  1. After some advice from Classic-space.com I decided to swap out the head from my multi-purpose droid for a more greebled fit (I definitely agreed with Inquisitor General's critique). This is the result: This droid, built in secret by the Imperial Black Projects tech department head researcher was heavily based off some schematics believed to be from the first generation humans. Clearly some technology can not be replicated exactly, so some concessions had to be made, overall the result was still a droid leagues above the power of anything previously designed. Dubbed the 2J6, this droid was intended to be the next generation of Imperial Assault Droid, however upon activation, the protocol of the first generation of humans was activated and the droid rebelled, destroying the facility in which it was created, as well as two cruisers in orbit around said planet. The current location of the droid is unknown. With the background out of the way, some details. The first thing I wanted to do with this was to build it off of a "spine" After several failed attempts at where to go from there, I ended up being really pleased with how the chest came out: Then I made the arms, in the left arm I put a large canon: Which can change orientation for support for a charged up blast: The right arm holds a rapid-fire laser canon, surrounded by cooling vents: The legs can fold up and it can levitate some distance on the micro-repulsor array on the back: I ended up finding a way to make the knee joint in a small area, but the claw looked strange bare, so that's why I put the pair of harpoons on either side of the legs, they can also serve as added micro-repulsors. C&C welcome
  2. Well I'll move this to the general forum...but there are a few things you should know First it's generally not looked upon very well for someone to try to steal or cheat the system by getting an entire fig for free. Even if you didn't know about Bricklink, you had to know about Ebay, where you could almost definitely find any fig you want (especially something as common as a *vader*) Second remember that the sign-up age minimum here is 18, so that's already one rule that's broken. Also if you're new here, try introducing yourself in the Hello! My name is... forum. Since you got the answer, I'll close this thread...
  3. Merged with the topic hinckley linked to
  4. Ah, just as I sit down to do it I see you already have! Thanks grevious, I'll edit that in and look for anything else that might have slipped through the cracks
  5. I saw Rush Hour 3 last night, it was pretty funny. It wasn't a masterpiece, and it wasn't 'amazing', but there were some funny parts. I'm not sure how the movie will go over in France though... 8-| Sadly the outtakes were the best part of the film :-D :-D
  6. Well mods and admins can edit posts, so I'll go and see what needs updating now. I'm not really sure that's something that should be talked about ;-)
  7. Well, the fact that it's closed on both ends now makes it not only sturdier, but more realistic, not to mention that hose connection makes it look more spacey. I recently used a pair of robot arms on a little MOC, and these new ones, from the picture you provided, would fit in really nicely. Besides mecha, they can also be used on small guns, doors, hatches, and definitely greebles.
  8. Eh, that's actually really good for space MOCs still
  9. Sigh, I really REALLY wanted to buy this when it was on sale on S@H and I never did and now it's no longer available :'-( It's a great set with a nice amount of bley, but a crapload of tan. It's like the perfect way to increase your tan supplies... Nice review you lucky aussie
  10. I'm impressed that you had this much orange 8-
  11. It's somewhat disturbing that *yoda* has even more walrus pictures on hand than I do :-P
  12. Well that explains everything with Sinner... 8-|
  13. Congrats everyone *sweet* You all made fantastic MOCs! Man the voting is gonna be hard... :'-(
  14. It's very nice, but I think some brown along the river banks might help with the realism. Similarly, the windmill probably won't get much use with all the holes in it from the ladder :-P And the waterwheel is clever, some paddles might help I do like the cluttered aspect of it, keep it up *y*
  15. Yeah, the trend is that any Jim Carrey movie sequel without Jim Carrey is going to suck :-| Thanks for the heads up!
  16. Well I'm thinking the battle packs would be something like three white skellies and one black skellie for one 'bad guy' bp, then 4 goblins for another. For humans I'd say three crown knights with flared helms, and one with a pointed visor (hey, I can dream too :'-) ). I doubt they'll make a bp for dwarves for some reason, but I'd love to be proven wrong
  17. The other day I finally caught Bruce Almighty (yeah, a little late, eh? :-P) and I really loved it 8-
  18. Castle sounds interesting, and Town could be good (I'm guessing a police drama), but Mission Mars will of course suck :-X The aliens look nothing like the figs we get...
  19. I wouldn't buy them either...I never really got into the Simpsons, Futurama all the way :-D I also doubt they'll pick it up, not like it would matter to me anyway ;-) There's just not enough that they could really use for sets, or rather there aren't enough iconic things to make sets of. I'll also move this to the license forum
  20. Another great review, thanks *yoda*! Man, those smooth slopes really look like crap when on a roof :-| That was the whole reason they had texture in the first place... |-/ I'll never liked those, they feel so cheap! The new SB head is great, and can Mrs. Puff's legs move? I just ask since her feet are separate, and in figs where the legs can't move, they're usually one piece at the bottom to keep them from breaking off. The set looks great, and seems to have a lot of playability
  21. The same as if you shoot out the wheels or anti-grav on any other vehicle, legs are no more of a hinderance than any other mode of transport, and in fact are more favorable in unstable terrain, which is where they WOULD be used. And in fact research into REAL mecha use has found that the stability in legs comes from the legs being constantly off-balance to provide the overall phenomenon of stability Was this...was this a Megas XLR quote? I think I agree with sinner *wub*
  22. Well this is good to hear, thanks for the link Sam! More factions? More dwarf/troll sets? Roots? Bring it ON! X-D This is all fantastic news, and shows a very bright future for the company, and for us! I can't wait to see what they have to offer!
  23. That reminds me of this guy who...well, was surrounded by elephants that had some stomach problems. He actually was suffocated :'-(
  24. Really nice review! The set never looked that impressive to me, but the inside of the chum bucket really caught my attention! There are a lot of great pieces and parts here (and nice pose of the hand :-P) Can't wait until the other SB review
