Thanks a lot for the pics, Navy Trooper Fenson! ) The Calendar looks indeed very promissing. ) The figs: 1) The blue wizard is back! But he may be switched with the green one in the final cut. Nevertheless. ) 2) The mystery of the lady in Dragon's tower seems to be solved! ) 3) Malfoy's face and Dastan's face I hope it'll remain like that. What's that thing he's holding in his left arm? ) 4) A skeleton, Dragon knight, green maid and a blacksmith! ) Assesories: 1) Wine barrel like in MMV. ) 2) Catapult. 3) Blacksmith's forge. ) 4) Cauldron with apples. 5) A ballista. Pretty nice for an Advent Calendar, if it remains like on the picture! A must for me. ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )

It may be considered as trolling in this thread! ) Speaking of color scheme, I suppose that for the sake of "classicness" they had to make the roofs of the Lion Castle standard red. Though in my opinion dark red would have been better. It appears to be a certain difference in color schemes that bothers me a bit. Realistic-looking dark brown and dark green versus light gray and bright red. The latter looks a bit light-weight, so to say. Though, again, it's just my humble opinion and a matter of taste. ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )

Thanks for your feedback! ) Anytime you feel comfortable. Good daym ladies and gentlemen! ) -
Why, you still have a wizard and a small dragon! Pretty nice fantasy elements they are. ) Plus, as I've (and many other members here) said those new factions will look lovely next to the FE sets. ) Not to mention that, IMHO, the new ones are better designed and overall look more "mature", so to say! ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )

Welcome to EB, astefan! ) Great to see people from Serbia around! Welcome brothers! ) I hope you'll enjoy your stay here! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )

True, but in defense I'd say that it looks pretty unique. When we have a minifig trapped inside the cage, only with a head out of it, that's quite sadistic in my opinion. Very medievil-like! ) And why not? I mean we've had plenty towers, drawbridges, etc.... which lead to nowhere. Here we have an attemps of making it look more realistic, castle-like. As for the stairs, i think it adds to the sets playsbility, and as I wrote before, I'm convinced that there'll be some interesting playing feature. ) Indeed, however there's always a chance that in the final product we'll get more. ) BTW, is it me, or there's no flick-fire frenzy this time!? Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )

That's a woman of a dream! ) My version: Please, note the earrings and that lovely mottle near her mouth. ) Ursula with a certain scared Mermaid. ) I hope you liked her! ) Any comments, please? ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )

The Penguin's SW minifigures..... )
The Penguin replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thank you very much, young one! ) Don't underestimate a battle droid, my friend. ) They can be a formiddable force on open space, without any difficult terrain, in good weather conditions, when with artillery support..... Yeah, you're right! ) Thanks a lot! ) Thanks! ) I try my best. ) Yes, actually I'm thinking of selling my customs, as well as making custom figs on requests. ) PM me, and we'll have a small talk. ) Everyone is, of course, welcome to PM me too. ) Thanks! ) I'm glad you liked him. ) I may try that. ) Yes, when you've mentioned it, I noticed that too. The funny thing is that it's not visible on the fig in reality for some reason. Anyway, thanks for the hint! ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) -

Victoria: Thank you very much, young man! ) Lenin: Spasibo, comrade! ) The Penguin: Thanks a lot! ) Thank you. ) No, it's not. ) It's that rare occasion when I went purist and left a minifig unaltered. ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) -
Ha! I think I do look very much like my fig. ) Let's see: 1) I always wear official suits, and have somewhat a passion for fine men's clothes. No need to mention that I often I wear a suit with a vest. 2) I often wear a bow-tie, and suprisingly my most favourite one is purple! 3) My usual hat is either a bowler hat or a low top hat in practically every season exept winter. In winter I wear black russian winter hat. 4) I have a monocle, and use it when nessesary. 5) I always smoke (though I'm not a big smoker) with a cigarette-holder. That doesn't give you that ghastly feeling after smoking, and your hands also stay clean. 6) Though I'm not short. Actually I'm pretty tall, having 190 cm. 7) I'm not fat, but not thin as well. 8) When I smile I have exacly the same dimples as the minifig. And yes, I have quite a wide smile. ) That's it! ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )

Exactly my sentiments. That was one of the reasons I never liked the Skeleton Tower, or Troll Fortress. In this theme LEGO managed (more or less) preserve the neutral attitude to both factions, though hinting by prison carriage set who's who in the theme. ) (Though I never shared the common approch to think of the "opressed" as being the "Light Side". ) Indeed. But in that case (I can't help but think of the tower as being made of wood and stone) it may burn it to the ground! Ha! BTW, you're right. The catapult is indeed from Tower set! In that case we're still to receive the pics of the small one. Hm, is it me, or the "cup" of the small catapult is actually a new piece? ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )

Well, ladies and gentlemen, here're my 2 cents. ) I still have a mixed feelings about the new line, but I guess it deserves a good and firm "B", perhaps even "B+". ) The Red Castle: Well, first of all I'm glad to see that it's red. I mean we've already been getting all kind of castles in blue during the past, say, 20 years, but that's a nice for a change. plus, i'm quite sure it'll look great next to crownie one, for example. They do look different, but that's a difference that works well when in comparison. Kids can easilly imagine them being different kingdoms with different architectural styles. ) Plus, I really liked those nice "corner walls" with ivy on them. That's a lovely touch and doesn't look that boring like plain bricks to me. I just hope that it's printed. Though. The gate tower reminds me for some reason of the fantasy "Tower bridge", but nevertheless it looks good. I was quite disappointed to see those ghastly-looking Bionicle ribber..... things. But that's perhaps because Bionicle+Castle reminds me instantly of KK, which gives me the creeps. The towers (archer ones) look strange on the top. But I hope it'll be different in the final version. And I also find the horn of the unicorn headpiece a bit too big. But I guess it's that casewhen you actually have to hold it in your hand to see if it's true. ) The minifigs look pretty nice, especially the archer's torso. All the good words about new helmets have been said. ) The impulse sets: Well, those are quite good, nothing special though. For me a definite must-buy-5-at-least is a wizard one. I spot a pretty nice-looking scroll with a dragon there. Very useful in MOCs. ) The carriage: To my taste it looks very odd, but perhaps it's a good army-builder. It may also be useful for parts, but I doubt that anyone would wish to get tonns of that. Only for horses, perhaps.... The catapult: It looks good: in that case I do not share the common dislike of that set. I think it has a good selection of useful detais (like slopes in gold and dark green, black wheels and two really nice figs) BTW, I certainly hope that the new theme will give us a good range of new faces. Perhaps even double printed ones. ) The Dragon Tower: I was pretty sceptical about that one at first, but now I think it's may be even the best set of the current line. what caught my eye was the superb color scheme, which is very well-balanced in the set. The floor above the gated is very well detailed for a castle set, and overall use of brown gives me a nearly "forestmen-are -back" feeling. ) I cannot clearly see the left wing but I'm quite sure it has some interesting feature there, apart from just a staircase. Plus this set has lot's of nice touches like the cauldron with something hoy in it on the top. Questionable in terms of a choice of a place, but a thing never seen in LEGO castles before. Well, as a conclusion i must say that it's a good line, well-balanced and with good potential. ) Out of the factions, I'm with dragons. ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )

Ha! Nicely done! I always enjoy seeing new sculptured pieces and details! Especially, if they're so well done. ) I'm not a big fan of those Predator, or, Alien vs Predator movies, but the minifig itself is really a good one, again. ) You might find that video interesting: Batman vs Predator Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )

REVIEW: 8958 Granite Grinder
The Penguin replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great review as always! ) This was one of several sets I got of all PM theme. And I really liked it. Mostly fbecause of the minifigs and those neat little touches like the gas cylinders. ) So no wonder that haven't even assembled it and just stored the bricks and sent the minifigs to serve my evil purist-hating customisation cause. ) But after your review...... I'm thinking of getting another one for simply playing purposes! Vroooom! ) Thanks for the great review, again! ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) -
Ha! ) Very nnice indeed! Makes me think of: Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )

Fear not! for I'm back from vacation and ready to continue my customising! ) Ok, I'll provide a picture in a couple of days. ) Thanks, Viceroy! ) And may I ask what country you are from, comrade? ) Hungary, if I recall those people names correctly? *after checking Wikipedia* Yep. ) Of course, I don't know much about them, but I'm not bad overall in history. Especially what concerns socialism. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) -
Now, that's one impressive MOC, Zeek! ) Very well done. Somewhat futuristic-looking, even. It's up to the scale after all, right?

The Penguin's Castle Minifigures..... )
The Penguin replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks a lot! ) Much appreciated! That's good to see another HMM fan here. Dungeon, you say? Hm, I'll think about it. Thanks! ) Thanks a lot! ) And the new part is here! ) This time it's two heroes: Duke Winston Boragus (Later King Boragus). ) Boragus was born in the 1100s, and as a young man achieved notoriety upon single-handedly slaying his village's chieftain to assume power over his home village. Uniting fellow tribes under his rule, he participated in the Festival of Life around 1141 AS, and quickly and easily emerged the victor. The new ruler of Krewlod, he eventually came to become known by many as one of the greatest rulers the nation had ever known. He fathered several sons, including Jabarkas, and raised an adopted daughter, Gundula. Famed for his formidable army, Boragus constantly scouted out recruits from foreign nations. One such mercenary was the Bracadan Half-Genie, Yog. To test Yog, Boragus turned all of his forces against the unknowing warrior upon his arrival through the border; when Yog finally reached Ulgak, Boragus sent him on a mission to distribute the components of the Angelic Alliance across Antagarich. And the second one is the next Krewlod king Kilgor. ) Boragus played only a small part in the Restoration Wars; on King Gryphonheart's death, he attempted to finance a border offensive into Erathian territory, conflicting with Tatalian King Tralossk hoping to expand his boundaries beyond Hillbridge and into Marshland. After Krewlod's offensive was quashed by Queen Catherine and Gavin Magnus, Boragus withdrew his troops, allowing Erathia to recover. Much more of the kingdom's resources were concentrated in organising the 1171 Festival of Life - four contenders, Kilgor, Degab, Telez and Vilmit, rose to contest his rule. Kilgor proved the most capable of the four, defeating the Ancient Behemoth Razor Claw and overcoming all of his opponents. Still, confident of his superior skills as a warrior and leader, Boragus welcomed the young Barbarian's challenge. In the final contest for the throne, he lightly taunted Kilgor through missives, but was unexpectedly bested in strategy. Overcome, Boragus was slain in cold blood by Kilgor and beheaded. His severed head was interred as a bust in the same throne room he once presided over, an event which marked the beginning of Kilgor's brutal reign. I hope you liked that part. ) Any comments, please? ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) -
