  1. Well personally I'm against it. If we can just use those emoticons, it could become easy to see threads filled with icons in a review or poll... I'd much rather see a number with an explanation, ya know? More thought is a good thing, I mean if there's a poll it does the job for you.
  2. :-D I love that Maul pic, Asuka! Happy Birthday, Kahgarak! You too Scnicker :-)
  3. Well first I'll edit the topic title, since nobody could figure it out unless they clicked...(you seem to do that a lot) Anyway, any time you want to know the going average rate on a set, as mentioned above, check Bricklink. In the information page for the item, there's a link called Price Guide Info. Check that for better information than any one person could give you. Here it says the average price is about $299.63US New and $172.13US Used
  4. Sadly I doubt it |-/ It would be a good question for our Ambassadors though
  5. Tyger: Thanks for taking the time to go that. I'm rather bad at PS, however they looked very alike to me. I'm glad to see that it wasn't a rip-off. My apologies, TwistedDreams, but I'm sure you can see how that mistake would be made. Nice decals btw
  6. Of course not, afterall like I said I enjoy both! I'm a star wars fan, however the higher prices due to licensing fees keep me from buying them in bulk. I find that their own sets, which have a higher value in bricks/dollar are much better for figs and parts packs. There's nothing wrong with licenses (outside of the higher prices and...fleshie heads :-X ), I just prefer them to not replace their own themes entirely with licenses. It should also be noted that Star Wars is the exception rather than the rule, no other license has done nearly so well. That being said, they also seem to put more effort into their SW sets lately (introduction of the UCS, including the newest falcon just as an example) than they do for other sets like their newest space line. Licenses have their place, just...not as the dominating force. It's great because it combines two things for an adult: a current love with their past of building lego. And Lego is banking on the idea that in that process, the adult will rediscover their love for the brick. That however leads to problems since it's so radically different than it was, but they're doing well so far. Personally I have no problem with Harry Potter, I'd just rather see classic castle. And i have no problem with Indiana Jones, I'd just rather see adventurers (although if the heads were yellow and the sets were normal price I'm sorry to say I might enjoy IJ moreso).
  7. If you look closely, the lines are SLIGHTLY different. A little cleaner, the angels of the stripes are more curved, as well as the angles on the bottom and by the collar. It was clearly a copy of yours, but it wasn't 100% exact (which makes little sense but whatever).
  8. Well, just give credit if you're basing your work off of someone else. It's common courtesy, and some people will get really upset if you don't.
  9. I'm afraid I couldn't disagree more. Other toy brands stick to the same old same old and are still doing brilliantly. Playmobile, for example, has changed very little from when I was a child, but they're doing well, even without licenses. They're also doing pretty much every theme AFOLs want...I just wish Lego would take a clue from them :-/ As for more licenses, I'll get over it. I can always use more fleshies for the heads of the damned >:-) It's the only place I use them... I don't really mind licenses, as long as Lego has a nice supplement of their own lines, however them taking over the roles of their original sets (such as Indiana Jones with Adventurers, and to a limited extent Star Wars with space...as Mission Mars is doing well with children), is something I just cannot abide by. I just hope they can find a nice balance between the more expensive license sets, and cheaper sets for everyone with an imagination X-D
  10. I know...I was talking to him :-D I only quoted you because you brought it to my attention, I was referencing it :-P
  11. |-/ You'd better explain yourself...we don't like thieves, and at least you should have had the intelligence not to post it on the forum where it was created! So what do you have to say?
  12. What he did was leave a link so you can find where it was moved to ;-) Mister Phes has made a wonderful tutorial on how to resize many images at once (or one at a time). Well, to make sure why don't you measure the size of a torso, and then compare it to the dimensions from resizing? Also, try to use decals, using glue often ends up looking messy and unprofessional. My best suggestion would be to get someone like Kaminoan to print it for you on waterslide decals, which are bar-none the best to use for this sort of thing. For information on how to contact kaminoan, check the Customization Index
  13. Then please create a topic when they're ready so we can all see...
  14. It's Robot Chicken, a program on Adult Swim, which airs on Cartoon Network in many countries.
  15. Of course it would be hard to get, building something like that would be extremely expensive, that's why not everyone can do something like that. As for building, you can't just build big, you can't just buy 4 of those ships and expect to make something as good. There's no substitute for practice. Buy one set, and modify it. Then buy a second set, and try to make something a little bigger. And make sure that your quality goes up! You can build a million large sets that all look bad if you don't practice, but wouldn't you rather build something really nice like in those pictures? Buy a set, and take it slow. And also make sure to post your MOCs here!
  16. Hm, actually this doesn't do much for me, it almost makes it look like the blue part is a part of the MOC, instead of a stand...but why would you need a stand for something like that? It does bring me back to my most fond Lego memory, when I was little and opened a very special Christmas present, with a small...tiny little set with this very fig! I was shocked, I had heard nothing about this new line! What an awesome fig! And look at that mask! I ooh'd and ahh'd for awhile. It was a tiny throne, and my most memorable set. Man that was an awesome little thing.
  17. That would kill me a bit inside. There's no chance of them doing Futurama, so it's not much of an issue though :-P I figured this was just a creative-thinking thread, and not so much ideas for them REALLY doing this. Anyway, if they were to do it (:-D) they'd just leave the beer out of it altogether Now a snu-snu set would be harder to work around X-D
  18. Since you moved the post to the BSTF forum, I'll close this topic and let people answer there so we don't have two identical threads going on at the same time.
  19. I think this is worlds better! Great job X-D I still think it suffers from the "Exo-force" problem of being a front-only droid though, but to each his own :-P I love the way you re-did the guns on the arms! What are the red greebs for? Hehe, I guess my droid has a big brother now ;-)
  20. Great job, I'm glad that this series isn't dying. It's very simple, but very effective
  21. This is actually sad, jinzo. Last night some jerk was spamming caturday threads because of that link, that it had become too "mainstream". Sadly there's a very good chance that as of last night caturday will be no more! At least on /b/, and that's really the only place caturday matters. :-/
  22. Well the sets were always really small, I love the huge scale of that ship *wub* It's so full of detail, I can't wait until takuto20's folder becomes public so we can see more of it! As for that castle, it's just a thing of beauty. I'm sure that must have taken awhile to get together
  23. This is very nice! I'm honored :-$ Anyway I think you have a great start here, however there are a few improvements I'd like to suggest. Firstly you have a nice front, but it suffers from the "EF syndrome", the back is left bare! Remember to have the entire thing armored ;-) Also, I'd try to beef it up if I were you, it has a lot of guns but relatively small mass, which isn't realistic. It needs some bulk, for generators and armor to protect said generators. Also, try to build your own guns. There's nothing wrong with what you have now, however people often find more satisfying results when they're your own creation! Overall I think this is a really nice start, and can go great places! I can't wait to see what you do with this :-)
  24. Also keep in mind, off-topic doesn't mean "spam" ;-)
  25. I agree, if the number stays at 10000 the price will only go up to insane amounts. And as for the reasons stated earlier...well, the chrome 3PO would be more expensive than a normal one, and they always try to keep cost down. I'd really be surprised if they ever released a second wave, in fact I'd be willing to make a bet on the matter X-D And morris, I hate to break it to you but I'm sure there are many people on this forum that have EVERY SW fig made, and set. And some multiples of the set (*yoda*). Tell me, what Star Wars figs have ever gone DOWN in price? And those aren't even limited! Anyway, no more arguing guys, keep it nice and calm please...
