Lego Star Wars Hoth Base 7666 avalible again!
Tarfful replied to aayla-secura's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Actually 7666 was always $60 at TRU, and people think Wal-Mart is evil. On another note, in your avatar and sig are you referring to the original Mentok or the one from Havey Birdman: Attourney at Law? Either way it's still pretty awesome. -Tarfful -
Actually TRU always jacks their prices up , and yes it was $60 at TRU the first time around too. So, it will probably still be $50 at S@H. -Tarfful
-
Good eyes Shacala, it was indeed taken off TRU's website. Though it still says the item is temporarily not available. Now to the waiting part of the game... 7666 re-release in May ON! -Tarfful

Darkrebellion we were just speculating what it would be if it was a redesign. Actually Steff said it wasn't a re-design, but it is a re-release. So everything still makes sense, to me at least. On another note, I'm 99.9% positive it'll be a re-release of 7666. I mean it was originaly TRU exclusive, there was and still is a very big demand for it, and all TLC would have to do is start producing them in large quantities again since it's a fairly recent set. @Steff- Can you tell us the exact release date? -Tarfful

And people said SW modular buildings wouldn't work, well you proved them wrong! Great job SirNadroj, a very movie accurate and detailed work. I especially like your choice of figs. -Tarfful

If I were you I'd go for the clones. My reasoning, after they stop producing the first wave of BP's I wouldn't be surprised to see the prices for the BP clones to go through the roof on BL and EBay. Droids will pretty much always be the same price. Plus, Phase 2's are just cooler then Droids. On another note if you are really hurting for Droids get the Droid BP, but be warned they will probably make a new CIS BP sometime next year for the CW series coming up, and that would hopefully have the new 90 degree angle droid arms and the new mold blasters. -Tarfful

The 6 scale giant Yellow Castle already has it's own topic around here somewhere , but the rest are new. (To me at least. ) On another note they are all truly massive castle creations! My brain hurts just contemplating all the time and effort, not to mention money , that went into creating each and every one of those marvelous creations. Kudos to all the builders! -Tarfful

Don't be sorry just take a look at the tutorial on resizing large pics, here. On another note I like the idea of a one man catapault thats also easily portable. Also I really like the comic showing all the functions of the micro-catapault. Overall a very origianal and well executed idea , the only forseeable downfall is that I don't have 2 of the wheel pieces you used. -Tarfful EDIT: After reading the sentence about the pics more carefully, I saw that you said you can't resize the pics. May I ask whay?

Hmmm... my thoghts on the matter: I love Steam Punk and all its wacky and outragous fun, but I do not think that TLG will ever give us a pure Steam Punk theme. My hope for a Steam Punk theme would be to incorporate elements from Leonardo da Vinci's creations into steam powered vehicles. Kind of like the Vinci faction in Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends. This way we would get a more specialized theme with a historical twist. The only question I have is what would be the "evil" faction and what would be the "good" faction in such a theme? Steam Punk Lego ON! -Tarfful EDIT: 300th post, huzzah! And it wasn't even in the Within the Death Star: The Tie Army Forum.

Hello and welcome James to this great site we call EuroBricks! First off some questions: What themes are you into right now? What is your all time favorite theme? Also what country are you from? I know it says "European Lego Fans Community", but about half of the members are from other Continents, like me. Thats about it for now, hope to see you around on the boards , Tarfful

I'm sorry but it just doesn't work for me, it's to bulky, JSF's to me are supposed to be sleek and smooth not chopped up and chunky. I hope I'm not being to harsh it's just that it doesn't look right to me. Maybe taking out some of the more obtrusive curves and thining it down might work to help get that Delta 7 feel. It's not that the ship itself looks bad it's just that it doesn't look like a Delta 7, of course that's just my opinion. -Tarfful

After reading this topic and finding out about how the seeingly evil Wal-Mart Corporation is taunting Lego Indy fans everywhere I decided to go to my local Wal-Mart here in Des Moines and try my luck with getting some new Indy sets. I go there to find out that they have 7624, 7625, and 7676, but no 7677. (I was planning on being the first to rview it. ) So, I then pick up 7624 and 7625 trying not to get my hopes up as I head to the cash register, and shot story even shorter, it turns out that I had No problems what so ever getting the new sets. At that moment I felt like I was king of the world Wal-Mart Corporation. So now I plan on heading back there soon to see if I can find 7677. In your face Wal-Mart Corporation I beat you, sort of , at your own cruel game! -Tarfful

Tough decision, on the one hand I'd say get another AT-AP because it's one of my favorite SW sets, it's extremley aesthetically pleasing, and a great parts pack. On the other hand though, the RS is probably going to be the most valuable down the road, what with it having three exclusive figs. But it really all depends on what you want/need right now, a super-cool spaceship with a huge amount of features and hidden weapons, a sturdy ground walker with enough firepower to take out just about anything, or a small army of Phase 2's. To put it a different way, which do you need right now: a spaceship, a ground walker, or an army? Hope that helped. Oh, and don't forget to introduce yourself here. -Tarfful

One more correction to add to that fine list of corrections captaintau, since we're talking about OT only (because the new set rerelease/redesign is going to be OT) the Slave 1 was only redone once. On another note, I personally would want a minifig-scale UCS Boba's Slave 1 , with printed arms and legs Boba of course. That way anyone who got 10179 would have something to have an epic space battle with the gigantic MF. -Tarfful EDIT: Sorry Vader and trooperdavinfelth for the attitude. No illwill was meant by the use of the Wacko emoticon, it won't happen again.

Or Octuparra Droids. Thanks for the heads up Simon! Some stuff is new but for the most part it's not, still great to watch though. -Tarfful

I actually never played Spartan: Total Warrior, except for in stores. I can assure you that VBFA is an excellent game I highly reccomend it to you if you liked STW. -Tarfful

Thanks for the great news Grevious! I'll be running out to my local Wal-Mart in 3... 2... 1... NOW. -Tarfful

I'm not a big fan of what Bionicle's transformed into over the years, but I voted Purple just because it would be sweet to see a big Purple Technic beast. -Tarfful

No fair! I used to have one but that was6 years ago when I was 11 and I... too ashamed to say it... I got bored with it and broke it apart , and now I have no idea where the pieces are At least I still have the p.I's, *sighs* I guess I really do deserve my title. But I do hope to get at least 4 of each of 7676 and 7675. A very ashamed Wookie, Tarfful

Hey everyone, This topic is for discussing the Total War game series. For those of you who don't know what the TW series is, it's a historical RTS game series spanning from Anchient Rome- the 1800's. The games in this series include: Shogun: Total War, Medieval: Total War, Rome: Total War, Medieval II: Total War, and the upcoming Empire: Total War, plus their respective expansion packs and Mods. The series also indirectly includes Spartan: Total Warrior and Viking: Battle for Asgard which are developed by the same people but are 3rd person brawlers. To find out more avout the Total War series you can click the link here. Or you can go to totalwar.com. Now onto the discussion: I personally like M2TW the best because of the fact that I like the Medieval times more then the other time periods in the other games. But I can't wait for Empire it's going to be sweet, finaly real time sea battles, I've been waiting for that since I stumbled upon the origianal MTW back when it was new! I also like VBFA and I'm currently playing it for the XBox 360, whats not to like about a game where you're a Viking warrior battling demon Vikings in mythalogical Norway. So, do any of you guys play any games in the ongoing and ever expanding series? -Tarfful

Doing some more research on the evolution of the Y-Wing, I came up with this timeline: First the Republic NTB-630 Naval Bomber Second Republic Era Y-Wing Last Rebel Alliance Y-Wing Also I found the reason for the bubble turret on top according to Wikipedia- Colin Cantwell, who also designed the saga's TIE fighters, initially designed the Y-wing with a large bubble turret for a gunner. However, the dome did not appear properly when filmed against bluescreen, and subsequent designs excised the turret. -Tarfful
