  1. Huh? Where'd politics come into this?
  2. All the translators I've used have referred to "bara..." Perhaps it's a Latin root but not specifically a complete word. Also, have you guys seen Aravagantos in the OGD? Hilarious! Well, that's basically Greg confirming MN=MU I think... He could be talking metaphorically. No offense, but that's really stretching credulity. I prefer to call it "skepticism". EDIT: Monday's video is 40 seconds long!
  3. Anyone here have any interesting relatives? I notice this is usually a pretty good source of cool stories, because just about everyone has weird family stories somewhere. My most interesting relatives include: My grandpa, Sveinn- He immigrated to America from Iceland in 1953 and worked primarily as a military aircraft engineer for Northrop. He was one of the leading engineers behind the original Flying Wing, the B2 Stealth Bomber, and the F-16. Plenty of others as well, including a deep-sea submarine at one point. (At his house he has lots of cool original parts, like propellers and bits of plating. And mail from the Hindenburg because he can.) He always tells us cool stories about the old days back in Iceland. Like the time he accidentally blew down his neighbor's front door with fireworks. My uncle, Guy- He was born in Iceland (He's Sveinn's son) and immigrated to America as a boy. He later moved back to Iceland, where he became a sea captain. So basically he's been all over the world and he has a really cool ship. He lost several fingers in a fishing trawl-related accident, so he kind of has that as a badge of honor. Also, he's fought pirates off the coast of Africa. Plus he has awesome eye-brows that stick out really far from his face and kind of curl upward in an awesome way. I'm told that I look similar to him when he was young, so I can only hope that when I'm older I inherit his eyebrows. My other uncle, Pablo- This is on the other side of the family. He was a hardcore drug addict, and sadly I can't fit all of the hilarious stories about him into one post. He was awesome, though. I'll just tell you that he once mistook kerosene for beer and passed flammable gas for a few days. My great-grandpa on Pablo's side, Fay Leo McGriff- Fay Leo was sort of the proto-Pablo. He had all the crime and such going on but with a stylish old-timey twist. Once, for example, he attempted to rob a gold-mine on Christmas day. He got plenty of gold, but the owner found him and attacked him. They engaged in a car-chase in their Model T's, but Fay Leo lost him and fled all the way to California. (The chase involved guns, with my grandpa in the car as a baby.) My mom, Helga- She works with serial killers as a criminal psychologist and has been named Falconry Apprentice of the Year by the California Hawking Club.
  4. I'm pretty sure it's derived from "thorn." It being a plant and all.
  5. Doesn't mean he was flying around in space. He could've been on Bara Magna and was sent to the other world. Hence "The Great Beings sent Mata Nui from the Heavens." I think the particular part of "the Heavens" that Mata Nui came from and that the Great beings inhabit might be Bara Magna. It seems plausible, especially considering what appears to be a giant unused chuck of Mata Nui in the desert.
  6. 1) I can't discuss this, it's too early 2) Far as I know, it's organic 3) The entire planet 2009 is set on. 3a) You might, yes 4) Bah-ruh (sort of like "barren") Mag-nuh 5) They do have paper in this universe, yes 4. Doesn't matter to me. I have a history of pronouncing BIONICLE names incorrectly when I like them that way. Bar-uh Mog-nuh!
  7. Yes. I hope that was foreshadowing.
  8. I want a jungley Mata Nui.
  9. That energy radiating from the Ignika looks crazy-cool, though.
  10. I just thought it was funny.
  11. Seriously, though. Bara Magna. I can't get over how cool that sounds. Are you guys pronouncing it "bear-uh mag-nuh" or "bar-uh mog-nuh?" I like the second. It sounds so exotic and it rolls well off the tongue.
  12. "Bara Magna?" That is badass.
  13. Looks more like Jaller, if anyone.
  14. Where's that from? Is that a Vahki shin?
  15. It does appear a lot like that now that I look closely, as they appear to have pretty much the same shape, but in the picture I linked to it looks like Berix has pronounced eyes and a mouth-line. Looking at Photok's head I see no structures that might give that impression...
  16. ...The small sets don't have Karda Nui heads. They're shaped entirely differently. And have different faces. Oh, and I'm hoping Mata Nui is Jungle. That way he'll be all life-related and such.
  17. Got comic-complaints? Post here.
  18. Yaaay for the bundament
  19. AAAWWWWESOME I've never seen backgrounds this good. 2001 practically sucks in comparison with this. Look at that fire-castle! Jesus! I notice that the staircases all lead to some sort of light source. This is especially noticeable on Gresh's canister... Reminds me of the temples behind the Turaga, but with the variety of the Toa's backgrounds. I love how ethereal Terix and Berix's backgrounds are, as well. Oh, and thank you, Fero, for showing off Skrall's head from that angle. He has an awesome head. The one thing I dislike is that on Tarix and Skrall the Thornax are attached a bit awkwardly. When I get Skrall I know I'll be moving the launcher to his forearm, like on the prototype. (He's still my favorite one, though!) And yes, actual brown! But seriously, based on the look of these guys I can't help but feel that they're demigods or something.
  20. Nay. Still pretty cool-looking, though.
  21. Yeah, that bugs me as well. My idea was that maybe she was sorta tense still because she was just fighting, but really it's hard to make the arms sag like they should without just being a tangle. It's kind of a two-arm-specific posture, normally.
  22. Mutran, actually. (You can tell from his staff if you look closely.)
  23. If you guys are looking for Bioniporn, look no further than Raka of BZPower. Not on BZPower, of course, but there are some bad things to be found elsewhere... Involving MNOLG Makuta.
