  1. Oddly, all the Force Awakens sets seem to have vanished from the Lego Shop. They haven't sold out, just disappeared!
  2. Thanks for the review! The set description mentions a detachable escape sled, but I haven't seen this in any reviews yet. Is there such a feature or is that a mistake in the description?
  3. Darth Vader is the most iconic Star Wars there is. Kylo Ren might not even survive his first movie... He's really not Vader status. Maul status, maybe, but we can't really be sure of anything until we actually see him in action. (Also, Vader has been in a few small sets. There was the tiny Final Duel I and Darth Vader Transformation, as well as the more recent 2009 TIE Advanced and the 2014 Advent Calendar.)
  4. It's not super surprising, but it does confirm that the set designers had very little to go on when designing the, uh, sets. Which, you know, sucks. Seriously, they weren't even allowed to take pictures?! Given how important merchandise has been to Star Wars, you'd think... eurgh... At least they still look cool...
  5. Yep, those are the transporters. They've got the same little tower/cockpit things at the back-right.
  6. Those vehicles look pretty much identical to the AT-RT and 74-Z, just with different colours and extra guns. It makes me think Hasbro just invented them instead of taking them from the movie. That said, I wouldn't be against the inclusion of one in a battle pack...
  7. Are you sure those are accurate? The Transporter seems to have way more stuff than Poe's X-Wing, and it's only ten pounds more expensive?
  8. Shouldn't the TIE fighter be a little whiter? On the wings, I mean. Kylo Ren and his lightsaber are also a little off. Everything else is awesome, though. I love the transporter and the shuttle!
  9. Our wallets can't repel merchandise of that magnitude!
  10. And a swivelling head! A deployable periscope! Attachable rocket boosters! A stud-shooter rear tow cable!
  11. That's what I'm worried about. :( Stormtroopers just don't look good in red. Those are Clone Shocktrooper colours, not Imperial.
  12. Thanks for the review, Hinckley! About the portal play feature: in the game, portals are not always active. Fire can be used to activate them and a Ghast attack, for instance, will deactivate one. I think the easy removal of the panel is just to allow you to have the portal on or off as you want.
  13. It was a good death. But I was more referring to the whole of the EU becoming non-canon. I can understand Disney not wanting to traverse the quagmire (or asteroid field) of the entire Expanded Universe to make their new movies, but it probably would've been more diplomatic to just set them in a new continuity. Like with comics.
  14. Chewie died in the Expanded Universe, yes, but after Disney acquired Star Wars they declared all EU stuff non-canon. This made a lot of people angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.
  15. Seven years is a pretty incredible run. Has any other set been available for that long?
  16. Thank you, VBBN! This was the review I was waiting for. I'm not a huge fan of these new Bionicles but I do like some of the protectors, and if I get any of them it will be this one. I especially like the propellers. :)
  17. What is in those cookies, I wonder?
  18. I haven't been able to find any of series two in the shops yet. I really want Flurr and Tentro. Maybe I'll have to order online... Does anyone know when the third series launches?
  19. Yikes. Where on Earth was that store?
  20. Yup. That is exactly what I want. Also, we need a Balrog set. Sure, it would mean another Gandalf, but I think we can handle that...
  21. I think the blue and orange goes well together. And they are opposites on the colour wheel. As for the snowcat thing, although the one with the base could stand to be a tad smaller, having the large one as a standalone set would put the price up by a fair bit. It's almost twice the size! And the smaller one is kind of cute. Really, my only complaint with the sets is that there's just the one polar bear. That, and the fact that they're all so cool...
  22. Those Arctic sets are all really nice. The skycrane's pretty cool, and smaller than I expected. With the addition of the dogsled I think I'll have to pick that one up. And all the others... Polar vortex?
  23. Well, that's just been us speculating, hasn't it? That it is part of the mountain thing, I mean. Still, I do wonder if Huw was mistaken about Smaug being part of the largest set. Given that the medium set is some sort of Laketown tower, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to assume that's that's the tower with the windlass crossbow thing that Bard pointed out. That's almost definitely the device they'll use to kill Smaug, so it would make sense for him to be a part of that set.
  24. Maybe not, but I think he knows what a structure is.
  25. Thanks for the review, Cardinal! This isn't a bad set, but I don't like the bat. He looks like a gargoyle or something. The vehicle's cool, but the wings seem to be on backwards. I guess that's for the grabbing feature.
