold hill and he realized that the market was closing, he would have to do his shopping the next day. So Maurice Ratibor the Cleric walked back to the Heroica Hall and carefully avoided eye contact with any of his recent quest mates as he found his way to an empty chair in Scheherazade's Saloon. Maurice Ratibor Level 13.5 Cleric Power: 17 Health: 22/22 Ether: 17/17 Gold: 537 Inventory: Diamond Mace (WP:4 light-elemental), Helmet (+1 max. health), Scroll of Sleep, 2 Potions, 2 Tonics, 2 Ether Cores, 2 Remedies, Phoenix Essence, Venom, Floral Bomb

You know, it's not a bad MOC you have there. But your photography leaves much to ask for, it's out of focus and lacks clean background. If you improve your pictures, your MOCs will looks much nicer too.

Yeah, sorry I wasn't clearer on that when you got the shield. But it says here in the rules: Shields (protective equipment, suitable for knights.)
-
Tomas' (Tamamono's) shield power in your quest. You have listed his SP as 3 even though he can't use the shield in his possession.
-
I didn't mentioned who it was suitable for when I created it since I thought shields were only suitable for knights (and their advanced variations) unless stated otherwise. I don't know why Bricksandparts interpreted that different.

What are you talking about? The Zookeeper isn't printed on the back. If you don't want to look at the Roman's yellow behind I suggest putting a cape on him, like the Spartan. -
The Crusaders learned quite quickly the tradition of bathing and washing from the eastern cultures so those weren't the dirtiest ones during the medieval time. They also brought the idea with them home and the hygiene actually got worse later during the 14-15th century. For the Viking's wahsing habits, consult Ibn Fadlan:

Heroica RPG - Quest#15: Hoisting Down the Jolly Roger
Etzel replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Well, this was surely a low-water mark of the history of Heroica. I would've exposed that treacherous pirate if I had got the chance but everything went so quickly, I don' know what happened really. Now I will return my part of the Hinckley's wares and I urge you others to do the same. It's not nearly enough to make up for the unjust choices you've done but it's a step on the way." Maurice was extremely disappointed and he hoped that he never would have to go on a quest with these deceitful so-called "heores" again. OoC: Thanks for a great quest, Sandy! And thanks to the rest of the team, Maurice doesn't agree with me but I think it's been very fun questing with you. -
Heroica RPG - Quest#15: Hoisting Down the Jolly Roger
Etzel replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"We are heroes with a mission: To get rid of the piracy in these waters. You will have a hard time finding a more noble and heroic mission then that. In what way would the pirates be better then the Bonapartes? Is plundering and stealing an eligible way to take over trading? No! It's evil and unjust and causes suffering to a lot of innocent people. Besides, why would we want to support the Ji Pei family? Have you already forgotten about their evil machines we fought? Imagine if they were to build and army of those. Imagine to face thousands of cold and callous metal monster, killing anything in their path, terminating all the living beings on Olegaia without any conscience. I can see this happen, it's the future if we let those technicians of Ji Pei get to much power." Maurice was getting redder and redder in his face as he desperately tried to convince his team mates to make the right choice. But when he spoke of the the Automatons his eyes shifted focus and his vision was blurred for a moment. When it came back he really saw it: The metal armies of thousands and thousands of Automatons, marching in perfect lines. Lifeless red eyes stared at him from all directions, the rhythmic sound of steel feet against the ground, coming closer and closer. Without any signal all the Automatons lifted their Tri-dazer arms and pointed them at Maurice. He could see the lightning power charging up, the dark magic that was going to destroy him, not only his body but his soul as well. Burned out of existence, shattered in a million pieces. The metal monsters fired at him and...he were back with his team mates in the pirate's cabin. Maurice took a deep breath and said a prayer to the Righteous Light. With the help of Ennoc he would make sure his vision didn't came true. His first obstacle was here and now, if only his team mates could see as clearly as himself. -

"I thought you had left that dark side of you behind when you joined Heroica, but apparently I was wrong. Honour and justice means nothing to you and you would rather fill your own pockets then protect the people of Eubric from this scum. If you rather work with the pirates then the Bonaparte family, then why did yo sign up for this quest? That questions goes out to all of you others too." -

"We can't let this pirate walk free, either we bring him back to his brother and tell him all what has happened, or we kill him here and now. No cooperating with pirates!" -

"What?! Are you seriously considering cooperating with this pirate and the Ji Pei family when we are employed by the Bonapartes?" Maurice was chocked by his quest mates' lack of honour and respect for the law. -

"I'll use my Nostrum now. Do you think we need a plan or are we just going to storm in once everyone is ready and take the pirates by surprise?" -
Oh my, there are so many great builds! I need to come back and look more when I've got more time, but until then I just have to comment on that awesome map with the curled ends. Very creative!

Here is my LEGO corner: Work quite well, but anything larger then 48x48 studs is difficult to work with.

Aw, I know you were all writing such great defend speeches for me. To bad you didn't get to post them, I'm sure they would have turned the voting around. -
And a second round has started: Link Some really interesting candidates that I hope will make it one day, like S:t Basil's Cathedral and the Leaning tower of Pisa.
