  1. Wrack speaks the truth. Would you rather have a Midak? A Nynrah? A Cordak? A Squid Launcher? I wouldn't even want a Zamor, anyways. They were nice, but they've been done. I don't really understand all the animosity towards it when it's such a step up from recent years.
  2. No. Not at all. Archives Massacre, Brotherhood of Makuta Massacre, multiple coups, control over Mata Nui. Much more impressive resume. Really, I think Takadox is no more evil than Hakann or any of the Piraka. They're all just as backstabbing and traitorous. Takadox is cool and all, but he's nowhere near Makuta in villainousness.
  3. You can't really complain that it's unexplained when you haven't even read the last book...
  4. Personally, the Codrex is one of my favorite objects in all of BIONICLE, so I'm naturally in favor of it. Personally, though, I've really enjoyed most of 2008. I agree the vehicles could've been Rahi, but overall they don't detract much from it. 2008 ranks highly among my favorite years, and I really like the setting. (It reminds me of Slizers or RoboRiders, actually.) But I love the Codrex- For me it's just below Kini-Nui in terms of awesomeness. EDIT: 1) Haven't said anything of the kind. I really doubt they will bother with a new series name, since there are only two books in '09. Two is not much of a series. 2) Tarix is not female, which is why he does not look female. This is not the Matoran universe, so Matoran universe rules do not apply. 3) Correct 3a) No, we are not dealing on that scale of power. It's sort of like watching, say, a Pirates movie -- do they stop and get into who created the Earth during the story? 3b) Sorry, I can't go into this kind of detail 4) Nope. 2009 is about practical people dealing with serious problems ... they really don't have time to worry about the mystical and the intangible. 4. Well I mean more like in 2001- It included all of those things just as aspects of the culture, but they didn't really play an overly important part. Just little details thrown in. 4) Based on what I have seen and written, no -- we are dealing with a very different culture here, and we didn't want to just redo 2001 in a different location. 4. Sorry for the long wait before responding- If we don't get a whole lot of mysticism, will we still get lots of detailed information on the culture of the Glatorian? Because that's something I'm always very interested in. Also, a few new questions: 5. I believe you've said we're not on an island in '09- Is there any possibility that we're on a continent? 5a. If you can't answer that, can you tell us whether the location is surrounded by water? 6. If we're on a larger land-mass, is there any possibility that we might stay there for over a year? (I personally think staying in a location longer than a year is a good way to establish a new chapter of BIONICLE, but I understand that a smaller location, like an island, might be restrictive and make things boring after a while. That's why I'm hoping we have a larger setting, so that there's room to expand over two years or so.) 7. I checked a Latin translator- Is "Certavus" some manner of gladiatorial game? 4) As much as I can, remember, there are only two books next year and one is a movie novelization, so I don't have a ton of spare room. 5) I can't discuss this. 6) It depends on global set sales, W. How long we stay there really depends on how long BIONICLE lasts. 7) No Sorry, again with the number four: 4. Well in 2001 we had less, but we learned a good deal of Matoran culture through various ways- Sports from games and the internet, stuff like story-telling at Amaja Circles in the comics, etc. Just fun things that really play no important role. Or even details that never appeared in the story, like Copper masks, or things that weren't technically necessary but were good for tone-setting, like the Matoran alphabet. All these together made 2001 very well fleshed out, which, combined with the overall simplicity of the story (Which I know we're doing next year), lent a very unique feel to BIONICLE. I think I'm probably beating a dead horse at this point, so I'll stop after this, but I think you know what I mean? Anyways, more importantly: If I sent you a PM last weekend and I haven't received an answer, should I resend it? 4) I can't speak to what any web games on the site might reveal, since I have no involvement in them. You would need to ask Binkmeister about that. All I can speak to is what might be on BIONICLEstory, which would be side stories as it is now.
  5. When you think about it, 2002 didn't really have any mysticism either, so I'm not automatically judging it based on that. It did have mysterious disappearances, though.
  6. Skrall, who was now severely noble, looked at the gathering of new enemies- They had turned the Ignika into some sort of weapon with which to battle the noble Glatorian! The bastards! And they had the nerve to give it a Maori name, in spite of that culture's wishes! (True, "Tuma" was a Maori name, but still, shut up.) Speaking of Tuma, Skrall had gotten a hold of Metus' entire Badass Snowflake. He held it in place of his old shield now, which, in his newfound nobility, he had given to Metus in exchange for the Snowflake. It was a bit of one-sided trade, Metus still being unconscious at the time, but it was more morally sound than just plain stealing it. During this Atakus had pointed out that the black metal shield was far too heavy for Metus to lift, but Skrall preferred not to think about that. He was a hero now, you know. Skrall charged his sword with elemental earth energy and pointed it at the "astronolic" one among his new enemies- Gelu, was her name, he believed- And fired...
  7. Skrall's mind reeled. He had no idea what the crap was happening. Something with the Ignika or something and now he was covered in sand, for some reason? Or something? Stunned by the wave of sand, Metus was lying unconscious in the mess. Skrall smiled to himself and sprinted at full speed towards his awesome snowflake, his well-fingered hand out in front of him. Just as he stooped down and grabbed it, though, he realized that another hand was holding it. Tuma and Skrall now both grasped it, and the behemoth looked down at Skrall with challenging eyes, much in the way Nidhiki might look at something. Skrall attempted to tug it from Tuma, but he pulled it in half- It was made of two pieces! In a rage, Tuma leaped at him to get the other half of the Badass Snowflake...
  8. Berix raised his/her oddly colored weapons and glanced around- He/she didn't see anything threatening. Just the dwellings in the Ga-Village (Which hopefully looked something like this). All of a sudden, a blur of tan rocketed at Berix faster than he/she could see. Zesk, leader of the Po-Tribe, glared down menacingly with his four eyes at the crumpled heap that was the Ga-Tribesman. The back of his/her head had been hit by the muscular tale of Zesk with a tremendous and sickening thud. The four-legged being looked up at Tarix with a surprised look on his mask-helmet-face-whatever. He had expected Berix to be alone With a roar of rage, Tarix rushed at his small foe and swiped at him with his powerful Energy Blades. Zesk jumped back, however, and the blades passed through empty air. The bestial tan being began to run off, and the angry Glatorian chased after him waving his weapons. The dog-like creature was too fast, though, and after a while Zesk fled into the foliage and Tarix was unable to pursue him further. He returned to the fallen Berix, who was lying dead or unconscious on the rocks. He approached and poked him/her with his bright blue, limited-articulation hands and dreaded that Berix might not wake back up. He/she did, however, and looked up at the Glatorian. "Are we safe?" He/she asked nervously. "For now," Replied Tarix. "Good to see you're alive. I thought Zesk hit you pretty hard." "Yeah," Began Berix. "But my mask-helmet is more helmet than mask. Hence the enormous part on the back and the complete lack of anything on the front." Tarix stared a bit and marveled uncomfortably at how weird that thing on Berix's head looked. Like a translucent blue snail sucking out his/her brain. It was good protection, though, apparently. More importantly, though, he now knew that the Po-Tribe, and by extension the Onu-Tribe with which they were allied, were enemies of the Ga-Village. He would have to set up defenses and be prepared to defeat Skrall and Vorox at the next contest... * * * An explosion shook the earth behind Skrall and he turned around to see Gresh under attack by...
  9. ...Elsewhere in the jungle, Skrall narrowed his eyes and kicked a rock in frustration. Tuma had abandoned him! The two had a good partnership going, and now the cowardly behemoth had fled when confronted. He had probably dropped the Matoran-things' headless carcasses, too. If Gresh had found Tarduk's pieces, he was probably pretty pissed off. He had probably reassembled him by now, as well- It was a simple ball-joint, after all. So this meant Gresh might pose a problem if Skrall ran into him, but at the moment he was more concerned with Tuma's stupidity. He had probably dropped Atakus, too, and Skrall had no idea what the little Onu-Warrior would think of him now, assuming Gresh had snapped his head back on. Atakus had an obligation to assist the Glatorian of his element but, on the other hand, Skrall had beheaded him. Whatever, Thought Skrall. I'll retrieve Atakus later... Right now, Tuma needs to be punished for his disloyalty. I'll head for the icy wastes and steal Metus' badass snowflake before Tuma gets to it. And with that he set off through the trees.
  10. My awesome contribution to your little battle-things: Atakus emerged from his tunnel and glanced at his surroundings- Sunlight filtered feebly through the dense jungle canopy, and an old shrine stood stoically in front of him, overgrown with weeds. He withdrew his Twin Swords and focused his earth-energy through them, preparing for any assault. Tarduk, he knew, had been inhabiting these parts as of late and he knew how vicious the Le-Tribe could be towards his people. The trees stirred, and Atakus stood at the ready. Not ready enough, though- A quick flash of green flew at him and lunged from the foliage, toppling him to the ground. Razor-sharp claws raked his mask-helmet, and the bestial figure of Tarduk stood over him. The green warrior's eyes blazed like fire and tree-roots grew over Atakus' limbs, pinning him to the ground. He wished to death that his ally Zesk was here. "So," Said Tarduk, "I see you have invaded my domain. What do you say in your defense? Perhaps I shall spare you." "You know just why- You killed our chieftain!" "Perhaps I won't spare you then," Tarduk replied with a manic grin. A flash of black, now, and a tall dark figure stood over Atakus, Tarduk beneath his feet- It was the wise Glatorian Skrall! With a swipe of his blade Tarduk's all-new head-piece came tumbling to the ground. Offering his large, knightly hand, he pulled Atakus to his feet. "Are you okay?" He asked in a low voice. "I think so. My mask-helmet may need repairs." "I see." Skrall's eyes darted from side to side and he shrugged. He then promptly cut off Atakus' all-new head-piece and flung the blatantly Av-Matoran body over his own, which was far more freakin' awesome and custom. He picked up the mask/helmet-ish thing and tried to figure out whether it was a Kanohi or not. A behemoth now emerged from the trees and looked at Skrall through his narrow red eyes. Tuma gave Skrall a high-five with his all-new, never-before-seen hand piece and the two grinned jovially. "That makes two!" said Skrall. "Hehe, cool. Let's try Metus next. I want his snowflake."
  11. I hope it is tilted. If he has a unique torso-design, Malum's awesomeness would increase tenfold. Anyways, I want the serials to deal with Makuta's Soviet-style totalitarian rule over the universe. Like in 2004 with the Vahki secret police, the giant "TRUST IN TURAGA DUME" signs, etc. REVOLUTION!
  12. Now that I look at the early leaked photos, too, I see that the chest-plate has a gap between it and the hip joints. So, yeah, it seems that Gresh deviates at least bit from the standard Inika body. Also, it may just be my imagination, but does the Inika torso on Malum look slightly tilted relative to the Carapar armor?
  13. One of the most evilest Bionicles? He's like the most benign villain we've ever had. Good review otherwise.
  14. Make one where they're killing Rasputin.
  15. No words of ours can capture the badassery of this Makuta, so we won't even try. Oh, and you might want to spoiler-tag part of your list...
  16. Haven't watched Dr. Who, but I agree Makuta's a severe badass. A severe badass with a bit of a thing for violent coups.
  17. True, true. I got the book. It was awesome.
  18. Could you spoiler the whole question, including the answer?
  19. Dammit, spoiler-tags, iLego, spoiler-tags!
  20. You crazy? Makuta's such a communist it boggles the mind: Or there are these. Seriously. "Thoughts can be dangerous?" "Trust in Turaga Dume?" "Obedience is happiness?" "A busy Matoran is a happy Matoran?" So Soviet.
  21. I didn't mind when he said that, because I was already certain they'd survive.
